    That backdrop looks incredible. It has a 3 colour pearlescent effect on camera. A very professional look. I've not tried the slick connects yet but I'm sure they'll be needed in my setup soon. Great video Dave

      AW Services thanks very much Austin. I’m really pleased with the backdrop. Just got to buy a stand for it now. It will be easier then clipping it onto an old pole🤣

      @@squeakycleandave1 if you carefully staple the top leading edge to some 2x2 battern you can create a blind effect and roll it up and have it on hooks. Or alternatively check out facebook market place and pick up a cheapo old protector screen and reconfigure the stand supplied with it.

    • @squeakycleandave1
      @squeakycleandave1  Před 5 lety

      AW Services it’s an 8’x6’ backdrop so I don’t think the projector screen would be big enough. You can buy the stands on eBay fo about £25 and they come with a green screen backdrop

    Just what I've been waiting for. I'll be buying a few of these, I like the old ones but my partner struggles to disconnect them under pressure. Also like the blue version. Would go nice with the water genie 6mm hose. Nice review as always Dave

    Hi Dave, thanks again for the videos. Just purchased the tubeless kit and slick connects. Annoying though they sent me 8mm so cant use it!
    Moving forward, as instructions very poor that come with it. The long hose that has the slick connect on, assume this attaches to the main hose in the van then you wind up all together? Just I assumed the hose real from van went directly to the pole where the shorter section of hose inside the pole? Ask as now means I two connections from reel than one? Thanks

    • @squeakycleandave1
      @squeakycleandave1  Před 5 lety +1

      ben cavanagh it’s true you do now have 2 connections but having the Slick were it is makes it much easier to untangle you Hose with the pole extended.
      The good thing about not having the pole hose go up the pole is how much it keeps the weight down.
      Who did you order the Slick from and did you specify which size you wanted. If you did then they should exchange it for you.
      Thanks for watching 👍

      Hi Dave,
      Thanks for the advise. Purchased from Sam at exceed, so purchased directly. Annoying as also spoke to them on the phone to explain what needed.
      Also Dave, using grippa tank plus their electric reel, but not finding it much good and want to change it , what’s your option on electric reels on make ie waterworks or cox? Just need something that works much smoother as with grippa tank you have to pull hose out from the reel then walk out out to where need to go, than just pulling the hose direct from reel. Paid almost £700!, and it’s not very good. Thanks again

      Hi Ben
      If I were you I would ring Sam and explain the problem although if you are using the Slick to attach the pole hose to the main hose on and electric reel it might not go through the hose guide so you would have to join it with a straight insert that you attach with hose clips so it might be worth sending back and getting your money back.
      With regard to the reel the only electric reel I’ve used is the one I made myself so I can’t really advise you on that but I’ve never heard anything bad about the Water Works one

    Great video, question about univalve installing on a gardiner slx 27, would you use PVC as standard hose or a pu hose

    • @squeakycleandave1
      @squeakycleandave1  Před 5 lety +1

      I use the hose that Exceed Innovations sell which I’m pretty sure is pu. I think Gardiner also sell Pu hose. It’s a bit tougher to work with as to start with it sometimes coils but I’ve never found it to be a problem. I found the pvc hose too stretchy and goes to soft when I use hot water. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching 😎

    I tried the mk 1 connectors and I couldn't get them to seal properly under pressure. after fitting 'O' rings the protective sleeve wouldn't go over the top :/ , I quickly went back to using simple aqua stop hoselock connections throughout

    Hi Dave
    When I had the old ones, they use to leak and tbh I wouldn’t mind having a go on these ones now. The one problem I had though was when I use to remove the one eared o clips from these and I used to snap the plastic.
    How would I remove the o clips without snapping it?
    Thanks

    • @squeakycleandave1
      @squeakycleandave1  Před 3 lety

      What I do is with a pair of nips I cut the ear off then prise the clip apart with a flat head screwdriver. It’s a bit fiddly but possible
