My mother used to make this salad for every special dinner we had! It was so good - we had our own pecans from our own trees, and they were so good! It’s just a special salad!

This looks sooooo good! I will half it, there's only anywhere from 2 to 5 of us here. I'm feeling a bit sad watching this and hearing you talk of family. All the adults in my family are gone now, and I'm feeling like an orphan. I must mention that I will be 67 next month, but I still feel like I'm not one of the grown-ups, lol. You make me feel like you are the mom I don't have anymore.

I love Ambrosia Salad! My family always put pecans/walnuts in ours. My grandparents are German & they put nuts in anything that has fruit! 😂My family makes a lot of the foods that you make. We live in Texas. You remind me to make things I haven’t eaten in a very long time! And sometimes you make yours a little different so I try your way & it’s always very delicious! I love your recipe videos. And I’m a Mimi too! We just spell it differently. 😂

MeMe years ago in Buffalo we stopped to eat at KFC .I ordered sweet tea blank stare he said we have tea you can put sugar in come to find out it was hot tea .They didn’t even have iced tea much less sweet .I know the Colonel rolled over in his grave !😮

I love this salad! I plan on having it for Easter too! One of the hardest things as a born and raised Southerner, has been my sweet tea! As long as I don't have to give up my Dukes mayonnaise I will be ok. Happy Easter!

Glad to see someone else using sour cream in their ambrosia, or as we like to call it in our house, 24 hour salad. We, however, never use whipped topping....only sour cream. If you want a deeper flavor without all the extra sweet, I recommend you try doing just the sour cream. I guarantee you will love it.

Oh MeMe I just have to share a little story. Hon my Grandma had given me that same exact bowl and I loved it so much! I was at work and my girls were home and decided to play tennis in the house- and of course broke my antique bowl. Girl friend I cried like a baby. Well now I got a chance to see it again! Yeah! I remember as a child my grandmother making ambrosia. Also, I would have to agree, that unsweet sweet tea is “broke”. You can’t sweeten it enough after it’s cold just like you can’t salt grits enough after you’ve cooked them.
