    My immediate dentures didn’t fit well at all, I just went without teeth for about 8 months. There definitely was some psychological trauma and fear that I had to work through.Once I got my permanent dentures, there were a couple of adjustments needed and now they fit great and people compliment me all the time. I didn’t think I’d be able to get through the soreness and gagging but now I’m totally used to them. For me, going without teeth was not a problem. I’m 52 and really not concerned about what people think. It beats having nasty teeth and years and years of pain and infections.

      I’m still in my immediates and I feel absolutely defeated 😞. I’m 13 months post extraction and I’ve just given up hope my permanents will be that much better. I still struggle with eating with them. I don’t enjoy my food at all because I can’t taste and the texture of the food discourages me from eating with them in. I only eat without my dentures because of this!
      I also get REALLY frustrated with the ‘clicking’ of the the dentures! No matter how much Cushion Grip I use to fill in any spaces and adhesives to glue them in tight, I just cannot get them to feel comfortable.
      Please please tell me my permanent dentures will be better than this!!

    I was blessed enough to find a dentist that offered immediate dentures, extractions, and permanent dentures all in one for a very reasonable price. I also did not want to go without teeth for an extended period of time. The first week was rather uncomfortable when healing with the intermediate dentures, but you’re always able to adjust. As they loosened, I found that using a denture cream did help. Just like to thank you for putting these out due to the fact I found you and got comfort out of your videos and what I had to do to repair my teeth . Thank you again. • @John_Lete
      @John_Lete Před měsícem +1

      Totally agree and being in the land of plenty, surely it should be affordable but sadly we live in a land of some higher ups that care not for the less fortunate folks like us...I talked to people that went to other Countries outside of the US and they had dental implants for only a couple thousand, though the tough part is needing to fly to be able to go in for any adjustments or such needed things done...but the point is that poor Countries can do it at nearly ninety percent less than what it cost us here and ones I talked to that had work done, their work that was done is holding well and not needing to go back.
      Oh, what it would be like to live in a world where the wicked are not in charge and keeping the middle class in a state of poverty. Sooner than we know it it will be just the rich whom have it all and there will be no more middle class...well to a point it already is at that stage...it is either high or low class.
      God have mercy on us all. There is hope in God that the evil will not be forever but the ones whom put their faith in God, they will see the other side and be happy, while the wicked selfish wretched goobers will get theirs in the end. God have mercy on the evil ones but of course the wrath of God is just.
      Not to preach to you, simply just want to say I know what your going through and feel for you and may God help you along the way to be comforted even though it can be a tough world. 🤍

    Kristi!!! So great to see you on here! You are spot on explaining this subject. I had top extractions only in May 2023 and an immediate denture which I still have. I am not at all pleased with the shape, size or length of the teeth from day one. I am going to Mexico for my permanent set July first and can't wait. These immediate dentures never really fit correctly and of course got worse with time. If it were not for Cushion Grip and Bondezz pads and Fixodent Powder I could not have made it through this year. I had a soft reline at the dentist ($150) but much prefer the feel of the Cushion Grip even if I have to do it often. It will be wonderful when I can eat normally HOPEFULLY with my permanent set fingers crossed. Thanks for this video.

    You were a GODSEND for me when I got my dentures about ten years ago, I learned so much from you. It's a very scary road some of us are/were forced to take, the whole process is very stressful, but listening to you eased some of that. I couldn't go without teeth during that time for multiple reasons, and would say immediate dentures at least help you through those first few months. I had SO many problems, which only added to my stress level. Once the dentist dropped my lower partial I was wearing at the time and it broke. They glued it back together but that panic in the moment of thinking about how I'd look if I had to go without, I can still remember to this day. And things don't always go your way during the process so people should just be prepared for that. For my first permanent set, the mid-line on the uppers didn't line up with my nose so they had to re-due. It can be a long battle but I'd say don't give up until you're happy with your smile!

    I got temp dentures but that was not until about 3 weeks after I had my teeth pulled. I got my conventional dentures about 3 months after my extractions, and I had to keep going in to have my gums measured. The company that I worked for paid for everything which came out to be 12k. This was in 2022. I've considered implants but I've done a lot of research on implants and implants are not without problems either. Not everyone is a good candidate for implants from what I can see. I've been told that i would be a good candidate for implants, but I'm not sure that I want to go that route.

    I had to have all my teeth removed back beginning of september 2023. I went for conventional route, as they didn't know how much bone I'd lose. It ended up being a tad more complicated as it turned out I was pregnant and it was ectopic. So as the theatre was booked, they did both operations at once.
    This meant a massively longer recovery time for me. My gums healed really well, but they removed all my reproductive organs and that took a few months to recover from properly. So I only started getting my dentures made a few months ago.
    I'm now at the point of the wax molds and the next is the wax mold with teeth. As it's the UK it's all being done on the NHS, so at least it isn't costing me anything.

