Man this video tugs at my feelings. This WAS the very best piece of plastic ever. I've caught a very large portion of my bass on this bait for the last 4 years. I'm so disgusted with Strike King about this bait that I go through spells where I boycott them. I don't know what happened to the quality control at SK but starting last spring this bait changed. Every pack now has a few baits where the body and appendages are all bent up. And the mold doesn't have as much plastic in the head anymore which makes it tear even easier. I'm so mad a SK over this because I can go through a couple hundred packs of bugs in a year and now I've started throwing a different bug bait a lot more
That’s my favorite soft plastic, along side rage craw. Adding some spike it on the appendages, top by the weight and the head is money too. Especially in high pressure. Love your stuff Todd you’re a real one
Glad to see you have a tackle warehouse link cause I have made the tactical boys a lot of money lol. I like all of your videos but these helps more, living close to Jasper and not having a lot of time to fish. Keep them coming and keep that young lady sight fishing. You’re a stand up guy.
Birds told me! keep a fish tank in your family room. Study the fish to see what they eat, and it's the best bait you have ever used. Thank you, Todd. It's great stuff as always. Keep up the great work 👍 😂 Tube!!! come up North and bed fish 😅
Great video as always. You are my favorite fishing CZcams channel. You are 100% honest and I learn more from you than anyone else. This old man thanks you very much.
If you can’t get a haymaker, go with the Ryugi LT offset work hook. Ryugi was actually the first to do the extra strong wide gap hook with the hook point above the line tie. Not knocking the haymaker but I honestly prefer the Ryugi over it, the longer throat extends the life of the plastic, allows for more rigging options when trying to get a specific action out the rigging, and is just as strong and sharp. Also has the coating for better penetration. The Zappu Bellows hook is also a good option.
I constantly keep switching back and forth from the standard size rage bug and bandito bug trying to figure out which one i like more but in all honesty i catchem on both. Both are the right profile and action but regardless of which i use the blue craw or blue baby color is freakin awesome and without a doubt my favorite color. Great video as always cant wait for the toledo bend video to come out. I love watching videos on my home lake!!!
Good stuff. I love fishing the rage bug for a lot of my flipping. That and the palmetto bug when they don't want something flapping. Do you rip all of the the appendages off the rage bug?
The rage bug has won me a good chunk of change as well. You need to get with strike king and have them make the rage bug in a green pumpkin with a blue flake. I know I'm being picky here, but I'd love to the that color rage bug.
love the Rage Bug. 3 colors I always carry are Blue Craw, Green Pumpkin Purple swirl and Summer craw. Question on the Pipsqueak Poppen Pirch, Do you throw it on the same rod setup you do the regular one? Do you think I can get away with my standard topwater water Rod with 30 lbs braid?
Man i LOVE that bait.. I use the regular size and the 3" and only use green pumpkin blue craw, (moon juice-(ON A BUZZBAIT..) BLUE SIDE DOWN IN SLIGHTLY DIRTIER WATER THAN CLEAN, AND THE GREEN PUMPKIN SIDE DOWN IN CLEANER WATER!!! And black blue flake!!! Only 3 colors I use, mainly 2.. but I swear if I'm fishing for more pressured fish, (bed fishing) skipping docks and on a Carolina rig.. that 3" seems to get me a bite here and there when the bigger size won't.. but I use the rage craw probably 95% of the time when im using a craw style bait, great freckin jig trailer.. i can go on n on n on about this bait!!!
14:26 lmao i never fully understood when to use a wide gap or not until now i would just randomly throw them on random soft plastics NOW i get when to use them and when not to
Love your videos, keep up the good work. With the haymaker hook do you use it exclusively with this hook? Do you ever have a case where you use a straight shank flipping hook and snell knot. Asking so I can learn. I through a pit boss a lot with a flipping hook and have decent luck often, but loose a few. Could it be the hook?
