What's more disturbing is that Vader knew what he was doing was wrong at this point and continued his genocide anyway.
Anakin knew it was wrong and wanted to atone. Vader was the dominant personality who felt every evil act was justified and continued on the dark path.
*Megalovania intensifies*
@C.J
The jedi were noble and good, but became arrogant and paranoid when the darkside clouded their ability to use the force. Instead of evolving and figuring out new ways to fight the darkside. The jedi stayed loyal to their old ways due to the paranoia of not being able to use the force to their full extent.
Basically to sum up the jedis downfall. It was a classic case of old traditions being washed away by new generations, new eras.

This could've been the most amazing opener for the Obi-wan series... setting up so much emotion between Obi and Vader!
That would be incredible...
This comic truly saddens me. He’s in there but he’s so far deep in this whole, even if he knew a way to kill the Sith, he wouldn’t take it.
Anakin, what have you done.
He turned to his anger over his frustrating problems, rather than seeking out his loved ones who could help him. Like a pissed off drunk alcoholic who pushed everyone in their life away and has nothing but more drinks to look forward to in their future.
@@aguy7848 He had nothing left in his life. His wife’s and kids are dead, his master left him, the order he fought for torn down, his entire war was literally ending so he had nothing left for him to do.

Ahsoka??? BTW thanks for helping me spell.
Basically what I’m hearing is that Anakin Skywalker has a more dominant split personality in the form of Darth Vader who represents his inner darkness
Correct. This was also alluded to in The Clone Wars, as well as shown in Rebels and the comics.
So Anakin essentially has DID...
@@thewarner2139 out of curiosity where in the clone wars are you referring to. I noticed he had moments like that but it more came off as bipolar disorder then split personality but im wondering if I missed something specific
@@chrisdavis7836 The incident with Clovis in Padme's apartment. Afterward, Anakin and Padme both allude to the fact that someone else takes over when Anakin becomes angry. This is shown in full during this comic issue, as well as in issue 24 of Vader 2015, and referenced directly by Dave Filoni during the Rebels season two finale. He says Anakin and Vader are two different people.
@Jacob Scahller
why else do you think he learned force choke
had the force choke that lover of his who he dominated
Even though this is just a vision, there is almost zero chance Vader could beat Palpatine in a lightsaber fight. Anakin lost a lot of his mobility when he became Vader and his damaged limbs were replaced with cybernetics. He basically had to learn to saber fight again from scratch, and this task to build his red saber is early in his life as Vader.
yeah, the suit and cybernetics were intentionally designed to limit him as well. sidious knew anakin could destroy him on a whim and wanted to prevent it
Palpatine also designed the suit to be very vulnerable to electricity so he probably would have just zapped him from the get go
I personally think is was simply the force that was with him, amplifying his abilities further than even palpatine’s
I think Vader could tank hits from Palpatine in a lightsaber fight. The problem is Palp’s force lightning against Vader’s machinery. But, I also think Vader could have worked on his own to make his suit less vulnerable to electricity attacks, as well as creating some kind of a force shield technique to further protect him from Palpatine’s lightning. I’m not saying it would be easy for him, but Vader would have to consider
The environment he’s going to attack Palpatine in.
-His plan of attack
-How he’s going to get close enough to stab Palpatine
-And finally use his force pre-cognition to give himself the edge on predicting Palpatine’s next movement. Palpatine is probably too fast for Vader to react and have his cybernetics obey that quickly, but if he was able to meditate on the force to see ahead, it would be like he’s fighting blind but he wouldn’t need to see, just trust in the force.
He still could of defeated him, all he had to do is do it quickly before he could react
Anakin was always with Vader, lurking in the back of his mind, constantly trying to pull him back to the Light. Its no surprise that he almost succeeded a few times.
They should start a “what if” like marvel did
I can see that happening with an animated Disney Plus series or on youtube. Each episode can be somewhat short like 22 min and it covers stories from each era. What if Qui Gon survived his duel? What if Ahsoka didn't leave the Jedi Order? What if Han was caught in Corellia? What if Thrawn hadn't been captured by the Purgils and Ezra? What if Rogue One failed to transmit the Death Star plans to the Rebels? What if Luke hadn't rush off to Bespin to save his friends? What if Han had brought his son back to the light at Starkiller Base? etc. The only thing though is it'll probably open up plotholes and raise more questions but I hope it happens one day.
I would love that!
Lil Hutch Star Wars Theaory does that.
What if Disney didnt take over Lucasfilm? and What if the sequel trilogies were actually good?
This was written and published by Marvel Comics, so I wouldn't put it past them.

