Really?? I played it for maybe 20 mins and could not get into it. I loved arkham and gta etc...what am i missing?
It helps to be older and be a fan of old mad max film. But I believe this game does many things well while games today struggle to do one thing well. This game knows exactly what it is supposed to be. Great story, great visuals, great car customization and variety, great combat on foot with guns and in the vehicles. Great open world objectives.
This game was a true hidden gem. I really wish they would make a sequel to this.
No decent mods either since I heard it was difficult to mod.
It has a huge issue though, the game play loop is really tedious after about 20 hours, maybe even sooner. It's basically drive around and fight the same enemies over and over. All the PoIs are very similar. The combat is pretty much button mashing, don't get me wrong, it looks amazing and the animations are very fluid, but that's about as deep as it goes. It's a very surface level game with little to no depth. If you're a completionist it might scratch an itch because there's plenty of mostly useless things to unlock, but aside from that the game just nas no real playability, and that's coming from someone with 250+ hours in Starfield.
From what I saw there is another game on the drawing board and George Miller has his hands in it

If i was to compare Appsro to anyone from the game, I would say he is more of a Chumbucket than Mad Max

I'm not shocked to find out Appsro has his own car gimp.
It's probably the same gimp from his Ark series lol.
Biggest problem is there's a weird gimmick with one or a couple of the upgrades... Some kind of timer.
I think it needs to connect to some now defunct live service... One was like scrap over time, and another was a magnet for collecting scrap from dead cars while you're driving.
You need a lot to upgrade everything... Having those upgrades is really great and now they don't work.
And they could have patched it but they didn't.
But I gotta say, I love it when daddy Appsro plays a game. Always fun listening to him.

I doubt it will, considering this game came out the same year as the Mad Max Furry Road movie and the sales numbers for this game were not great back then, and the new Mad Max movie is losing money, so i highly doubt we'll get a sequel to this game or a new Mad Max game
I agree with whoever said severely underrated game. Its easily ahead of its time and it shows in such a big way. I wouldn't say this game was ahead of its time, considering the melee combat is taken straight from the Batman Arkham games, and the vehicle combat wasn't exactly new or ground breaking
I think this game is overrated. I found it boring. The game spoon feeds you and its way too easy. Never felt like I would run out of fuel or water. Also the game breaking bugs.
Thanks Appsro you just reminded me I've had this game for years and each time my saves get corrupted and I rage and uninstall the blasted thing. 🤣😂

This game was severely underrated when it came out. I remember watching people do playthroughs and it looked awesome. Still looks great to this day and somehow holds up to even the new games

Just watched Fury Road today when I turned on the TV after work. This game adds more context to the Fury Road movie. Max really did them a solid by changing their mind about crossing "the salt" watching Fury Road I thought it might have just been a salt flat or something, but after seeing this game I'm like, "Oh! they were trying to cross the ocean. Good save Max!"

I think this game came out around the same time as battlefield 1 and that's why most have forgotten or never even knew about this game

I play this game once every few years. It’s amazing. Came out the same day as MGS5 so it sorta fell through the cracks imo.

Man this brings back memories, I loved this game! I need to reinstall it and play it again. When it came out people were talking bad about it, but I honestly loved it. It's such a slept on hidden gem.

Love this game. One of my favorites of all time. My latest playthrough I just keep the threat level as high as possible so I can take my upgraded cars and drive around and get into battles. My first playthrough I made the mistake of clearing all the threat to 100%. Then there was nothing to do and no one to fight unless you did the deathraces. HUGE missed opportunity for an online MMO game. Large gangs of players roaming around getting into scraps, building bases and various vehicles. Would have been epic but I digress. You would think there would have been a sequel but nope apparently the developers don't like money.
I actually just watched something and they mentioned that not only did George miller already have 2 more scripts written, but there is plans for another game

I liked Rage 2, this has that vibe in a mad max world.

Mad Max is the 2nd best open world game I’ve ever played. The first being Elden Ring. The combat on foot is like the Arkham games and the car combat is a little like Black Flag’s naval combat.
Can't forget the sound design. The engines always sound amazing

I replayed this not too long ago. Got it on sale. Such an amazing and underrated game. Would love a sequel to this.
God I love this game. It is not on sale but it is only $19.99. It makes sense since the last time I played it several "on-line" features are no longer supported so you loose those extras. Other than that the game works and runs fine and is still fun as hell. You may not think there is much to it but I would LOVE to see Appsro do a full play of this. Just his personality with this game. I would find it a must watch.
I'm also currently replaying this on the pc. I love this game. It's pretty awesome getting to see one of my favorite channels play it.

I remember playing this when it released. It isn't bad for a movie based game, probably the best tv/movie game ever released, although it still does have that tv/movie game sort of cheapness to it, but I was surprised by how much content it had and how well made it was.

I grew up a twisted Metal fan and honestly I’d had never seen a mad max movie my dad rented this game because it was one of the few games he saw an ad for and went that looks like twisted metal and I became hooked and now I love the franchise.
I have finished this game twice over, and always recommend it to anyone that likes open world etc. Great game.
I love that you guys post your solo adventures and all, but I really want someone else there to create the back and forth banter we all love so much. If nothing else, Simon should be required to cameo all of these videos and complain about it.

I've been playing since it came out and when I showed it to my fellow veteran buddy I started saying JEEEET when I hook and pull a driver from their car. Ya know. Yeeet. Jeeeet. My buddy cracks tf up. I loved the Rage cop thing you did with this. 😆 Rage Cop got my buddy hooked on Neebs Gaming. We're ol infantry guys. So we're all for intense combat and stealth type games.

I love the old Mad Max movies. I’m not too into the newer ones but I haven’t seen the latest, Furiosa. Anya Taylor-Joy is a great actress though so I’m sure it’s good.
Also, it’s me, I’m the completionist. 😂 It’s either that or I lose all interest.
For Post-Apocalyptic movies, I hate most remakes but I wish that someone would redo the 1975 “A Boy and His Dog”. It inspired the Mad Max series and Fallout.
I've played this through two or three times.
The bases are different enough for it to not becopme repetative and over all a highly underrated game and quite cheap just to add to its appeal.
One of the best games of all time. The devs did a fantastic job of representing the world and lore, and capturing exactly who Max really is. It's the perfect bridge between the old movies and the new ones.
