I'm a stroke survivor and just stumbled across this film and found it quite fascinating. I had what's called a lacunar stroke nothing like the character in this film. But I still have to deal with post stroke issues and make sure I'm on a aspirin regiment and be careful about blood pressure. What a horrible thing having a stroke of this intensity... Sad.

Truly hope you’re well. I vanquished an aneurysm at 30 years of age that bled for five days before getting to a brain surgeon way back in 04 and ultimately caused a compounding stroke/subarachnoid brain hemorrhage as well.
A 1-2 punch to my right frontal lobe. Haven’t fared too well over the last 19.5 years and still hope to find a bit of ease before I get any older. Praying for the fall of this iniquitous system we’re all victims of. God bless you all and may our lord & savior Yeshua free us from Traptivity a.k.a. The CFR, FEMA & The Builderbergers.

I have the movie and highly recommend it....
I do the French audio with English subtitles.
It's truly a moving movie...more poignant when you survive multiple strokes as I have.
It's a movie that really helps a person appreciate their life.
    It's an incredible message.
    ENJOY LIFE - NOW 😅

Fun Fact: Both Mathieu Amalric (Diving Bell and the Butterfly) and Javier Bardem (The Sea Inside) acted as a real-life quadriplegic figure and both are them are also bond villains.

true , he was able to write a little book. The movie is quite uplifting when his situation is so bad. But he died.

Sam Harris mentioned this briefly on his 'Waking Up' app in the post-meditation context.
I have been familiar with Locked-in Syndrome as he used it for reference (but I am not sure yet if that's the case and/or if the protagonist had a stroke or not) - either way, it does make me squeamish to think about. However, it does help keep me mindful and humbled by our fragility and short life.
It's kind of ironic that I was distracted by his mention of this flick all while focusing on meditation, but I find the subject fascinating enough to make a mental bookmark.
Now, I am gonna get back to another meditation while the sun rises and my cat keeps making biscuits for me.
    Bye. 🐈‍⬛ 🧘🏻🐆☀️
