- Compiled this video to give fellow patients in the clinic (and the nurses) a good laugh.
When given the chance, parrots are truly crazy. The green cheek conure is often referred to as the "little clown" of the small bird world. It's easy to see why!
The cheeky fellow in the video is our male Green Cheek conure, Birdy. He was hatched in late 2010 and became part of the family at several months of age.

Wow, just found your video because I'm interested in getting a small conure. Didn't realize at first that you were on a sailboat! I am planning on living aboard and looking for a small bird to keep me company while persuing my love of sailing and adventure. I thought a GCC or Rose Crowned Conure would be the best!!! I can't believe there's someone out there who thinks like me. More power to ya!!! I love sailing and I love birds... and now I love your videos!!! Can't wait to catch up on the rest of them! Am thrilled to hear this Capt. Bill! Yep, conures are great boat birds for sure. You're a kindred soul and you definitely are meant to follow your truth. Sailing and adventure (instead of flopping infront of a TV) and a lovable birdie companion is fulfilling indeed. A young conure will get used to a boat pretty quickly. The trick is keeping his wing feathers trimmed during active cruising times and having a safe enclosure for him in the cabin when under sail. A friend lost her conure when he flew into the ocean and drowned:-( So our little boat birds are stuck trading flight for the freedom of sail. Okay, I'm blabbing, but am happy to keep in touch. Respect to you Captain! Cheers!!
My babygurl green cheek conure took her last breath whule I was on my way to the vet. Very hard to deal with. As soon as my wife lets me get another one ill probably ask for 2 babies.
