This song is freaking AWESOME too and I was super happy I got to hear a much better version of it in the second video! It goes hard!

I think the main reason why people asking for the Dingo version is because Music Bank sometimes copyright strike youtubers who play it. Anyway, the song and choreography is a tribute to Michael Jackson.

To answer your question, no, SuA was not responsible for the choreo for "Black or White". It was created by Happyface Entertainment Performance Director Hwang Sooyeon and her team, Kang Riye and Kim Keeyeoun (who also created the choreo for "Scream" and "Deja Vu"). SuA said the dance for "Black or White" was significantly more difficult than "Scream" - the latter they learned in about a day, while they were still struggling to get the hand parts right for "Black or White" right up until the Music Bank performance. SuA said she was EXTREMELY nervous before that stage, because the camera flips between black version and white version would have instantly shown if they had made any mistakes, but I think they pretty much nailed it.
SuA does continue to create choreos tho... she and Sooyeon were responsible for the "Sahara" choreo performed during Dreamcatcher's streaming concert last weekend, and also for SuA's solo dance performance during the concert as well.
Thanks for all of this Tom! Very interesting to know that she didn’t directly choreograph it, but yeah I’ve heard that it was definitely difficult and after watching this video I can see why!

@@LKTVLKTV Yeah, SuA is still developing as a choreographer. Before "Red Sun" she had only done solo and small-unit dance design, but she clearly has an interest in pursuing choreography as a career after Dreamcatcher (which we hope will not be for a LONG time).
If you're interested, Sooyeon, Riye, and Keeyeoun do a lot of choreo videos as part of the dance group Keens on CZcams. This is their choreographer's performance of "Scream" - Performance Director Sooyeon has red hair, Keeyeoun has the loose blonde hair and Riye is dark hair with shorts. I agree with Yoohyeon's voice is like a silk! Whenever I hear her voice, it reminds me of a silky ribbon. And when I hear JiU's, it reminds me of cake XD and then Siyeon reminds me of a hot spicy food.

Dude, I don't even like rap, but Dami is something different. It's aggressive and melodic, something I've never really seen in rap music, and her deep voice is the cherry on top.

They were both filmed without an audience anyway (covid and all that), so they shot both versions and spliced them together. Not sure if either was live when they broadcast it, but I suspect not. But the fact alone that they can do the performance twice, shot for shot, is testament to their skill and practice...

The album where this song belongs to (Dystopia: The Tree of Language) is my Album of all time. I have a problem with choosing my favorite track, but I settled with Black or White (because of its message) and In the Frozen (because of the fire, pun intended). Nice reaction. I think everyone vibes like how you did when we heard it the first time. Heck, I vibed like you the whole album!

Fun fact about the Music Bank performance, while it's true that the music shows are broadcast live they will have prerecorded performances that were still recorded live but having them prerecorded helps the show run more smoothly and allows for edits for more popular groups. This Black or White performance was the first time a music show has done an edit for Dreamcatcher in their 3 years of promoting and the girls were so excited! Finally. Now you understand why I recommend the music bank, the editing is great, also the Dingo one makes the change of color right at the beginning, in music bank it was in the chorus so it has more impact, also it has those changes individually and not only all the groups in the same time. And those shots from above. And personal favorite thing in Dami part in the white outfit showing her shoulders is way better in music bank.
Also this was Dami longest rap in any of their songs, she wrote her part, And Jiu,Yoohyeon and Siyeon made part of the lyrics together with their producers. In this album the girls started to write part of a few songs. (Dami has done it in other song in previous albums)

It was awesome to have them come back and promote this on music shows. They had been done with Scream promotions for a bit and delivered us more goods. Luckily a lot more people in Korea took notice of them with these promotion cycles. I see Silent Night recommendations flying around. their EDM based tracks are sick. Obviously you already reacted to Scream but Sleepwalking, Silent Night and In the Frozen are all pure gold for their EDM based songs.
