I thought it was an attachment issue with the plastic bottle for a moment 😂 which I kinda relate 😭 I wish it applies in my country too. they charge plastic bag, but people don't really give af about it. this kinda method might actually work on reducing the plastic usage and push people to be more responsible of their trash.
We have a similar system in Michigan, USA but it's only $0.10. Still, if I ever leave the state with a bottle or can, you bet I'm bringing that home with me.
The difference is that in Germany they are charged an additional "fee" for each plastic bottle they buy and when they recycle it back into the machine, they get that money back. In Michigan, you aren't charged extra for the plastic bottle, you just pay the going rate for the product. If you recycle it for money, you are actually getting money back towards your purchase price vs it acting as a sort of deposit to encourage you to recycle and money lost if you do not. It's similar to shopping at Aldi- you put a quarter in the cart to use it and if you return the cart properly, you get your quarter back. If you decide to leave the cart by your car in the parking lot, you lose your quarter lol!
@@chloeandchanel7046That's how it is in michigan. Each bottle has an additional $0.10 charged when you buy it, and then when you return your returnable bottles or cans you get your $0.10 back.
I would love to have that automatic service at my city. Here you usually need to go to a specific place to recycle the bottle and well you need to save more than 1 bottle since they count it using the weight, not the amount of bottle. You also gotta interact with the owner & staffs which I honestly try to avoid. Having those kind of recycling machine would make a very nice experience.

I did have a problem figuring out the recycling system while in Germany.
Love this.
I lovee how he smiles at the end, beautiful story ❤😂
I was expecting the bottle to be rejected after all that 🤣
That happens in Sweden
@@mrTycooleditz happens in Germany as well when the bottle is too damaged
or when it's the wrong brand...
A proper german knows that the shop has to accept it anyways. Ask an employee
🤣🤣🤣
In Slovakia, we also have deposit bottles and this is so relatable, I protected my two bottles my whole UK trip until they were safe back home where they belong 🥰
Im very proud of you. You deserve a german passport
Haha
That’s just been introduced in Australia and my mum is going crazy looking for bottles 😂
God, this....this is fantastic, and funny and even sort of moving! Liam, you are an artist. You and the bottle could have become friends for a lifetime...but no- Pfand is important! And when you are back in Germany, the trains are to late, of course, and people wear "Birkenstock"sandals with socks.... Ahahahah....
The German smile at the end because God forbid he actually expresses excitement. 😂😂😂
Some Folks get excited over every little Thing it loses its meaning
It's our natural german pokerface 😂
its the german feeling when everything is how it should be
This is the best idea that all county's should have . I saw it in Sweden. This solve a lot of plastic pollution.
So far it’s Present in Sweden, Denmark and Germany. it even gets kids to go out and find left over pfant! it’s genuis
Had this for 20+ years in Sweden yeah. When I was a kid, me, brother and two random bois we met at a race track event spent like 2 hours collecting bottles and cans, and got 30€ each out of it. Spent like 40 minutes at the pantmaskin putting them all in.
Think they have it in Norway as well. When I was a kid we would go grab bottles from the recycling station and bring them to the store to get some money for candy@@kaiserslavaniaashur1623
@@kaiserslavaniaashur1623it's in norway too
If only we actually recycled plastic
This is amazing :) the details!
He brought a flight ticket for the bottle to save 0.25 cents 😭
This is one of your best, Liam. Laughed all the way through. Your wife’s change in expression when you plonked your suitcase in then left to deal with the bottle 😂😂😂😂
Why do I love that tiny smile so much?
Because this is so cute😊
@@Nazwa68479sorry you missed out on that advantage
That was beautiful. A masterpiece
The good care he took of the bottle😆
This is especially funny to me bc my sister and her husband work in Germany and when they came over to Poland for a little bit, they made a point of taking all the bottles back to Germany to get the deposit back.
Damn apperarently it sits in everybodys bones as soon as they spent a little too much time here😂
They need to visit India, few bulk carriers will be returned)
@@Pacca33 it has to be German bottles
Das beste Video zum Pfandrecycling ever😂😁👍
yep, die Pfandsystem-Verantwortlichen sollten es als Commercial nutzen, wäre endlich mal ne gute Werbung..
Stimmt😊👍
I can feel it 😂
When I traveled to Asia was the same … 😂I felt so bad to throw it away 😂
As someone who brings all their recycling with them on road trips to Oregon, I support it 100%
Anyone can relate to this home sickness. When I was in the Army, I went home to visit and helped my grandmother fix up her yard. She had an old dog named Honey that was with us for about 11 years. She jumped on me a few times and got muddy paw prints alll over my shirt. When I left home, I washed the shirt once and the paw prints were stained. This was 15 years ago and I still have that shirt to this day, paw prints and all. Still hits the feels when I see it
The only reason I scroll through comments is to find short stories from people’s lives. This was a good one ❤
so cute and sad !! ❤❤❤
Bestes Video bisher. Love it! I am a German living in the states now and it always hurts when I throw a plastic bottle in the trash. It's pure torture 😢
It is a torture if you cant retrieve 25 cents. It is a pleasure to get rid of it if there is no Pfand.
I feel this pain daily 😢
I thought it was an attachment issue with the plastic bottle for a moment 😂 which I kinda relate 😭
I wish it applies in my country too. they charge plastic bag, but people don't really give af about it. this kinda method might actually work on reducing the plastic usage and push people to be more responsible of their trash.
This is actually super wholesome
the ending had me in tears 😭😭
We have a similar system in Michigan, USA but it's only $0.10. Still, if I ever leave the state with a bottle or can, you bet I'm bringing that home with me.
i guess i dont have to ask michigan on german heritage then.
Socialist and wholesome
@@chloeandchanel7046no- it’s a bottle charge. We pay the ten cents at checkout
Also from Michigan- and buy a lot of bottles.
It’s exactly the same
I would love to have that automatic service at my city.
Happy new year from BC Canada 🎉 I just love your videos 😂
Ich bring meine Pfandflaschen auch immer aus dem Urlaub wieder mit 🤣
