I think fans often forget or immensely underestimate the fact that all of these idols are just trying their best to be noticed. Yes, they entertain us, but this is a dream for most of them, and whilst it wasn't a win, being given a music show's editing resources and time (especially on a special b-side stage) is a really big show of their gaining popularity and success. Siyeon's reactions were so sweet and it really is one of those rare moments where they showed just how passionate and yearning they are for success.

Holy crap; I'd never noticed that before. Ever since she got over her initial shyness she's been a fantastic actress (her facial expressions are amazing), and I bet that she'd do great in a movie, but if she tried to pull this off in a horror movie they'd probably have to have trigger warnings and make it R-rated.

The transition between white and black would only can be possible because both choreos and placement are synced. I'm sure the editor decided to edit the transition because he or she knew it will be on spot. I get chills watching stage mix videos of DC while they are doing the hand moves and moving

While they didn't get that first win this promotion period partly due to the bad luck of running up against one group that sold 400,000 albums and another that sold well over a million, they were a solid second place nearly all that time and that shows they are getting more popular. Also, it seems that the networks are really starting to like them as they clearly invited them to promote longer. Obviously part of that was the result of Covid causing many groups to delay comebacks leaving the networks scrambling a bit to fill slots on the music shows, but I think part of it was that the group is getting more buzz in Korea and the networks wanted to capitalize on that. I am glad to see them so excited about this.
I agree with you and I am happy too that they are that excited about a well done stage mix of a spectacular performance. However I have a different opinion about the network part. While its true that this comeback has been their most successful one yet with two 2nd places on The Show, Show Champion and their first ever 2nd on M Countdown, this era has brought in many more InSomnia and we hit new records across the board regarding album sales, MV views and chart listings, from what I know and read on the DC subreddit, the guiding companies like DCC decide a long time before comeback how long the promotion period should be. And during that planning phase no one could have known that CoVID19 would happen or hit that hard all over the world cutting all fan interaction and showcases short. And didnt IZ*ONE only do their promotion in February 2020 because of their voting mishap late 2019?
Its sad to see that this comeback wasnt shone upon by fortune regarding that looming first win, however that only tells us we have to step up for next time even more :)
@@master-of-synapse One of the sad things with music is how much good and bad luck play into success. CLC for instance dropped their great song "Black Dress" and then Bboom Bboom dropped and went supernova. You often just have to cross your fingers as a group's management and hope that you have picked a week to debut where the industry's 800 pound gorillas won't be around or that you have such an incredible song that you can slay that gorilla even with the marketing mismatch. Obviously it is possible. Mamamoo and BTS have shown how a small one company agency can succeed spectacularly with a little luck and a good marketing plan.

Normaly when artist make this kind of stage they only make a few transitions in the chorus, even you can see Yoohyeon anticipating the transition, but this time the editor were on fire!, and that's no vary common, they only do that when the found a really good performance with something unique.
