The 80’s Mets team’s were notoriously known as the bad boys of the NL with the likes of Straw and Kevin Mitchell and Dykstra but in reality, Ray Knight was at the center of almost all of their fights. He was one tough SOB. And Cashen deciding to let him walk after ‘86 was such a mistake. He was a huge part of that team not only at 3B but in the clubhouse. A positive influence on some of the young guys and looking back now, they clearly needed it.

Padres vs Braves brawl(s) was the greatest 4 round team fight in history of all sports. Fans throwing beer in Padres dugout, 👮‍♂️ cops involved, old Fulton County Stadium all on TBS the SuperStation. What an impression left on a 13 year old

Definitely the best. I'm from KC and my whole life I've prayed for a brawl to breakout at a game that I'm at. Unfortunately in 34 years I've haven't been able to witness one live..........yet 🤞.

Ray Knight had an enormous chip on his shoulder in 1986. That whole Mets ball cub was pissed off and ready for a fight every night. What a great year if you were a Met fan!

Had that '86 team been a movie, we wouldn't have believed it. Never saw a more dominant team and no free agents(maybe Doug Sisk). The '98 Yankees were a older, more responsible version of the '86 Mets but team money was far more balanced in '86. When the Expos are a legitimate contender and KC is the defending champion, it speaks volumes for league balance.

The 1984 confrontation between the San Diego Padres and the Atlanta Braves had more footage. One of the players was shirtless and was furious at the fans in the dugout for throwing stuff at him and his team.
I guess likely due to time constraints and TV restrictions, that was not shown in the highlight footage with the woman commentator talking.
Not a good display for children since that confrontation got pretty ugly.