Which is part of why the Ralph McQuarrie Darth Vader concept looked so menacing
It is undoubtedly an ending that we desire. Yet, it is still heartbreaking to see that Anakin was still alive somewhere inside Darth Vader.
Aside from Anakin folding Sidious in mere seconds, this is quite believable.
Well if Palpatine can floor Kit Fisto is seconds then anything is possible

@dragon duke yeah but this video is talking about a vision Anakin has before fully becoming a sith lord and the possiblities that could of followed if it became true.
The Crystal showed him that he still had good within him, just as Padme and then later his own son would say. And ultimately proved them both right in the end.
I think vader/anakin would've been stronger if he turned to the light again. The anger against his master, himself, the will to do right by padme and putting everything to hold the hope of redemption would give him more power and connection to the force. Since he was made of the force, mastering the 2 sides would make him extremely powerful.

Your video will make a fine addition to my collection
Every fiber of my body begs for this to be what really happen but my brain know it isn't possible
I think that's one of the points of the vision. It makes you wish things had turned out that way but it wasn't possible for Vader at the time. Only Luke could turn him back to the lightside.
Palpatine, while arrogant, isn't that careless. Remember he designed his suit to be very weak against lightning. Not to mention I'm sure he had a remote kill-switch for Vader's suit as well. Plus there's the possibility his aura would have been detected long ago.
He purposely used outdated technology as well to ensure Vader was under his control the whole time
Maybe this palptine is more cocky in this reality

Anakin/Vader has such an interesting personality. It’s like two personalities fighting for control over his body but the dark side was too strong in him
It's interesting because if I'm not mistaken green in a symbol of you being better at the force while blue is more of a lightsaber duelist. So from his training he became less strong in physical combat but became better at using the force to make his attacks more powerful
I believe this showed him his true self behind all the anger and hate it allowed for Anakin to show his true feelings and desire.
The vision showed Vader how easy and simple it would have been to choose the light and correct his path, why did he refuse and go back to the dark? It’s infuriating. Everything could have been better if he went down the path of the Jedi.
He had already commited Genocide against the Jedi, his body was mangled almost beyond repair, and he had lost everything and everyone he ever cared about. He was simply in too deep to go back at that point.
@@ChaoticTeen16 At least until his son and daughter showed up. If he had known about them from the beginning he probably would have left the dark and returned to the light.
He hates Obi a lot, and hearing his name, Anakin, it was that make him choose the dark side
Bro what was he gonna do? Find obi wan after trying his best to kill and betray him? Obi wan wouldnt believe he would turn back
First off....the disrespect on Palaptines name. That mofo would have destroyed darth Vader with ease. He would just lightning and it would be over. Remember even at Vader’s prime he was only 80% as strong as palp. That vision was nice but realistically Vader wasn’t going to get out of there alive. He would have needed to find obi or yoda to even think of fighting palp. Then second off I agree with the other comments, it would have made all his sacrifices for naught. Everything he did was to save Padme who died anyway so now in his mind he justifies it all to become powerful in the darkside of the force. Otherwise, he caused destruction for nothing and if the Jedi got back control, he would have to 100% answer for his crimes.
Honestly this makes more sense than the canon, I just re-watched Episode III and Palpatine lied to Anakin TO HIS FACE about everything and manipulated him BLATANTLY. If Anakin took even a moment to think back on everything Palpatine said to him and promised him, he'd see that Palpatine made false promises, accused the Jedi of potting things that HE was plotting, and turned Anakin into his obedient slave.
The only realistic outcome of this would've been Anakin immediately trying to kill Palpatine when he awoke from that surgery, fueled by nothing but anger towards the lying old ballsack. I doubt he would've actually turned back to the Light Side, but I see no reason for him to not hate Palpatine with every fiber of his being and want to kill him ASAP for screwing Anakin over.
Well, the thing to notice is that Palpatine is a master at manipulating people. He had a silver tongue and was able to convince millions to do his bidding. It's no surprise Anakin, whom was full of a swirl of emotions at almost all times and he had befriended, didn't see it. He didn't WANT to see it. Anakin only saw Palpatine as good.
Vader did hate Palpatine, don’t forget he tried to recruit Luke to kill him and rule the galaxy as father and son.
Vader wasn’t powerful enough to kill Palpatine. Palps designed the suit so that he could never reach his full potential and thus overthrow him. Vader had to wait for an opportune moment to strike
@@justineharper3346 yes, but if he get to the light side if the force. He can use the force so he can fix the errors in his sout, the light side are able to build and improve stuff, with the dark side is about anger and destruction
Analin has always been a volatile emotional wreck. And then the jedi left his mother a slave and assigned him to a guy who was just recently a padawan himself. Excellent decisions.

