- Birdy, our green cheek conure talking and clowning about.
The funny things a small parrot can learn. I don't go out of the way to "train" this little fellow, but he gets a lot of attention and human interaction. Trust, love, and endless patience brings out all the potential in these sensitive and intelligent feathered family members.

Green Cheeks are one of a kind. They are a whole lot of parrot in a tiny package.
My 17 year old lovebird passed away last night. To honor him, and to try to comfort myself, I've been watching videos of cute parrots all morning. Seeing your dude enthusiastically stir lemonade made me genuinely laugh out loud and dispelled some of that funk. Thanks so much for sharing.
Ashley Rae Sebastian I feel bad, what was his name?
I had a green cheek conure. He was the friendliest little bird you could ever meet and he was friendly to everybody
oh my gosh i totally lost it when he looked behind the mirror for the birdie. SO CUTE!
Absolutely precious! This is what I love to see in bird owners. This bird isn't a pet but a friend and companion. :) Smart little critter!
He's so lively. My greencheek has just started mumbling sweet nothings under his breath. the only thing I can clearly make out his is laughing when im laughing.
mine is starting to mumble too, but only when i have netflix/some type of video or music playing. i think he's competing with my computer! :)
The stirring part is SO cute!
Cereal man.
These conure are so darn cute! I have a dusky conure that has its own repertoire and says, "Let's go, step up, that's ok and yum, yum, yum." And he also blows kisses.
perenceja They are awesome pets. How long have you had yours?
I've had mine for four years. I got him when he was only 3 months old. He is very cute, but can also be very mean, when he bites me. I still love him to pieces!
perenceja I've had mine for 15 years. He tells me when he wants a bath, when he wants to go to bed, when he wants his pop tarts and juice and when he wants his corn. He is on the Zupreem diet, but he gets his goodies too. He is potty trained. He makes mistakes every once in a while. He rarely bites. He plays with all kinds of toys and he makes toys of everyday objects like a metal shoehorn and the tops of juice containers. He also cries when he gets sad.
I've got one of these guys. They're fantastic. Way better than budgies and cockatiels etc. Like a puppy and so smart and persistent.
Oh how ADORABLE !! Love how he stirs the lemonade !! Mine talks but I haven't understood what she is saying yet.
OMG thats sooo cute!!!.
It made me want to cuddle my pet bird really tight and tell him how cute he is.
So much adorable in that tiny package.
He's cute. Looks like he's gotten bigger since the last appearance. Looks like he's having plenty of fun aboard the boat.
Glad to see other green cheeks make those same buzzing noises.
That lemonade one was very cute
It's adorable, I wish my quaker was like that
Adorable!! Love his little voice.
Cute bird!!! Love the way he was looking for the 'birdie' on the other side of the mirror!!!
Haha he thought he could find the "other bird" by looking behind the mirror...silly bird
I love him - especially stirring your lemonade!
always wanted a green cheek conure!
All mine does is tell me to shut up by shushing me
This bird used to be a smoker.
I just got a yellow sided conure. He's 14 weeks old and I can't wait until he starts talking! :D
your gonna have to teach him
What an adorable little mate!! so cute!
That was so cute!!
He is very cute.
Like the bird, a natural show off. I also love seeing in the small space you have that The Bill of Rights displayed.
The stirring got me. It's just SO DANG KYOOT
I loved this video is must had Watched it eight times . I love green cheek conures they are so pretty and have great personalities.
that stirring in the cup was too funny!
I love him. I also have a green cheek and I've raised him as a baby. What I'd like to know is what I can do about his aggression. He's very violent and it's not because he's locked in a cage. He's had a lot freedom and human company. I'm told it's hormones but he's just too strong and hard to deal with. Truly at a loss.
I wish I had a solid answer for the bossy and seemingly really aggressive moves these guys can get into. Even Birdy here, the star of this video, has this bitey-bossy streak. Some of it seems territorial, as if they're instinctively defending their stuff and they consider some of your things part of their realm. They will also "protect" you by (as odd as this is!) biting you hard to chase you away from what they feel is a threat or chase you away from a potential rival (if they decided you're a mate). My bird bites me enough to draw blood to chase me away from my purse, which he thinks is a dangerous animal or something like that. He hates my purse! And sunglasses, and hat, and...good heavens!
To deal with these rough quirks, never hit or strike back. I'll put Birdie in his play pen/cage and ignore him for a while as a form of Time Out when he bites in an aggressive way. Parrots hate being ignored and this tactic seems to help. Hormones, yep! Parrots go through a rebellious teenager stage, but then they do mellow out if their human companions play it right (by never hitting or showing aggression back at the bird as they don't understand). When the bird hits the mellow stage, it's wonderful and they become sweet companions (with only minor bossy episodes). Hang in there fellow bird lover, you're not alone. My email is: angelbayfield@gmail.com if you have more questions or would like to talk "bird."
Awww. I'm in love!
...are you stealing my cereal? ADORABLE!
.....I like the birds to too but I;m not going to let them touch my god damn cereal when I'M eating it.
That's probably best though--That way they won't get your germs.
Aww too cute!
This is just sooo precious..Thank you for sharing!!
Deliciously adorable
GCC's are my fav! He is so cute!
OMG!! its stirring!!! thats perfect
My green cheek loved this video.
I loved the Bzzz noise cx Its so cute
Pretty bird, so cute
In my past i owned cockatiels and a few quaker parrots. He reminds me a little of my quaker parrots that i owned. But i just loved that conure i saw at the pet shop today. Maybe in the future i will own a cockatiel and a conure. Although they would be in separate cages. Write now i have a cockatiel who is 19 and healthy and happy and living on borrowed time.
AWW! So smart!
he/she was really stirring that juice xD
I seen a green cheeked conure at the pet shop and it was so cute!!! I like cockatiels and have a 19 year old cockatiel and will always own cockatiels. BUT I am starting to think about having a conure too after seeing todays conure. I didn't realize they are small and manageable around the size of a cockatiel just a little slimmer.
aww He's so cute !!!
We are a flock of 5, 3 small parrots and two pet humans. I have a red-bellied parrot (Petrie) and two green-cheeked conures (Cheeky and Mimzy). For anyone that doesn't know, a red-bellied parrot is part of the genus poicephalus, which includes more familiar species like Senegals and Meyers' parrots. I absolutely love this video--it (as another commenter experienced) literally made me laugh out loud. I love my green-cheeked conures. They are not much bigger than a traditional budgie parakeet but, IMHO have about 20x the personality! Yours is so cute I could explode. Cheeky LOVES to climb any plate/bowl/cup I have and dig in...and will definitely steal something good, but he would much rather have me feed him. Mimzy is the more adept talker, and she says things like "You be good, You be a good baby Cheeky okaaaay?" and "It's okay, It's okay, It's okay" (that last one is ad infinitum). For anyone willing to commit the time, patience, understanding and love it takes to have one of these amazing birds in your life, they can be the most incredible of companions and will definitely steal your heart very quickly. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Woah!!! So pretty
Love it!
He is so cute!
I am a big fan of Nozzle! Thank you for sharing this.

