one of the best movies I have ever seen, riped my soul apart and music is just icing on the cake.
The book was FAR better, even.
Every time I watch this video, it makes me want to watch The Diving Bell again.
This song and montage capture the film perfectly - fantastic!
Read the book, watch the movie, listen to the song and then watch this video and you are almost guaranteed to cry... amazing.

Actually, Friday Night Lights was a movie before it became a TV show (and was a book before both). Explosions recorded the soundtrack to the film, but added no new material to the show. The show uses some songs, mostly from The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place (notably, Six Days At The Bottom Of The Ocean), but only one song (once) from the FNL soundtrack. And they were not the ones who wrote the theme song to the show, believe it or not.
Just some fun facts. :)

Your Hand in Mine never appears during the 5-year series, but there is plenty of other EITS throughout the show, and most of the other music is also Texas indie type music. The song, of course, is very common in the feature film FNL. EITS absolutely fits the show, check it out!

I remember telling someone that they needed to check out FNL (the show) because the theme song was this version of Your Hand in Mine. Mind you, I hadn't actually watched the show at that time, either. Upon doing so, I realized that I was not only incorrect in the theme song not being Your Hand in Mine, but it wasn't even recorded by EitS!