An astromech droid, sometimes shortened to just an astromech and also referred to as an astro droid, was a type of droid that served as an automated mechanic, performing a variety of repair duties and often serving as an adjunct or substitute for a nav computer on smaller starships. Astromech droids could also use the mainframes of larger ships to their advantage. Many starfighters relied on astromech copilots. An astromech droid's primary purpose on a smaller ship such as a starfighter was as a backup or replacement for a nav computer; however, due to the limitations of each unit's astrogation buffer, an astromech could only hold a set number of hyperspace coordinates. The droid also provided in-flight maintenance and repair, and performed a number of routine functions so the pilot could focus on flying the ship.
This bleeding crystals thing in the new canon is weird. I always thought it was red because the sith didn't know where to find natural kyber crystals so they used artificial ones
While there's a lot of damage new canon has done, a lot of good that was swept away, I like this change. It does a lot to underscore who the Sith are and their perspective on the force. They view it as something to be enslaved to their will, and their process of creating red lightsabers makes perfect sense in that regard. Does it sound cheesey relative to the former explanation, this idea of making a crystal bleed? Sure, I suppose it can, but those crystals are conduits for the LIVING force, and keeping that in mind the Sith process is essentially doing harm to that greater entity.
It's pretty metal. Like how Vader killed a light side opponent and taking his sentient crystal as a trophy. Then forcing that stolen sentient crystal to bend to one's entire anger, hatred, and suffering to turn its appearance to a crimson blood red color. I like this change.
In the original Star Wars concept the color of a lightsaber reflected the wielder's alignment to the force. Normal people had white sabers, jedi had blue sabers, and sith had red sabers. Synthetic crystals came about in Legends and were never how Lucas envisioned saber colors being explained.
@@cristian-ionutapostol8018 at no point do normal people have light sabers. To even use one you had to be force sensitive. White lightsabers have also always been rare, usually only Jedi masters could use one. Also if this was at any point true then any of the several times lightsabers changed hands so would the color but it always stayed one color until the whole purify/bleeding thing was introduced. And even then it wasn't something that ever happened in a way a reader/viewer could see(likely because it isn't easy and takes time).
@@UnitedGaming420 the color of a saber does come from how they are aligned to the force and changing sabers wouldn't change the color because its embedded into the crystal
The deleted scene where Anakin says ‘help me’ to obi wan on mustafar would change the ending narrative so much for me. Vader finding obi and obi disengaging his saber seems unlikely in that timeline. He wanted Vader to die for his decisions
But just show the green lightsaber, that would be enough to show that he went back to the right path

I like how in his vision he imagines Obi Wan on a beautiful planet instead of the reality of Obi Wan being on Anakin's home planet
You have to keep in mind that Anakin absolutely _HATES_ himself. Everything he did under the influence of the Dark Side, he sees as 100% his fault. He believes the eternal torment as Darth Vader (the suit/robotics are ill-fitting and cheaply made so as to cause as much discomfort as possible. Both to strengthen his connection to the Dark Side, and to weaken his physical capabilities so he's unable to properly challenge the Emperor) is well deserved. This event proved that the great tragedy of Darth Vader is that he KNOWS how unforgivable his actions are. He knows, after everything he's done, there's no going back. Going back won't undo his wife's death. Going back won't undo his scars. Going back won't erase his crimes, some of which are full-on genocide. Even if the ones who knew him forgave him, the galaxy at large would not, and rightfully so. As far as he was concerned, all he had left was his own hatred. Any idea of forgiveness or a better life was a lie, and seeing it only made him angrier because he knew it could not be and he hated being reminded of that.
Fun Fact: Mustafar is actually Vader's *least* favorite place too. He feels immense pain, and sadness and hate, and it fuels him into the powers of the sith. So it's a paradox
Don't forget *SAND*

I’d love if they explored this concept in some sort of “What If” storyline
Damn when he said it was all a vision... Even tho I knew it could not be true, I was shocked and sad. Maybe in another multiverse this is the path he takes

I read this comic when it was released and I right away knew that the lightsaber was actually a green blade so why is the thumbnail a blue blade for⁉️🤔
I actually found the blue saber in thumb to be more "epic" as remind us of him as when he was a Jedi in a sense...
Which comic series is this?
I was about to say, this is definitely NOT canon, and then I heard you say "it was all a vision." You know, I would really love it if star wars had different realities, universes, dimensions, etc. just like Marvel and DC, that'd make it more interesting
They did play with the idea - with the Infinities series, but never really expanded on the concept beyond one-shots or short comics.
@@koldraxonofthefirstseven5718 i wish they would do more
It's called fanfiction.
@@Royal420Way made by fans, but not official, do therefore, does not count
@@philipmartin3411 it's been 3 hours? I need to get out of bed.
I think it’s interesting, even with his limbs being artificial he is STILL powerful enough to overthrow Palpatine. The story was great because Vader saved his son, but still
I wanna see a continued version of that
They had us in the first half I’m not gonna lie
3:48 and cut! If that had gone down I would be happy with this version of Star Wars. The new tale of how Anakin would reunite with Luke and Leia. Anakin working to redeem himself and undo all the damage done to the galaxy. Instead we are ultimately left with Mary Sue and “all the Jedi” killing “all the Sith”, notwithstanding the fact that Mary Sue is also a Palpatine and therefore the Sith win by technicality.