Watched AGAIN. Just luv that kid :-) Luv his voice, too. Love him eating your cereal!😜 Love how he has a glossy sheen down his back as he stirs the lemonade. Love those adorable teensy tiny pinnies beneath his right eye--Oh how I'd love to scritch them off for him! Thanks for sharing. P.S. Did I mention how I want to nibble the sweet little pads of his strong, long, puffy toes...? 😝
cute bird
Is that Simon and Garfunkel in the background?
Anyways the bird is absolutely adorable, he is soooooooo adorable.
You're right! That musical score was used in a Simon & Garfunkel song. A very pretty piece...
would love my green cheek to talk!
My sweet girl GCC would fall in love with your little guy! I wish I could get her to lay in my hand like yours though.
I was concerned about the safety of your bird with the lemonade though. Wouldn't it sitng if it got in the eyes? Also falling in wouldn't be cool either. I knew someone whose bird drowned. Very sad!
Reminds me of Jacques, except he's not a robot.
he is so adorable I have parrots 😄😄
We love watching this. They are such sweet birds. We got a green cheek before Christmas. His name is Piper and such a character
he's so adorable!! :) How old is he?
Thanks! He's about six years old now
THAT'S OKAY
I have a baby green check
cute
HEY!! You are still alive!! Nice
I have a green cheek conure named ellie.and a sun conure named mellie :D
Haha mine makes that ifs aft sound it's not asking "what's this"
So cool! I want my GCC to say actually words too someday :) I actually don't think that this bird is a Green Cheek though, it looks like it's the close relative, the "Maroon-Bellied" conure.
I do believe the trimaran you came across while sailing the Bahamas belonged to this man en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Crowhurst. There was also a movie made about his adventure named "deep water". Excellent movie. Love your videos. 2 yes til retirement......Enjoy!
He reminds me to much of Oscar,he's a Green sheet too.I have exactly five scars from him,he'll be out of his cage and fly on my face and bit my nose. Then he says "Good birdie",then I pick him up and out him in his cage.He has also bitten my dog's before, and they don't do anything, just sit on my bed.I may sound cruel but I'm counting until he dies. And no one will adopt him either...
Oscar sounds like a spunky one for sure. I'll gladly adopt him for you, but I'm in south florida area...willing to drive a limited distance... Is there anything I can do to help?
AngelsTravels No,but thanks anyway.I actually found someone willing to take him!I feel a bit bad,but he was a harm to my family, and my dogs.So I gave him to a breeder and he can be with other birds too.So it's a better life for both of us.He likes other birds only time he was happy.
hahahahaha!1
What a cute birdie!!!I m looking in to buying one of these sweethearts . What should I pay attention on when I Buy one? Thanks!
Jocque?

All mine says is "Darwin" her name
Check out the Mandela effect on youtube!! You will be astonished!!
I have two green cheek conure
the jontron bird, as i like to call them
Are you still planing on publishing your book? I bet there are a lot of people interested these days. I'm moving on to my boat real soon in south Fl. and hope to see ya'll.
Aww it is so cute!
How long does it take to train?
I have 2 conures one is cinnamon conure and the other is pineapple conure.
Cool! You have double the fun, and beautifully colored ones too. Training time depends on birdie's age and how tame he is with humans. A young hand-raised bird will usually learn things quickly, especially if it's fun for them and they're "rewarded" by a delighted reaction from us and food treats. Older birds still learn, but it takes a little more time and gentle patience. My birdie learned how to raid food bowls in a month after I got him as a young, handraised. But it took him longer to learn more complex things, like doing silly tricks (we taught him at his own pace, on his own terms and made sure it was fun, not work). So far, he is not potty trained...
Love your videos and hope to see more soon! What is this little bird's name?
awww...cute little birdie!!
Lol my cousin Has one and it is 9 months old also he does a thing called music.lys
Is his perch on an electrical cable?
