A wonderful film, and one that started to give me a panic attack whenever I hear the words "locked-in-syndrome". It's an unimaginable ordeal for a human being and I certainly would have taken the path of "Johnny Got His Gun" myself. But this film is also a celebration of life and it's a wonderful work of art as Mark put it.
Leading actors Mathieu Amalric & Emmanuelle Seigner deliver one of their best roles in this heart breaking, stylish, well directed & enjoyable biopic. (89%) (4.5/5 stars) (positive)
Thanks@badhead we can now hear the good doctor's opinion of all of the films from what he has called the greatest weekend ever. It's unfortunate that I missed out on this episode of the podcast because I did not start listening until March 2008
Yep. I echo the thanks. Especially for this review for one of THE best movies of the last ten years. It blew me away and pretty much changed my opinion on the topic of euthenasia.
such a moving film...Kermode is dead on when he says this is a sensuous experience, you can almost feel every frame of Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
