- Man United are working to finalise a deal for Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee. His performances in Italy have earned him a spot in the Netherlands squad for the Euros. Arsenal have also targeted Riccardo Calafiori, could he fit in with the other defenders at the club?

Home grown rules makes English players more expensive for prem clubs. And prem clubs in general can ask higher prices. It's still overblown but that is the main things.
You're comparing Arsenal spending to that of Manchester United 😅😅
In addition, there's a homegrown tax added on any english player.
Also, Everton can afford to ask for a big price, while Bologna can't keep buyers away for too long.
Finally, breaking into the first team for Italy isn't the high standard it used to be, no big italian defenders to compete against.

asking for a massive commission as a pat on the back for the release clause you yourself agreed to is kinda shady tbh. In the end the total fee comes up to the market value without it so what's the point apart from pocketing as much money as possible instead of the club getting it
The release clause is below market value so with the commission, the buying club is still making a saving on the player as players usually go for 10M+ over their market value

Absolutely, tbh, both the dealing clubs here are not the ones in position of advantage. The agent was just sharp enough to include a release clause that was lucrative for the current club when taking risk on a young striker who was looking for regular game time to level up his ability when he wasn't so obviously decent, and the release clause amount was also lucrative enough now for clubs trying to buy him because it saves them a bidding war which would've pushed the overall cost by 20 million. And they are avoiding that by agreeing to agent fees for giving the purchasing club the preference through the agent. In the end you gotta applaud the agent for hitting the bullseye with the risk of a release Clause, or to the agents ability to convince the previous club to feel that they are investing in a potential dudd.
Bologna and Stuttgart both raided like a medieval camp without fortifications. Sad.
A thing i don't see anyone talking about Braithwaite is how he plays for a super defensive team, what will happen when he plays for a more atacking and exposed one? Same happened to McGuire

Happy for Everton not to blink, and keep Branthwaite. A bird in the hand (£50m) is worth two in the bush (£70m +). Everton should wise up. The days of Maguire type purchases are over.
He's not Maguire. He's faster than him, stronger than him, doesn't make ricks and will improve into one of the very best in the world (he's already just about as good as anything in the prem) and a much better defender than Stones was at the same age. Any everton fan who watches most of the games will tell you about this kid. We would be happy to get 55-60 for Onana, 30mill+ Pickford, 20mill+ DCL but you will not find one that thinks we should get a penny less than 70mill for Branthwaite.
Pay the money and get an elite player that can Captain your club for years or get someone not as good and is older for 45mill. Then next summer Man City or Real will snap this kid up.

De ligt isn’t slow for a cb. He’s young, strong and his height will compliment Licha well added to the fact they played at Ajax. He was Ajax captain at 19 so he’s another leader to a dressing room filled with moaning children like Rashford
They don’t need to have a striker that can get more than 20.
What they need is a system and Zirkzee fits that role perfectly for playing the style of Ajax, that allows more switching between the forward.

Because they have about 6 cbs on the books with them looking to also buy Jonathan Tah from Leverkusen. They need to offload someone. There’s not much market for Upamecano and Kim so De Ligt is the only sellable one out of them all. Eric Dier just joined so he isn’t on the market
