Man, this deserves a whole interview with the guy in PR. I want to see the final product and his whole story.
That dude in Puerto Rico was waiting like a sleeper agent to buy that car and restore it. Lots of respect how quickly he jumped at the opportunity to get it done.
Wow it's amazing to see my car here in Vinwiki long time fan. I hope to finish the car in a few weeks. I had a delay trying to find a fusebox but managed to replace it now car starts. I also managed to grab a few years ago a gated murcielago dirty cheap lol 🤐 that i sold and a few other cool finds here in the island. Hope one day to share my story with you guys someday. 🖐
Thanks I am heading over to your YT channel to follow. Good luck!
I want to see Leonardo on VinWiki next!
Me alegra la representación, que aquí le metemos manos a los carros y duro !!!!. Que lo disfruten ...
What makes this even better is that the car got to stay in Puerto Rico!
Definitely a man after my own heart! I love how Scott can see through any reason NOT to buy a supercar.
Thanks Ed, loved to share this story and will do a follow up soon as the car is almost finished and transformed from how it was discovered.
Hey what part of England you in? Your welcome to come park a Ferrari on my drive😂
Good job mate! Another proper Testarossa saved from the scrap heap! 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 👍
Scott I got a question, the guy who bought it or who owned it, I was down there in 2000 and he didnt own a 25th aniversary countach in red with a wing did he, as I actually saw one driving around, like the only place in the world I see a countach running around naturally, and its puerto rico by the Palmas Del Mar Ponderosa up the road about 5 miles.
and I wonder if the TR was in the same area, like did I go by where that car was without ever knowing?
Excellent looking forward to seeing it restored 👊🏼
@@kavinskysmith4094 Ill check buddy !
It couldn’t be in better hands. The guys that restored it are really good people 👏🏽🇵🇷
How do you know? Seriously, do they have a channel?
@@Noone-jn3jp I know them personally. Real car enthusiast and very nice people overall.
It seems like it went to the right person. Good on you for facilitating the transaction.
The guy who's currently restoring this Testarossa has a CZcams channel under the name of 'Leonardo Junel' 👊🏼💥
Thank you for the info!
Thanks. I don't know why the fuck they wouldn't mention this in the video. Shady to the max.
@@joshuagibson2520 I was wondering the same as well. Why wouldn't they mention it?
Puerto Rico has so much more gold than the past two videos about it can even properly describe, the locals love drag racing to its core. You will find exotics and fancy cars but the hardcore passion is spread throughout all kinds of cars/boats/bikes/trucks
Yea only issue is most roads are trash here
This is Leonardo’s project. I’ve been following before the purchase and im amazed at how well the restoration is going. I used to think that a “barn find” like that was impossible here in PR
I need to fly down there and drive this car now Leonardo has almost finished it ....such a great guy
@@Ratarossa Definitely need a follow up video Scott. I remember how much amazing progress they'd made in a month
Hey, where can I see more of the project??
@@Vhicken czcams.com/users/LeonardoJuneldr he just posted an update video
@@Ratarossa hope to see you here soon. Puerto Rico is waiting for you!
I am from PR and live in the same city that car was located. It used to be at the side of my doctor’s office. I’ve seen it there in that same spot since I was kid. Happy to see it go to a better home
The owner is a great friend of mine, can't wait to see the finished product very soon! 🏁
his video is quite good..does he have a youtube channel too ?
@@benjy6358 would like to see some more as well 😊

Wow! It's great to hear this story and phenomenal to see the car getting back on the road! Good job getting the word out!
My island never disappoint! Respect to the saver of this legendary vehicle 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
i loved that gobbling.. AMAZING BEST GOBBLING EVER
Thanks, guys! It looks like those guys are doing a really nice job on the car... Can't wait to see it finished!✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
My TR didn’t have a cam belt change for 14 years and they looked new when we did the service. Usually the failure is the tensioner or bearing.
That’s a beautiful old Ferrari😍
Leonardo Junel has this Ferrari now. Not on the road yet but making slow progress.
Tha testarossa and f40 were my fav cars as a kid
Great Story!
The testarosa i think is the most beautiful Ferrari ever
well done Sir
Would you try to resurrect a project supercar like this?
VideoBob would!!!
With enough $ and time? Sure. Why not??
