Indian Springfield Dark Horse Review. Is this 116ci better than Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special

  • We review the 2020 Indian Springfield Dark Horse bagger/touring motorcycle in white.
It has a big torquey Thunderstroke 116 (1890cc) v-twin engine and pannier bags either side. Is it as good as the Harley-Davidson Road King or Street Glide Special though?
168Nm at 2800 rpm! What does the exhaust sound like?
What about size for tall riders?
We look at everything, including, engine, gearchange, sound, handling, styling brakes, seating position, size, weather protection, luggage capacity and modes. What's it like in the corners? Is it stable or twitchy?
If you are looking for a touring motorcycle or bagger/cruiser and are deciding which one to get; this review will really help you make an informed decision.
Big thanks to Motorcycle World in Northampton UK for loaning us this bike. Check ourt their website fro new and used models including, Indian, Moto Guzzi, Yamaha, Aprilia Suzuki, Vespa, Piaggio motorcycle-world.co.uk

You produce some really great videos. You cover all the basics spec wise, give valuable info on the ride and feel of the bike. Particularly for me, also being 6'3", the feed back of being less cramped on this vs. the Harley is really valuable. You also pick the most amazing backdrops to film against, really makes me want to visit England from the US.

One of the things I love about your channel is you give your honest opinion and even though you’re a Harley guy you still give credit when credit is due to non-Harley bikes. That bike is beautiful, and frankly, all I can say after watching your review is, Harley, you'd better up your game, and in a hurry unless you actually want to be left in the dust. This bike in white is a dazzler for sure.

A very pristine review of an Indian bike favorite! The mic and audio is much, much better and does finally compare to the visual aspects. A complete and visual review of the bike made with honesty and knowledge. Being on the taller side, I do find the Indian on a longer wheelbase to be roomy and comfortable to ride with ease and pleasure. The Indian appears as one badass bike with a wicked disposition for riding all day long! Thanks for such a review as to be far superior to like ones. Bless you. RideWithPeace.

I've ridden Harley Davidsons for years and loved them, but now I own a '22 Springfield. 2K miles in, and I can tell you I won't be going back. The balance of Indians is vastly superior imo. It's extremely nimble, with far less push. Don't get me wrong, I love all bikes, but for my money, having been on both for thousands of miles, the Indian wins me over hands down.

Thanks for the great review. I was looking to trade in my Dyna Wide Glide for a bigger touring bike. I was thinking about the Road King Special which I realy love. Then I came across this review. Since the Indian dealer is located few street from where I live. I visited them to see and test ride this exact same Smoke White Springfield Darkhorse. From that moment couldn't think about anything else. So I went to the HD dealer one last time to ride the 2021 Road King Special. I’ve been thinking of finally upgrading from my Sportster. I have ridden both the Road King and just recently got home from a test ride on the Vintage Dark Horse. I’m a Harley guy. Well, I could say I was. Indian is just a better package overall. Brakes and suspension was better. Engine was better. I could cruise a highway all day. I can do that on the road king too. But if I gave you an old coat hanger and an arrow and said “show that target with one or the other, you’re gonna pick the arrow over the coat hanger. The RK felt a bit like an old bent coat hanger in comparison. That might be a scathing comparison to suggest. Nothing wrong with a RK. But the Indian flogs it.

But some details, like this frame of cast aluminium was the main reason, why i decided against the indian and for the road king instead.

Which bike did you like more? I currently have a deal available locally for the two bikes and have been trying to make a decision on which one I like more. I bet the 116 ran well. So the only thing I didn't hear you speak much of was the suspension, except to say that "it wasn't a problem." LOL! Can you provide a bit more detail? I am curious. As for the heritage looks, I can certainly appreciate the styling, but in the end this is not a bike I would own. I would love a Chieftain that had this bike's dimensions and fit!