Been pitching the magnum in the spring for sometime. I like to peg it on 3/8 or 1/2 ounce tungsten. Then throw it into buck bushes. Definitely gets bit, more than gets bit, get your arm jerked off.😎
I got my ass kicked yesterday morning/ afternoon. We did have a heavy storm come through & brought a cold front with strong winds, which dropped air temps 15+° . I saw a lot fish on LS but I couldn't get anything to bite. Looked like they were all holding close to bottom & I tried bunch different baits. I didn't throw a dropshot or jighead minnow. What do you do when cold front comes through in springtime? I'm in southern SC so I assume cold fronts affect these fish more than what I was used to fishing in OH.
Ok, time to talk about the dawn dish soap on the deck of the boat. I've seen it on the elites of them actually using a sprayer with it. It doesn't effect anything
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 You mention 4 sizes in the video but I only see 3 sizes on Tackle Warehouse Magnum 4-1/2", Midsize 3.38" and Baby Bug 3". When you say regular size do you mean Midsize 3.38" ?
Sorry for all the questions but which shaky head do u use? An on the Poppin perch there's 2 styles one the legs are separated an the the other the tail is fan(tale) shape which is better or why use one over the other?
So, the one you use most of the time is a 4". Can I throw a 4/0 hook on that one effectively? I'm a jig fisherman and I didn't know that the Spring is the least effective time to use a jig. I'll give the Rage Bug a try as the spawn is about to start here in the Northeast! Thanks
I’m very confident in saying there isn’t too many people that have caught more fish on a rage bug than I have. A 4/0 fit’s standard bug perfect. I use a 4/0 most of the time and a 5/0 sometimes
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 ok thats what i figured. i was fishing last weekend and lost a 5+. big for where i live. i just felt like the medium heavy i was using didn't help me driving the hook like i prly needed to.
I have never understood how people fish with a medium heavy rod when fishing that way. Don't take that personal, we maker jig rods like that but I don't user any of them for that
Man I swear ever since you started talking about the haymaker hook I can’t find them anywhere anymore. I’ve got my stash of them but gosh dang since you plugged that hook it’s been hard to get. #OwnerHooks should have their logo on your jersey!
Hey that tiny bug keep it under wraps bubba..... They don't need to know about em. I already know bout it on a ewg ned head and medium heavy spinning rod...... Shhhh!!!!!! Or even on a lighter lined caster and a small weight. I've said too much already.
Funny how everyone has a different favorite but most of the time they have only thrown a handful of different baits. Same thing applies for rods or reels we all think ours is the best. You do have legitimacy to your claims based on what you have won though!
When you asked what type videos early this year. This is it. Video proof and top 10’s
Yep, love that he shows you that he uses it versus "trust me, I use it." ;)

Absolutely the best soft plastic period. My 2 favorite colors are green pumpkin and watermelon red.

Shhhhh. Geez Todd. Lol nice editing and content. Keep then rolling.
It is a very good bait, but I haven't used it in a while, need to get some & the haymaker!👍🎣
Good stuff Todd
hey Todd, I can see why that is your “go to” bait. It’s so universal as well.
Blue Craw Rage Bug is my favorite bait. Got tons of them in my boat.
Best video in a long time..👍👊
Straight shank only with snell knot for the bug. No gap to worry about.
Not as good of hook

Where's the Lake Tyler video?
What weight are you using with the Magnum Rage Bug when sight fishing?
I shop TW often. I’ll use your link
What kind of water gun do you use can you get any distance out of it.
Line size? Rod and reel set up? Please and thank you

What happened to the spinning reel and scoping? I know you couldn't doit, lol.
That was old video before the 1st

I saw that water gun on the front deck 💦 👀
Looks alot like a bandits bug, which is my favorite..(back n blue)
It should that was the knock off of this bait.

Made overseas and they are just backed up, I think it’s the material

Enough of the normal fishin videos. I want more like yesterday!😂😂😂 jk

Could have left that bait alone. Should have shown a googin creature bait instead of that one my man. !!!!!!!
