Change is hard, no doubt, and that original piece was gorgeous. What a testament to the prior owner's family.
At the same time, the chance to honor a departed artist colleague is special too and space to create new art, all of which seems like it was handled with class between artists and the business. Nothing lasts forever. At least all this work is representing and celebrating real, local people rather than something corporate or meaningless.
