Well.... if you rip your cards up and you find out your rare (or almost rare/good) cards are real... then they become cheap crap and not as rare if ripped or scratched

I bought a shinning fates pack for $10 off Amazon and I remember hearing it was hard to find so I’m hoping it’s a real pack..it comes in this week, I’ll definitely look at all the cards closely.
Where they fake or resealed?
@@maxwels2553 it was real. I pulled two V cards. I got Greedent and Dubwool V And I purchased it again and got a Dragapult Shiny the second time.
@Fahim Tarmizi it didn’t seem resealed and this was me jumping back into collecting Pokémon after years so I had no idea that Shining Fates weren’t sold as single packs. I had no idea that it was only in boxes, so I think I had thought that these could be found as single packs in the wild like Vivid Voltage and Battle Styles.
In my shining fates pack, I bought it at some store for 2€ 10 cards, 9 VMax 1 V they're real lol

We noticed that there were no code cards in the fake packs, and the ‘Card Trick’ wouldn’t have worked, as the cards were not in the proper order. I think that could also be something fairly obvious to look out for? Thank you for posting the video. It is very important to get these fake cards out of the community. Younger collectors could be taken advantage of for not knowing how to tell the difference. Much Love! Natalie & Curtis !
Also another clear sign of fake packs is when you get way too many good cards and only one or two commons.
@@MrWereWolfGirl Or when the Ex/Gx cards have no holofoil... Or they a cheap, paternless foil... OR cheap foil with ridiculous looking designs all over the entire card, such as endless circles everywhere.
@@kidwolf0015 Oh yeah that too. Most of the fakes I've found so far are suspiciously cheap and obviously fake, but I ordered a pack of GX cards from Wish for like five dollars, got 10 of them and when I compared them to the GX cards that I got from the official packs they were exactly the same, same feel, same quality everything, just cheaper price. So sometimes they can be insanely hard to spot. I am still not sure if those were really fakes or not.

I've come across a few fake packs at a couple stores in my area and have been bringing packs to comparing to make sure I check now adays, but one thing I didn't notice until watching your video is that the actually sealing is different. In the real packs they have vertical lines and in the fake pack in this video it is three lines of divits.
Pro tip: If you are buying cards of Amazon, don't look at the offers if it says (used & new offers) don't buy there's a chance they might be tampered with. Only buy from the options that say (new offers) Those cards will have a low chance of being tampered with as they come directly from the factory no third party involved 😉
why do fakes even exist there just ruining the pokemon card comunity with people getting scammed
It’s so simple, people make fakes to get cheap money
I just bought cards yesterday night, found out it's fake this morning. Finding ways to sue the shop. I'm glad my mom have a friend who's husband a lawyer
@@FishyDragonTamer I really don’t think it’s the shop’s fault. They may have been scammed themselves or just not know. Also unless they’re thousand dollar cards it’s probably best to just let it go
@@ahriahvanor6690 honestly I'm not surprised since like 90% of items here are made in China, so finding genuine card is like a needle in a haystack :') But here also no shop is allowed to sell fakes, the government have been issuing a fine of $10k to the shop that sells fake items

I relate. At one point I had the same problem. Now I have two different collections: one for authentic cards and one for hillariously terrible counterfit cards... It's definitely worth it to buy them from reputable stores...

Guys you don't have to rip your cards. Just look at the thin side of your cards. If there is a black line, its real, because the adhesive they use is black. If there is no black line, use that card for kindling
How do you know if you rip a card how do you know if it's real or fake does real one have black lines? or no lines?
@@donuttheleo6660 you look at the very edges of the card. Pokemon card are actually two pieces of paper glued together with a black adhesive. So look in between the card and you'll see it.
i ripped three (bad) cards and there was black inside so I thought they were fake. Thank god they aren't.
@noobgamer Again. Look at the thin edges of the card. They use a black adhesive and it is noticeable on the thin edges of a card. Its not actually a black line and I just described it like that because its in the thin part of a card.

Staryu's sacrifice wasn't in vein, rip in peace. ❤️
Idk if the same goes for Pokémon cards, but I know MtG cards have the "bend test", where you can bend a real card from top to bottom and it'll give enough to bend without creasing. It's extremely uncomfortable to do, but the real thing will pass the test and you'll be able to bend it back to normal condition without damage.
Sacrificing a Staryu to one day save a Blastoise is a price well paid
I just now realized that in February of 2020 I accidentally traded a kid a fake pokemon card. @@sponsoredbywalmart Probably because they didn't know - I wouldn't know either if I haven't seen a ton of those packs for a dollar on wish. Whilst the real packs that contain half of the Pokemon GO cards in each pack (I think that pokemon GO comes with 30ish cards in box/pack and the real ones come with 15 per pack), these were like a dollar per pack and the real ones are 4-5 dollars in store so that's how I knew those were fake, but I can see why some parents or young kids might fall for this, especially because Pokemon GO is a legit pokemon game.
