    I can't believe how close this was! In my opinion, it looked like Aivars had it, but I respect the judges call, they know better than me!

    An event tie was spot on.

    As far as i can see with the footage from youtube. Their hands come off the stone in the same frame. Crazy finish!

    Insane, they were timed perfectly synced left hand to right removal.

    Unfortunate for Aivers 😅 got his stone in place first but took the time to try and stabilize it and ended with a tie. Honestly this is pretty freaking cool though!!

    i saw it on 0.25 speed and kept pausing every frame and it was the same time. Aivars gets it up first but is slow to get hands of so Luke catches up

    Rock paper scissors to decide.

    Such sportsmanship from both of them. Love to see that.

    Literally the same time. Split the points.

      @ora6925 Před měsícem +1

      There was additional drama - them tieing on the event means Luke wins the competition. Aivars winning the event means Aivars wins the competition. The title depended on the outcome of the stone event!

      @@ora6925 luke could win or draw to win and aivars had to win.

  • @truehellbeliever6664
    @truehellbeliever6664 Před měsícem +1

    Calling it a draw was the only possible outcome. I mean if they gave it to Luke, Aivars would be disrespected and the same way for Luke if the win would be given to Aivars. I watched it like 1000 times... I think that Luke won it by a fraction but if you give me 10 more attempts I might change my answer and then again... Well done to both of the athletes and the judges as well.👏👏👏

    It's the exact same frame. Which is the only thing the judges can go off of. A tie is objectively correct.

    At first I was like Aivars has it but the frame by frame clearly shows they left go at the exact same time. Good call by the refs.

  • @ManofLowMoralFiber
    @ManofLowMoralFiber Před 23 dny

    Maybe with a higher frame rate camera, a difference could have been seen- but it looked like they were both hands off on the same exact frame with the footage we have. That's a tie.

      It’s always been whoever’s hands are off first. It got reviewed from multiple angles hence why they couldn’t decide and was called a dead heat.

    The difference between being ESM or not.
    Tough one to call on the naked eye after some seconds of consideration
    There has to be a better way found. But god knows what that is.
    Is it more cameras and higher frame rate? Like an overhead camera? That would at least give a better angle to view the finish.
    On the other hand, you could do all that and never have a finish this close again. But it is sport and it will inevitably happen again, in this event or others.
