      @@ronnierushing700 Dont' mind at all. It was a gear position switch. The digital readout became slow when changing gears up or down. Also, the factory was concerned that it would show neutral when it was actually in gear. The dealer fixed mine under warranty before the factory knew it was a more widespread problem. I subsequently received the improved switch with the recall.

      I have a '14 Chief Vintage. Nice looking bike but....I also have a '17 HD Road King Special. The RK handles better and is much quicker. Fit and finish is better on the RK. My major complaint is Polaris' warranty service, it sucks. You have to do backflips if you have any issue, however minor, to file a claim. The leather fading issue was handled badly by Polaris - I had to re-treat the leather on my own via the technical advice with leather professionals. Some of the chrome is pitting in spite of keeping the bike well cared for and maintained. The front rotors warped and the dealer did not consider, at all, that it was a warranty issue. Now I do believe there are some issues with the HD M8, however, I am more happy with the RK (mainly due to handling and the vast amount of accessories available for it).
      The paint quality on the Indian is lack luster, very fragile and easy to chip. Harley has the best paint quality, I believe, bar none, and that includes the automotive world too. I ride the Road King much more because I enjoy it more. Although a true comparison of the suspension and ride would be more fair (to Harley) with the Standard Road King. Between the Indian Vintage and Road King Special, the Indian is more comfortable over bumps. Again, they are two different suspension clearances so it would be better to compare it to the Standard Road King. The Indian is prettier, the Harley looks more bad ass. It really boils down to personal preference as I believe the Harley warranty claims are handled better.

I'm used to heel-toe shifting on my Intruder, and that would be a great feature on this motorcycle. The current shifter would have felt much nicer if I would have longer legs or even bigger feet. I bought a new 2019 Indian Springfield this year... holy cow brother you wouldn't BELIEVE how many comments I get. I've never had dudes roll their windows down at red lights and ask me Where I got it/How much it costs/etc... Harleys are cool, but Indians turn heads more, and to be honest come with just as much muscle and even more tech straight from the factory.

    The Chief Dark Horse is my dream bike. The look of them, especially with beach bars and a spring seat, makes me want to throw down the money even though I know it's a bad idea with my limited experience. I love matte black, and I love Americana. This bike is absolutely both of those. I'm currently looking at a used Vulcan 900 so I can get used to bikes that are bigger and heavier than the little Rebel 450 that I've been riding. Once I have the experience though, a Chief Dark Horse will be mine.

    • @whatsup3270
      @whatsup3270 Před 3 lety +4

      I own a Vulcan so I maybe bias, however you can get all the bike you will ever need for less than $5,000 if you buy Nov-Feb a near meant condition 6+ year old Vulcan can be purchased as low as $3,500. The bikes are very low maintenance and can easily run 100,000 miles

      @@iamIncrediblehulk Even when I was on my V Star 1300 my wife's Shadow 750 felt like a scooter in comparison. Maybe if you started on a Shadow and never rode a bigger bike that would be all you want... maybe ;-P But after riding an Indian a Honda Shadow isn't even close; as long as you're willing to pay the difference of course. Notice I said WILLING to pay not can AFFORD to pay. I hate it when people think that just because someone is riding a smaller cheaper bike it's becasue of a financial limitation instead of what they person wants to ride. BTW I'm not an Indian, or any bike (owned Kawi, Honda, Yamaha, Victory, and Indian), snob. But they're not even close to the same league of bike.

    If you have 8 bikes and if one of thems not an Indian you’re doing something wrong 😂 love that line. I work for Harley, and I ride an Indian. I love Harley’s cus they’re what got me into motorcycles, but I haven’t been on one that feels good. Every Indian I’ve been on felt smooth and much more controllable than any Harley. Not knocking em, but Indian specs their bikes a lot better for new riders and experienced. They price theirs more for a younger audience too. You get a much better bike for the price. In any class. And quality control and reliability.. omg. Why do you think Harley offers their warranties on used bikes? You buy one and if you haven’t visited the shop in less than 5k you’re lucky.
    I still love Harley’s, but being young and broke, and still a somewhat new rider (3 years) Indians my go to brand.
