Actually it's very easy to spot if someone has a firearm. Specialist can tell 100% of the time that a person is armed from just how they walk. Unless you have a specialized microscopic gun any regular firearm is very easy to spot.
That's the usual stuff in this show... and in the original canon. It's a few years ago I read the original books, but there where a few stories where Holmes just talked convenient nonsense that somehow worked inside the plot. I like that in the show they often showed that he isn't always as brilliant as he thinks.
Depends on how much he already knows. A vet might be able to tell simply because they know the coarseness, length, etc at a glance to be different or same breed. Its not that his deductions are impossible but that one has to believe Sherlock is familiar enough with all this knowledge to be able to deduce it
So he looks at his head and figures out that ue's an office worker but looking at his shoes made him realise that his office must be indoors. Genius writing
Because of how he dressed. How he talked What he said "where you're going, you'll need to be dressed" Also because Sherlock is probably familiar with the kind of people that work for the queen since his brother is one. Also probably because the guy does stand out from the people Sherlock normally associates with. Then again this is show so no need to take this seriously.

Oh the show is FANTASTIC!! Better writing, acting, better attention to detail than almost any other program you’ve seen. (Unless you’re from England in which case it’s still better than most but your programs all seem remarkably good.) IMO. Once you’ve seen the full series, which includes an extra film (The Abominable Bride) between end of season 3 and beg of season 4, then you should also be sure to watch the Sherlock movies w RDJ and Jude Law. They are also wonderful, but in a completely different way. They take place back in the late 1800s (like the books), the director has a particular vision of Holmes that differs from present day Sherlock, and RDJ is also excellent in the role. I find it almost impossible to pick which Sherlock I prefer… 😳😳😳
That moment when I usually put my left hand over my right while standing at ease despite being right handed. Sherlock makes WAY too many assumptions lmao
Offbrand suit, he has a small gun concealed on the inside of his lower coat, he partakes in clipping of nails as a sane human being would, theres no way he could tell that he’s an office worker by his forehead, he’s ambidextrous, it’s fair to say he’s an indoor worker by wearing non-outdoors shoes, he has one dog that sheds a-lot and didn’t have time to clean the hair before he left. Never seen the show but these snippets make holmes look delusional
