Damn ‘03 might’ve been the last truly good year for brawls. As soon as they started testing for steroids they calmed down a lot
Ahhh 2003!! Greatest Year Ever!! Missing it a lot. Best year of my life.
Pedro was just showing Zimmer what the grass looked like up close 🤭
That Mota vs Piazza one makes me laugh every time
Look like I'm watching National Geographic fight 😂🤣😂
The Zimmer take down always gets me…LMAO 😂
Exactly. Zim charged him and Pedro just pushed him aside.
That's my favorite...it looked like a WWE move🤣
Yankees went on to become the AL Champions in 2003, but ran out of gas went the Yankees faced the Marlins in the World Series. So by default to be fair, the Marlins had the last laugh when the Marlins won the World Series.
@@BuccaneerBruce It would have been funnier if Pedro just sidestep him completely and let Don fall flat on his face.
you like to abuse old people, got it
2003 is one of my favorite years.
Mine too!! It's my favorite overall!! Everything was perfect in 2003. Life was beautiful back then.
@@musicman76enator and that's why I miss 2003 I was 2 years old.
Manny acting all tough over a pitch that wasn’t even inside, just high
Red Sox/Yankees in the early 2000s? Someone on one side could have sneezed and the other side would have taken it a a death threat and charged the mound.
@@jmulve2
The Sox were and still are baby Charmin soft.
Bias aside, you're 100% right. Every game you watched between Boston and NY felt like it was gonna pop off
I still don’t know what Pedro was supposed to do there. Let the old coot bowl through him?
Yeah I'm with you.
Why is this the only other option ever presented? Maybe...step aside? Do anything besides grab a 72 year olds head and throw it to the ground? Pedro even felt it was so horrible what he did that he called it the biggest regret of his career
@@tony_anello
I'm a Yankee fan and we loved Zim. But he charged at Pedro. Pedro has every right to defend himself.
@@tony_anello Zim was crying at his press conference with embarrassment, too. It was endearing: he just didn’t think it through in the moment. Pedro rightfully has regrets, that’s understandable - but it’s still a man charging you in the heat of a competitive brawl. Not every basebrawler is Champ Summers.
He could’ve dodged him and let him fall on his own
I think you might be missing that one between Albert Pujols and Gary Bennett
I've seen the other ones. It was something worth watching.
That first pitcher backed up all the way into the dugout 😂
I miss the 2000's red sox/Yankees rivalry. those two teams used to despise each
And it's totally gone now. Other fanbases or younger fans don't know how real it was. I hated that team so much.
Charging Kyle Farnsworth is never a good idea.
Pedro tossing Zimm was epic.
Zimmer went at him and got what he deserved.
“Former high school foo , Great tackle there “
I alllllllllllways get a kick out of the Zimmer throw down--just watch that police officer come up and pat him reassuringly on the back. I could imagine the cop had a thick Irish accent and was telling him "You're ok now Don...you're ok now...." SMH....and Pedro, punk that he was, actually was pretty cool. It was more Zim tripping on his old man feet.
What's Pedro supposed to do, stand there and let Father Time clock him? Zim's lucky he just brushed him aside, he was going down anyway. There's a finite amount of steps before the legs give out.
Do you have clips from 01 and 02?
Do every year,pls?!2003 playoff is best!!
Freakin Pedro man 😂
Hey Manny put the bat down.
Carlos Silva is one lucky sob that his catcher was able to tackle Dunn from behind. Dunn would have murdered him.
Tim Mccarver is ridiculous. Blaming Pedro for defending himself against don zimmer charging towards. It doesn't matter if you're 22 or 72 if you are charging someone that person can defend themselves. Mccarver for years said that Pedro was wrong even after zimmer said he was going after Pedro. He said it the next day and continued to say and even with that Mccarver said Pedro was wrong.
Seeing Adam Dunn make a b-line toward me wouldn’t be a pretty sight .
The absolute loathing we had as Yankee fans for the Red Sox, and vice versa - it was palpable and virulent. Sadly, 20 years later, I could not care less about the Red Sox...and again, vice versa. I miss the rivalry.
3:04 Lol...No matter how good a pitcher ole Pedro was, the guy still looked like he obstacle course challenged his way to the US.
Pedro Martinez was always a punk.
Pedro was awesome 😎
Pedro Martinez is a first ballot hall of famer unlike Roger Clemens and A-Roid plus all the other cheaters you root for.
I met Pedro when I was a kid we used to chase down cars after a game at Fenway park because they get stuck in traffic. Pedro signed all of autographs on the sweet spot but he was angry saying where are your parents? Why are they letting you run thru traffic?” Unfortunately the light turned green before he could sign my baseball, but I was with 3 brothers and my cousin they all got autographs. How can you call someone who hits a player for crowding home plate a punk? It’s part of the game and he wasn’t head hunting like Clemens did when he hit Mike Piazza.
One of Only 18 other pitchers have reached 3000 strikeouts… a World Series champion 2004
3x Cy Young Winner
1999 triple crown winner
The list goes on and on. Educate yourself before you make dumb comments.
zimmer get out the way old
take the bat with you pitchers would learn dont do that
