✅ 2009-2014 Ford F-150 Factory Fender Flare Removal and Installation

I am planning a future wheel upgrade and I want my fender flares to better match the new wheels and the existing trim on the truck. I show you how to remove the factory installed fender flares and install aftermarket ones in their place.
Tools required:
Push pin removal tool, pick or thin screwdriver, side cutters or needle nose pliers, 10mm socket and ratchet and optional impact.
Process:
Remove all push pins at each fender flare. There will be 18 in all. 10 in front and 8 in the rear.
Remove four 10mm nuts at the front of the forward fender flares.
Remove 4 bolts at the bottom of the rear fender flares.
Remove the flares by disconnecting the fender flares from the fender flare tabs.
Remove the fender flare tabs from the fenders.
Wash and clean the fenders. Optional: Apply wax to protect the paint surface under the flares.
Install the new flares.
Install push pins to secure the flares.
Install all the 10 mm mounting hardware.

Some cheaper versions. Yes.
Nice job and love the blue flame color. I have a white 09 and was wondering how the fender flares came off. Mine too are faded to a different color. I was going to take them off and repaint them.
I thought about painting mine but the prep and paint cost to do it correctly was more than just buying these new ones. Some may be happy with just hitting theirs with spray paint but in the end and a years time would they still look good? Others who have tried end up with peeling paint or paint that comes off when hit with a car wash sprayer. These have held up nicely.
BOSSC351's Productions I get my paint from my NAPA guy he getting it made with my paint code on the driver door. I painted my step bars and bumper pads. They look great.

I am using SEM trim paint on my Mustang parts. I painted my hatch and it would have been cheaper to just take it to a shop and have them do it.

Do you have to buy the bolts and nuts for the front from Ford? I hit a deer and the body shop had to cut the bolts as they were rusted up so bad on my 2014.
Not necessarily. Hardware store bolt bins are an option.
Why didn't you just paint the old ones and put them back on? Cheaper solution. That's what I did with my F-150 badges and they look better than the ones you can buy.

Jeremy S paint won’t stick to the textured plastic. It’ll maybe last a couple months before it starts flaking off

I doubt it. The body style for 2010 is from 2009 to 2014.
How do you install them when they didn't come with them?
Likely you will have to consult a body shop.

You can and it will work up until you go to a car wash.
@@BOSSC351sProductions I tried out the paint anyways on one side today, just cause I cant spend the money at the moment for new flares, but OMG, I really don't want to go through that again! Yes, as you showed, using a good angled pick to release the clips is the ONLY way to get them off. When I paint the flares on the other side, I have .7 mil plastic sheet I can slide under the flares and mask off the area I'll paint at.
If it doesn’t last for long, then I'll just get the new flares.

@@jimjammin1 I’m not sure of the paint longevity as I traded that truck in for a newer one in Dec 2021. But the result looked perfect, like new plastic trim.