No - bjt too much, but I do resurrect motorcycles & jeeps. I can do a whole MC or one jeep for less than one Ferrari bit.
@@matthewmuellner we have a guy that goes by "The Jeep Guru" near where I live.
He's expensive, but his work is incredible.
I'd love an old cj5. In line 6 with a 3 speed manual, pull knob choke and drain plugs in the floor!
I haven't seen much from Leonardo's channel recently.... but he uploaded a short today.
The first super car i ever learned about i love them
I NEED to see the final product. Who would keep it in the sun for 17 years…. 🤯
I know a Testarossa in Honolulu owned by a widow who has let it sit in the covered car port for the last 15 years. It's pretty sad, she won't sell it.
I saw this in person back in 2018 while on a tour in PR
Fun fact: dodge used timing belts on most cars back in the day like and they snapped too but after 10 years so I think you can push it like a regular.
Just towed a 93 testarosa last week in much worse condition but it was cool to see one in person
I would follow that recommendation on the cam timing belts. I had a 78' BMW 323i M3 and I had not changed it and it broke in a most unfortunate time and bent 11 of the 12 valves in its head.
And those parts are very rare and expensive. Change the timing belts.
Would've liked to have seen a video of the restoration completed
CZcams channel Leonardo Junel
Puerto Rico🇵🇷
Loved the patina and worn look, would have loved for it to be brought back to perfect mechanical condition - but while keeping the optics as they were. Would have called it Ratarossa 2.0.
Great video
I remember following the guy on ig to see the progress idk what it looks like now but if I see a running testarosa in PR I’ll know
Now that I'm not working from home I can't comment in the top 10 anymore. Took an early lunch today love the content one day I'm going to be on this show
Does he have a CZcams channel?? Would love to see the rebuild
Leonardo Junel is his channel
Here is the link to the buyer’s channel

Better hope there wasn’t an outstanding parking ticket on that Tessy.
Need a link to the owners CZcams so we can see this rebuild

4:36 Crazy ?? or maybe they just did the belts lol, id chance it too.
If they are there and ain't snapped or majorly cracked... Hell yah im gonna try and start it.
It WAS a Testarossa just like this one actually!
I know the owner Junel. Friend of mine
30k for a Ferrari!! Bargain!
25,000 is the correct price
I'm glad to see Ticket Clinic as the sponsor again and not Raid legends.
I didn't know Rustoleum came in Ferrari red.
Yep, the only way to find a deal like this now is to be a CZcamsr.
LOL
Hey Ed!!
Good morning
Scott knows when he has button off more than he can chew. But he said 'girlfriend' and I thought he was married?
Let it be. Those dudes will enjoy their Ferrari in Puerto Rico, not like some car collector in US.
🤔 neat
Fast as fcuk
Do we know if the buyer in PR has a CZcams/Instagram we can follow?
Yeah he does, i looked it up and the channel is called Leonardo Junel.
About 20 comments are posted answering your question. Try harder.

Importing a car from Puerto Rico to Florida is hard enough, i couldn't imagine going to UK. The problem is that Puerto Rico's government is still antiquated in the sense that they still do paperwork manually. They make you jump through several hoops, and evenmake you hire a lawyer to fill out certain paperwork. Importing a car from US to PR is very easy, in fact it's so easy it's scandalous. You can buy a salvage title car here in FL, send car to PR, and government doesn't recognize title branding. So what happens is the title gets washed to a clean Puerto Rico title, then you sell the car and basically double your money. It's very common practice unfortunately.
Let me add the fact that cars are very expensive in PR. A new Camry that would cost $30k here in the states, the same car will cost $40k+, same goes with used cars. The roads suck A$$, potholes galore, so cars get tore up to shreds. Honestly, 20k miles in PR is like the equivalent of 100k miles stateside as far as wear tear on suspension and chassis. Cars don't really rust unless you live right on the beach, but body work gets decimated by the sun and extreme temps.
@@jcangler88 Yep these roads are bruttal on cars. I was actually looking to buy a foxbody mustang and ship it to Florida as they are cheaper in PR. But I didn't know the process was a headache
@@brandonw727Good luck! The easiest way to get a car out is through a moving company like Rosa Del Monte, but it's going to be expensive and slow. It would be cheaper and faster to go over their in person, but by the time I was done importing my grandfather's Jeep CJ-5, i wanted to shoot myself with how dumb the government operates.
