This is why I think Red Faction was way ahead of it's time
The dev behind IoD worked on RFG, it's nice that some devs still think destruction-based games are worth making
it was.
It blew me away when it came out. Being able to change the terrain was a game changer
Probably the reason I chose battlefield over CoD.
Red faction and especially Red Faction 2 were awesome at the time.

The vehicle building game they were talking about was called Crossout, its changed a little bit but its still popular
I used to like it a lot until I hit the "pay to win" point. Where you literally cannot advance unless you give them money.
@@wumpusrat I understand what you mean, but you don't have to give them anything, start grinding for weapons and sell them on the market, also if you play during times of the year like Christmas or Halloween they give out special paints and stencils, wait til later in the year and sell them and they're worth quite a bit thanks to their limited amounts

Appsro, the objective of Blast Corp 64 was to clear a path for a run away muclear hauler so it would not colide with anything and detonate the two nuclear warheads contained within the truck. Also great video guys.

This is one of my favorite physics-based destruction game, I've been playing since it was only the sandbox mode! It does have a vehicle editor, but you can also create custom structures, and maps. I've had just as much fun with both of those, watching a building you built collapse is great feeling
The dumpster was such a great idea. Love it!
Back in my early 20âs I had a job doing demolition for a construction company. That was a pretty fun job. Going into houses and just going nuts with a sledge hammer on anything I could see. The clean up part sucked but the tear down was cool lol.
When I worked on a remodel crew my favorite part was tearing out the old walls and cabinets. Super satisfying.

Crossout was the car building game
I loved Blast Corps back in the day. I still use the map music as my alarm. It was a tune with lyrics that just said "Time to get moving".
This is what I believe more games need to have, environmental destruction and physics.
Crossout is the game with crazy customization by Gaijin the same who made war thunder
I work on a golf course, we mow grass everyday. grass grows quickly when hydrated properly. Obviously lawns are another beast but once a week is healthy.

the game they mentioned as published by Gaijin was Crossout. They just confused World of Tanks with War Thunder

Did a rage room for my fiancée's birthday a couple months ago, it was an absolute blast and totally worth it!
12:50: NEEBS I HAD THAT TOY!!! idk what its called but my grandma still has it. There was a track with two loops, a battery powered truck frame would drive around the track picking up different shells(dump truck, backo, front loader) carrying little plastic marbles dumping them on one spot where they'd flow to another spot for the truck to pick them up again with a different truck shell. I've never met anyone else who knew about it before!!!

I love games where I can destroy everything lol I have a recommendation for a dumpster game, Dysmantle. A zombie bird's-eye view crafting game. I'm addicted to it lol
Not sure if you guys checked the game options or not but you could probably UP the physics debris and particles as well as shadows (I don't think they default to max).
its so frustrating watching them literally drive around 2 containers in the middle of an island and skip them to go looking for other ones.

Took me a minute to get into this but holy crap I could absolutely spend hours in this game. SMASH!!
Neebs was right, it was a powered track set. Replaced the race cars with dump trucks, etc and the track had attachable stations that could drop pebbles, etc into the trucks or you could use the bulldozer to clear small pebbles off the track segments.
I need a "Put up the bumpers, Grandma!" Neebs Gaming tee-shirt.
When Neebs wonât stop criticizing, hand him the controls and tell him to either put up or shut up.
Neebs seems to be the only one with an IQ above room temperature. He knew how to knock all the towers down while it was obvious no one else contemplated a tower taking out another tower.
Appsro would never give up the control you can't tell he needs to be the center of attention all the time lol and his complete lack of following anyone's suggestions that's what makes watching dumpster videos with him playing so difficult for me
There was a game awhile back (i had it for xbox 360) that had some great destruction mechanics called red faction guerrilla, this game reminds me of it a bit
