    Indians. Most of these Chiefs never even make it to the showroom floor because they are bought so fast. We are having trouble getting enough inventory. Ironically we probably sell more used Harleys than the official HD dealership next to us haha.

    • @Ritalie
      @Ritalie Před 3 lety +3

      The older Harley bikes don't even have counterbalancers. You really can't balance a motorcycle engine. They need to have a counterbalancer, because there is no way to get the vibration down without a giant counterbalancer. The Haybusa has a counterbalancer. The small Royal Enfield 410cc Enduro has a counterbalancer. The DR350cc Suzuki enduro has a counterbalancer. The 1978 KZ750 twin had one. Some of the only motorcycles that don't have a counterbalancer are the Harley Sportster 883 and some of other older model air cooled Harley bikes. Also the KTM690 didn't have any counterbalancer and was really shaky until recently. It's just not acceptable anymore to build an engine that shakes.

    I am so indecisive right now. I got a 17' R3 as my first motorcycle at the end of 2019. I am so happy with my choice and I am trying to keep the bike forever. Obviously I am ready for something bigger and something ready for long highway miles. The 2022 Indian Chief Dark Horse and the 2020+ HD Low Rider S are the main two bikes I am looking at. My insurance company ruined my dreams of owning a Yamaha MT 10 for my second bike as the insurance is almost triple what I got quoted for the Low Rider S. One day I will own one but for now ill be happy with one of these beautiful cruisers. As for the two, the Chief Dark Horse definitely has my eye with the 116 along with that very nice dash. The Low Rider S refresh came out for 2020 and good lord I want it so bad. Yes, the Indian has a much better dash versus the tank mounted gauges on the LRS. At some point I figured, who cares about the gauges. With both bikes, id get an exhaust and wont need to look what RPM im at, since i'll hear where im at. I am very stuck right now. Both bikes are almost impossible to sit on because of stock levels. The new Indians are even harder to see in person since Indian needs a preorder to even send the bike to the dealer. I am very excited to test these two bikes out and see all about the cruiser life. Thanks for all the great content. Im always excited to hear what you guys think. Cheers.

    I’d try the new Street Bob 114 and the Standard if ci on a cruiser don’t matter as much. I think they make the best of the new Softail chassis. Dyna feels more comfortable as rider geometry goes imo but it just sucks at highway speeds and doesn’t even come close to how the Softail feels in a corner. I don’t think it matters which one you choose but they match up so perfectly that it really comes down to personal preference. I’d say the one thing I’d give the Chief over the Street Bob/Standard is not having the big ass primary sitting a foot behind the engine. I’m really not sure why Harley still uses that design. Me personally I have no interest in the Low Rider S because of the cost. I’d take a Road King over that all day.

    the turn-in is center of gravity... every Harley i've ridden holds the weight very high, whereas the Scout Bobber I owned and the Chief Vintage i own now both have the weight very low, giving them really great handling compared to weight. for an 825-850lb bike, i can play around with my Chief as though it were a much lighter bike.

      @@BeardedBavarianBiker. cool you know what i rode... i've always loved how just being on the internet gives people infinite knowledge. i've never ridden a touring Harley.. i've ridden a sportster, a dyna, a night rod, and a softail deluxe. they all felt like they had half their weight just under the gas tank. if they fixed that with the M8 bikes (*cough* bullshit *cough*) then good on them... only took just under 120 years.
      edited to add: let me amend this and say the night rod didn't suffer the problem quite as bad... but i never really got a good feel on it's handling characteristics anyway because after they made a decent decision to get help from a company that knows how to build engines, some nutsack put that beautiful, amazing gem of a boat anchor in the worst possible quirky-ass frame, and then when they decided to actually make it look good a couple years later with the night rod they fucking LOWERED a frame that was already low. the piece of shit scrapes pegs just wiggling it side to side on a straight road. one of a handful of decent engines they've made and they fucked it up on that garbage. so yeah, TLDR: fuck Harley and anyone that defends their idiot business decisions in 2021.
