is it sad that I cry everytime I hear the music from this film? Its just too gorgeous. I've heard this so many times before too, but it always gets me.
"they made for themselves a sanctuary from trachimbrod, a habitat completely unlike the rest of the world. no hateful words were ever spoken, and no hands raised. more than that, no angry words were ever spoken, and nothing was denied. but more than that, no unloving words were ever spoken, and everything was held up as another small piece of proof that it can be this way, it doesn't have to be that way; if there's no love in the world, we will make a new world, and we will give it heavy walls, and we will furnish it with soft red interiors, from the inside out, and give it a knocker that resonates like a diamond falling to a jeweler's felt so that we should never hear it. love me, because love doesn't exist, and i have tried everything that does." -everything is illuminated
@@ienutapirvu48 Do you realize how ironic your comment is? This movie was about Stepan Bandera genociding jews, poles and Russians. The village that was wiped out, was done so by Stepan Bandera. The same Banderites that run Azov and many of the nationalist groups that celebrate Stepan Bandera by the thousands on the streets. Insane how you could miss this.
You're dealing with European, and especially Eastern European sentiments, mixed with Kletzmer influences. Deep emotions are part of our everyday life. Just enjoy!
Sad but beatiful! Love it. Apenas vi la película hace unos dias y me quedé enamorado de la musica. I could imagine what those people had to live during WWII. Touching
Having seen the ocean of sunflowers under endless blue sky, growing on gentle hills that look like waves when the busdriver raced past them with no fear for God nor Death. Onwards, to Odesa. I will never forget that journey and the movie never fails to bring me to tears. I still dream of that ocean of sunflowers.
The craziest thing about this movie, was that it was about the Stepan Bandera mass genocide jews, poles and other slavs. It applies to Ukraine now as a modern state. I sure hope people don't miss out on this.
