Your friend would be so proud of you, Cameron.
❤
Did you know him
@@terrytownsend5583
Well, they were friends. A friend would definitely be proud of their friend for making it through such a struggle. Do you not know this?
@@terrytownsend5583 imagine being an unoriginal boring troll in 2024
He would be so very proud of you Cameron🙏
Mark, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that you're going to other states and interviewing people besides just California!!! Keep it up! Much love from Minneapolis Minnesota
It will be interesting to see the different demographics and diversity of the people there in
Pictures of the crash would have ripped this interview off, but a great and interesting interview all in all great job
Keep it up? You know traveling costs money right?
@@laurasims6369*their*. I can't help it.
.....he has always done this. There are interviews from WV, Kentucky, Florida, New York, Las Vegas, Thailand, and more I can’t recall. He has been doing this for years at this point
Lovely young man. I wish him a bountiful and happy life with his wife and baby.
Agree!
My best friend is currently in a coma in ICU due to a wreck. Her husband was going over 100 mph. Her husband did not make it. It was NOT an accident..💔
Im so sorry about your friend. You give me hope for my best friend. 😢😢❤
Hi Mark, I think that could be a new focus of the channel: motivating and inspiring stories of people who overcome difficulties
yesssss!!!
I was hit head on by a truck driver and have a brain injury. I became unemployable. He’s doing well. Go forth and prosper young man!
I hope you're able to find things that bring you joy and fulfillment.
Can you not complete simple tasks?
I don't know your situation but lm still working with Leukemia and my mama still works full time at 70.
I wouldn't be able to survive on disability.
I couldn't even pay half my mortgage
@@DonnellOkafor-pd7yndisability is such a joke.. it’s impossible to live off of and that’s very sad to me.
@@DonnellOkafor-pd7yn what’s the point of your reply?
@@DonnellOkafor-pd7yn congrats! Would a simple task job pay my mortgage? Or should I explain in depth how my brain injury works? Or doesn’t?
""The greatest thing we can do is persevere". Thank you for the reminder, Cameron. I lost my mom in 2016 to cancer and I'm constantly inspired to be the best version of myself from stories like yours.
I'm a survivor of a drunk driving accident. I was left with a severe traumatic brain injury. I was in a coma for one and a half months. The drunk fool who nearly killed me is constantly on probation. Never served his full maximum sentence.
My whole life was different now, I had to start anew again. My accident was in May 1993, and I kept going. Despite everyone leaving, I chose to learn about my brain injury and all the issues. Day by day is a challenge. someday, someday, they are good someday and are difficult. Living with a brain injury is permanent.
Keep on going!
Bless you. ❤
Cameron here. The driver that hit me was texting and driving, arguing with his girlfriend, in fact. The driver in particular went to school the next day and found it humorous that his wrist was broken without any mention or show of regret for killing one and almost two people. I understand the rage, I felt it for so long. I don’t think there’s any good advice to be given there. I just tried to focus on doing the best I can for me. To use my story to give people some hope and to spread awareness of just how selfish that decision to focus more on other things than the wheel is when it could put others lives at risk.
@cameronasher3958 Hi Cameron. I was really intrigued by your interview with Mark. The driver that crashed into my car was bar hopping all night, no license, on probation for a DUI, stolen plates, and driving unregistered car. I was told as soon as he saw me lying in the road he fled.
After 30 years, I can say I'm at a much better place, I work with animals, which is the absolute best therapy for me, I focus on the positive and good in my life.
I'm very happy for you and your new family. Best wishes and be well.
@@wendymarie7151 Thank you. My prayers and best wishes to you moving forward as well. Life is beautiful.
Hearing him talk about his freind is incredibly moving. Thank you Cameron. You’ve made a bad day much better.
The older I get the more car crashes terrify me.
Same..
Me as well. I think about it every time I get in the car. Saw a horrific crash yesterday. It was at a busy intersection. I used to drive a lot to Colorado, my home state, from Oklahoma. I haven’t visited my mom since 2020. Trying to get myself to go again. I’m not going to fly either. That’s a whole other thing. I’ve flown a lot too. USAF veteran and overseas twice. Just don’t know why I overthink everything now.
@@soonerbmama6727 just pay attention and be aware of your surroundings. you'll be fine. take a road trip. you just have to force yourself to do it or you'll end up locked into your fear.
@@penoyer79 it's not true that if you just pay attention to your surroundings you'll be fine. the negligence of other drivers can still cause a crash no matter how aware and careful you are being. now that doesn't mean people should stop driving and stop living their lives, no. but saying to just pay attention and you'll be fine is inaccurate.
Saw a 12 year old girl die from a T-bone style accident just like this guy couple years ago. She was passenger side and it was almost instantly. Never escapes us. Drive slow and check both ways. God bless
Damn.. the way this man captivates you.. straight tears flow down my face as he describes coming out the darkness to see the light…
When I had turned 21 while I was going to the university of Cal Poly Pomona in Southern California, I was hit by a car going 40-45MPH through a residential neighborhood while I was crossing the street. I suffered from a temporal fracture on the left side of my skull, brain swelling and bleeding, broken left collarbone, fractured right fibia (or tibula I don’t exactly remember), and partially torn right acl. I was really messed up for over 3 months but I made a fully recovery, earned my bachelors degree, and am currently a law enforcement applicant. God Bless.
My daughter had a near fatal accident August 23 broke both arms and a leg, resp arrest, spleen, lung and brain contusion. She miraculously recovered and was back to work in two months. Fast forward 7 months, she was driving in the interstate almost home early in the morning lost control and this time didn't make it. 22 years old. It's hard to understand and I'm so sad but also grateful that she moved back in with me those 7 months and we had so much quality time.