@@jcangler88 Yea I live in PR now, everything is a pain. I bought my current car in November and have yet to receive the title. It's a beautiful island but doing anything involving the government sucks
@@brandonw727 they just need to make it the 51st state already, although the US federal government is stupid, it's whole lot better than PR government, less corrupt too ( i know, it's sad lol)
So, no pictures of the finished product or music for the ears? WTF!
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hello Ed 🙂
Hello!
Would have been more interesting to talk to the guys that actually bought and restored it. Get on that Ed. It's amazing how much they accomplished in a month.
Where was Freddie?
Now, what would be funny is that someone buys it and ships it "sold as seen", and it was just a body-only kit car with a VW engine in it or something like that!!! 😊
Many years ago, my friend had a 'Ferrari' body over a VW engine! 😊
He was only 21 at the time, he was just pissing about with his mechanical skills and what not, and he could *not* afford a Ferrari! I don't know how he did this though: obviously it didn't sound like a real Ferrari, but he still managed to get it to sort of 'growl' and basically make it NOT SOUND like a VW Golf! (It _was_ a shit-hot-fast VW Golf but... anyway, yeah...!) 😊
Talk about "fake-it-'til-you-make-it"!? 🤔😜
*But* the joke was on him in the end though!
He wasn't able to drive it legally, because in the UK you have (had?) to be minimum of 25yrs old to get INSURED(!) on a Ferrari!
Though I think he could've done an another additional, advanced driving licence, and that _would_ have allowed him to get insurance for it.
(I think that still stands, I mean, having to be 25yrs+ to get insurance for a high performance car?)
The insurance companies wouldn't touch his car for the basic reason that for all intents and purposes - it looked EXACTLY like a Ferrari, therefore to a layman thief, it WAS a Ferrari! In other words, it was highly likely to be stolen whilst parked on his council estate where he lived! 😊
Also, trying to convince the insurance companies that it's just a 2litre turbo VW and is only worth say, a couple of grand at most, really fucks with whatever algorithm or system they're using!!! So they just treated it as being a Ferrari! 😊
its not that you CAN'T get insurance on a hyper/ super car under 25; rather, it is the fact that it is hugely expensive- boy ( and girl)-racers pushing everyones insurance premiums up when they have their ( inevitable) crashes and other such mis-haps!
🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 wepa
The Testarossa is the only one I would own. I don't like anything they have offered since the 90s'.
Don’t forget the 40% of $30,000 for the import fee
No tax on cars already in PR.
Wow. If you guys are interested in hearing about projects I thought about doing but ultimately didn't then hit me up. I got stories for weeks
Pinta el carro y no cierra las ventanas de la marquesina 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Why would it matter if you broke 17 year old cam belts that would 100% need to be changed anyway?
errr because you would potentially bent 48 valves and have massive engine damage which would cost a fortune to repair
The Testarossa and the F-40 are my favorites of Ferrari cars.probably the 308 and similar cars from the series would be my second choice .I would never drive anything they built after 1995. I just think it's all overpriced junk after then. And NO Lamborghini after they built the Countach. All overpriced junk.
(I work on these cars, I know what they are.Wolkswagenwerk makes a fine engine for the Lamborghini, but that is all that is worth keeping from new ones.) And just because it is in a Lambo, does not mean it should cost 10× what a VW part costs.
Someone needs to do a cannon ball run in an Altima. They naturally drive like crack addicts running to go sell their food stamps. it’ll go under the radar as long as you go triple digits
🇵🇷🇵🇷
🤙🏼🔥
Cheap yeah they are cheap I’ve seen kit cars built better.
🇵🇷
I unliked this video just so I can relike it. Ed you have an awesome channel. I’ve been following you since you sold Rob Dahm his car when you just had an IG.
Damn, 2nd viewer, first comment. Nice.
Not my type of story but outta loyalty 2 this channel I watched it.
So, this is a story about another story? Talk about hearsay; there's no real story here.
You guys are fake,,that car is in PR and is running and restored..by Puertoricans not you guys. There are videos from the restoration.
This is why NONE of these cars should be in third world countries.
Puerto Rico is not a third world country. It is a third world US Protectorate. :-P
This guy is almost as annoying as Sam Hard. Maybe it’s just this accent, but I don’t think it actually is.
Car has been restored!
