- This is a beautiful beautiful piece that hasn't been uploaded yet so I thought I'd share it with everyone.
It's the theme from the film "The Diving Bell And The Butterfly", which happens to be a brilliant film.

I’ve been using this CZcams video to listen to the song for the past 14 years
Max Von Sydow passed away today. Thank you sir for your contribution to cinema and for your stellar performance in this film. Rest in peace.
I'm proud to say I recorded this in 2000
You and Paul Cantelon did a great job with the song! I have a question though: How many different takes while recording did you need to get the song perfect?
@@alexshen8600 A single take, no edits. Paul is exceptional. If you want a treat, listen with the speakers ±45º off your frontal axis, not the usual 30º. This is a pure Blumlein recording and should be heard that way.
Thank you for this gift. May you and Paul be blessed every time it falls on the ears of an admiring listener. It's one of my favorite musical pieces.
This is one of my favorite pieces of music. You should be proud. I'm always curious about how easy or difficult a piano piece is, how difficult is this one? I think I read they grade piano players ability with Levels 1 thru 10, 10 being super advanced ( I could be completely wrong about all of that lol) . What level would a person be at what can play this particular piece?
@@Beth-pf6oo This song ranges from: Kinda easy to hard to wtf. I wouldn't suggest this for an intermediate player. I've been playing piano for a few years. I've been learning this piece for about 5 of those years. Not even joking. There are many parts that suggest Mr. Dawkins has gynormous hands and the glissandos in the middle (starting 3:42) are really difficult and your attention is split from the left hand which is doing it's own thing. That's actually what I've spent the majority of those 5 years trying to learn. Lol. While I can play the notes, I just can't perform this piece at speed.
I heard a clip of this recording on a Ram Dass documentary and had to find the full version.
Wow. It speaks so much. Thank you for helping me to heal.
Hey, that's exactly where I heard this, watching Ram Dass docu few weeks ago and I was immediately hooked. Took me a few days to track it. Ever since I've been obsessed. Btw the version of "row... row your boat.. " was very cool too !
"Let's walk each other home .. "
I'm insanely fall in love with this piece!
there's so much passion from this song. It makes me cry, think, and dream all at the same time. A whirlwind of emotions. And it's beautiful
[eyes closed] I'm walking on a beach at sunrise and breathing the salty air and mediating on a life fulfilled.
Now all I have to do is get there.
the song certainly helps.
:)
did you got there?
Ram Dass brought me here. Honestly this is beautiful.
Still listening in 2019💜
so simple and lovely-- just beautiful
this is one of my favorite movies of all time.. and such a beautiful soundtrack..
Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
Amazing film, I'm speechless.
One of the most wonderful classical pieces ever written!
Seriously can't stop listening to this beautiful and powerful music.
I know the music from the short movie Ram Dass, Going Home. Beautiful
Please, upload that part when he talks about his past, his losses and his regrets, when they play Bach...
Oh, how much i love this music, this movie.
Thank you
Amazing film and one of the most amazing human beings of all time. Finding moments of happiness in nothing but his mind. We could all learn alot from this fine human being. Not sad; absolutely uplifting. This guy is a role model.
@M
No man on earth is perfect. Each of them have their own ways of weaknesses.
The tears don't stop until the song is over..
Beautiful
What a difficult flick to get through; however, this music is absolutely wonderful.
absolutely brilliant.
I’ll always love you. We’ll always have those days together when we were young. Trying to figure out what love was.
this movie reminds me of 1 Litre of Tears..(it's about a teenager who came to carry a disease that slowly unabled her from walking, talking, eating, and writing..it's a drama that'll literally make u cry 1 litre of tears..well, i think i cried more than a litre)
both about real ppl who were diagnosed with illness that paralyzed them..n how they looked upon positive aspect of life rather than giving up..
it's just so inspiring how they went on, knowing they can never be 'normal' again..
simple but deep, sad with hope...just being touched every time I heard it...
great film, great music
so happy after a few years searching for this sheet music i finally have it!
Thankyou so much for uploading this, a beautiful film and score

2021
Very nice
Does anyone know where to find this? It’s not on Spotify unless it appears under a different name. The soundtrack to Diving Bell is not there.
Che Bello!
me encanto mil gracias me encanto la amo es genial la andaba buscando
Who are the two losers who gave this beautiful piece a thumbs down?
One of the best films of the decade, along with Mulholland Drive, The Lives of Others, Lost in Translation and United 93.
Es un largometraje formidable; está muy bien hecho y primorosamente complementado con su banda sonora.
El paso de estas notas por mi cabeza trae a mi ser un mar inefable de sensaciones que en la película casi me roban lagrimas
I would suggest firstly, Yann Tiersen. he has many pieces that are beautiful and not just his compositions for Amelie. Also, you can try Jon Brion and many classical pieces by Chopin or Debussy :)
Also please check @pianodiary on Instagram and CZcams 🔥🔥🔥
The indy short film "Wednesdays" brought me here.
How can something so exquisite break your heart so?
truly painful/beautiful
me too! i love it and i have learned the first part right hand by ear but the rest ummm i can't since i'm only 11, but i would love to find the sheet music for diving bell and the butterfly theme
for those of you who play, is this whole piece played on one piano? the middle piece sounds so full it seems impossible to be coming from only one. im starting lessons soon and cant imagine how long it would take to get to this level of playing.
Maggie Last one piano played written by paul Cantelon a wonderful film composer
Paul Cantelon is writer and performer I don’t know why it says Trent reznor is writer ?
Please find it here on composer Paul Cantelon's website, only recently became available last few years, you can study the piano piece, always worth purchasing these to help support the composer. Middle vivace section the most challenging...

@TrillianS8 brilliant

Suena al alma de mi perrito que ya se fue
Kelebek Etkisi
anyone have sheet music?
hey does anyone know any information on the score for Conviction by paul cantelon?? was that music released? or...where can i listen to it?? there is only one song on youtube from that movie
on a random website, the link isnt up anymore but i have the pdf file
do you still have the pdf with the piano sheet?
Please find it here on composer Paul Cantelon's website, only recently became available last few years. Absolutely worth the price purchase, you're supporting the composer also.
Middle 'vivace' section the most difficult but the exquisite slow main theme to the movie is playable even for non-advanced players due to slower pace

it truly can all change that fast... everything you know... everything you thought to be true... everything you have loved or felt a passion for in your life... *POOF* gone. But when you have nothing... in the end... you can still... blink.
My heart also feels this so deeply from exactly what you describe - This piece began to connect me back to life and the faintest hope through the release of floods of tears after loss and listening with complete focus.
Yes it can and this gives me a moment of calm in the storm
If I find the sheets, I'll give it to anyone who asks for it. but I don't think being 11 should stop you from learning the rest of the song by ear too my dear, afterall Mozart was composing at the age of five ;)
@myoozikel
this song reminds me of gymnopedie #1 by Erik Satie
can somebody give me the music sheet for this song? please...
Please find it here on composer Paul Cantelon's website, only recently became available last few years. Absolutely worth the price purchase, you're supporting the composer also.