So are you
Beautiful story. Wishing this wonderful man all the best in life. RIP to his friend. I do like to think his friend is with him, always. 🙏💐🙏
Maybe as his guardian angel, never know.
Interviews with others than you usually do is really cool
Very impressive. I think this guy is gonna do really well in life.
Dear Cameron,
God bless you and your loved ones. Your life story is a profound act of grace and perseverance. I wish for you a wonderful family life ahead!
My nephew was in an accident with his best friend. His friend died as a result also. My nephew was completely changed in much the same way as you. It took many years of hard work and counseling for him to get through the “Survivors Guilt”.
I am so proud of him and of you Cameron, for not giving up. My nephew, like you, made the decision to honor his friend’s life by doing his best to succeed. Now, at the age of 38 he has gotten married and has two lovely little ones. It makes my heart glad to see that you and my nephew have renewed hope
to live well in honor of his best friend, just like you.
You are a miracle indeed.
Making your life count in honor of your friend is beautiful. May your life’s legacy be filled with gratitude and mission to life with purpose and meaning.
I send you my love and respect dear Cameron.
All the best to you.
Thank you for sharing with us. ❤✊❤️🙏✝️🙏🙋♀️
Neurological trauma-can be overcome but like this man it requires a lot of work and much much effort, speaking from experience
Well done man. One can only imagine what that life changing moment felt like, and it’s not a pleasant feeling. An impressive bounce back, from an unfortunate injury.
What a wonderful story!! Mark you pick the best of Appalachian Americans to talk to. Also, got my signed copy of your book last week!!! Beautiful book!!
These have been so much better Mark. Much luv to all
You’re a bright light! Congratulations on your new baby.
What an amazing young man.If we could all go through life with such a positive outlook the world would be a better place.Best of luck to you and your new family!
Wonderful young man.
So nice to see the rare interview on this channel where the person is functional and doesn’t just make excuses for their problems.
The vast majority of your interviewees should watch this interview and learn from it.
What a wonderful guy. Best wishes to you and your wife Cameron on this little blessing.
The last few interviews have been really AWESOME !!! Thank you Mark !!!
***"persevere"*** An inspirational example right here! Best wishes starting your family
“A place where brilliant people are born and brilliant people can stay!! “ YES! I love Appalachia! ❤️❤️❤️

Wow! What a truly remarkable story! You’ve been through so much grief and loss yet you chose to get better, not bitter. And you have certainly inspired many others including myself! Much love from Columbus, Ohio! ♥️

“Everything that I pushed myself through made me better in the end” wow I really needed to hear that. I have an important meeting tomorrow and I am so nervous. But this video, Cameron made me feel so much better. Thank you Cameron ❤️
Hope your meeting goes well :)

Loving these different style of interviews! This interview was uplifting!
Thankyou for sharing your story and ongoing recovery. I wish you and your wife all the love for the future and lots of happiness with your bubba. ❤
Wow what an inspiration Cameron is to everyone and especially to honor and keep his friends memory alive!! Many blessings to his family… his wife and his baby. He is such a great guy and has the best outlook in life. Such a great interview Mark! Thank you ♥️
If I EVER wanted to see a person interviewed it is this man. May God continue to bless and keep you in EVERYTHING you do. You are AMAZING! Sending you love from Harrisburg, PA. Your friend is PROUD❤
What a wonderful young man!!!
Wow! I don't usually comment but this story touched my heart! ❤️
Trauma can either destroy you, or make your foundation unbreakable. After losing two young children, dealing with spousal abuse and addiction - I wake up every morning, look at my sons and my husband/best friend - and I wouldn’t have asked for a life different than mine. It teaches you how to appreciate every single minute.
This was a great video. He was so well spoke, I never would have guessed he had a TBI. Well done.
Good Morning Mark 🩵 Cameron you are such an inspiration.
An amazing story & interview. Survivor's guilt. Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊 I wish him all the best. He's so lucky to have made it through such a difficult journey. So sad that his friend didn't make it. 😳💔😕
One of the best interviews yet !
Sad yet heartwarming
Best wishes to you Cameron. You were spared because you have a higher purpose in this world! ♥️
You're an inspiration Cameron, thank you.
Mark knows what his core audience are here for - for our need to better understand each other, at least trying to keep in mind that everyone I might be passing by today has their own story, wins, losses, ups and downs. My takeaway from most of these interviews is to at least try to be a more patient person, even when I don't always feel like it, (or when someone's being a total asshat) because who knows what they're going through. And working towards having more compassion (I think) is what separates us from just walking around, existing in our shells, reacting entirely from my own perspective, to being more fully human.
You have a super strong will to live Cameron. Respect!
Just how he loves his home, I feel the same about Iowa. Lived here all my life and have no desire to leave.
I lost a close friend to cancer its crazy how you find yourself realizing how lucky you are to be alive and a little bit of guilt that you got to have kids and have a wonder life and there in the cold ground it's pretty sad .
Best wishes to Cameron and his family.
Inspiring person.
This was the most inspirational interview I've seen on this channel for a long, long time. Carry on, Cameron. You have a whole new fan club.

Great interview!!!!
Very interesting , so glad this young man is here , my immediate theory has to be ,after hearing what he said stopped him taking his own life , and the mysterious way he survived against all odds , you've gotta ask ,is he carrying his dear friends spirit 😇
Wonderful presentation, Mark. I think a steady diet of positivity is what you need after your efforts to help some troubled people was met with negative results. Cameron's story might have revealed a tiny light at the end of my tunnel as well.
Powerful story. Thank you for sharing.
Loving the new direction your channel is taking❤
Thank you for sharing your story Cameron.
Feel great for this young man. He can help many people. When you struggle, point yourself in a good direction. Small steps will take you there. Be patient. This is how I got through severe depression but can be applied to any struggle. After thousands of small steps and 8 years, I got to the other side. I kept telling myself, someday, I will look back on this.

Most don't realize how conflicted Appalachians can be about whether to stay or go. My family migrated north to the auto plants. My dad always wanted to go home to Hazard KY.
This made me feel sad but also uplifted by Cameron's story. Best of luck to him and his family.