    I greatly appreciate your channel. I just had a full mouth extraction - with the plan of implants and not only have the temp dentures did not fit so I've been left without teeth for now 3 months but lost my job so the implants will be delayed. It's not as bad as I thought to be without teeth. My gums have needed the extra healing with other health issues going on and it's worked out my temps didn't fit because it would have caused more issues had they been able to stay in my mouth. When I get blessed with implants I will have completely healed mouth without the added challenge of struggling with temporaries

    I received immediate dentures. However, I couldn't really wear them because my face, mouth, gums were so swollen, bruises on my face and under my eyes. That was just for my top teeth. It was a little while before I could get the dentures in my mouth. They have never really fit great however, every adjustment was included in the price I paid. It is a difficult process, imo. First having no teeth, getting dentures and the roof of your mouth being covered. There is just alot to deal with.
    I've had 4 implants and will be getting my snap in dentures hopefully this week. It's a long process but, I'm praying in the end I will love my new teeth. I wish everyone the best of luck and great success throughout the whole process! ❤

    I had 26 tooth extractions done at once wide awake back in March. I didn't get immediate dentures. I have an appointment in July for my wax try in. I'm really hoping they will work but I'm prepared for them not to. I found out I have a small palate and I also already have some bone loss. The dentist said if I can actually wear them, than I will definitely need to wear adhesive. My main concern was getting all my bad teeth out. I'm finally no longer in pain and I can finally drink cold drinks.

  • @tybo64O
    @tybo64O Před měsícem +2

    I wore dentures for 7 months because I couldn’t decide on who to do my implants. My immediates cost 500 dollars and were entirely too loose. They took a horrible impression. Even when my gums and face were ballooned up from the swelling, they’d just fall out of my mouth. No adhesive would help. So my worst fear was realized and I went without teeth for 3 months. The conventionals weren’t perfect but they got me through until I received my implants. They fit a hell of a lot better and I could actually smile and talk with them. Word of advice to anyone considering this, don’t get immediates. Just keep a low profile for awhile if you can and wait until you can get fitted for conventionals. You’ll be so much happier in the end rather than stressed out from ill-fitting immediate dentures.

    Im 29 and had my teeth extracted 2 years ago and I got conventional dentures. I went 10 months without teeth and it was not fun.. I had to go to a dentistry school because I couldnt afford anywhere else and when I got my denture, they didnt even fit my mouth.. they had to be soft relined several times until I could afford the hard reline. Im honestly not a huge fan of the look of my dentures, the teeth are shaped in a way that doesnt suit my face, they extend my jaw more than they should and are positioned unnaturally straight.. its been an emotional process but I am super grateful I dont have tooth pain anymore and I can at least talk and smile without hiding my mouth. Ill definitely go somewhere else for my next set - I would love to have not only functional teeth but teeth that are aesthetically pleasing.
    I definitely dont recommend anyone to go to a dental school for their first denture, schools take longer because of the process they have to go through, they cant give you referrals, and obviously they are learning so youre not really going to get the best work done - if you feel thats ok for the price, totally go that route. But I really wish I had paid more for a better experience.

On this recent video your audio sound levels do what I call "balloon" on every edit, very distracting. Each edit starts extreamly low and then ....." balloons" to what it should be however this is vey annoying with a thousand edits?.. I do hear similar only on some TV news programs. 99% of your videos DO NOT have this and is why I think it is due to a new editor or sound compressor you are using. I already have enough stomach issues. I also know you can cut them to size. I need a smaller size because I have a small palate. Thank You for any information or suggestions.

    Hi, I wrote to you like 5 years ago, but didnt hear from you. Anyway i did have my upper extractions and a bottom partial that i do not use. The denture are horrible they don't fit and it made my mouth sink in. I have no upper lip.. 😢 they're so loose and the glue makes me sick. It hasnt been a good experience for me. I had some bone grafting done, but it got infected and they took it out. The teeth on the denture didn't look good they looked like little kids teeth. Ayyyyy I'm so depressed and disappointed. I've been through so much cancer, losing my hair not never grew back.. losing part of my breast. Its so hard. I would love to talk with you because i believe you might be able to help me to choose the right denture. Thank you.

    I'm 2 months in with immediate dentures and got my first soft reline a month into wearing them and unfortunately that will be my online soft reline because they charged me $1200 for it which is absolutely ridiculous especially when I was told all adjustment were going to be included in my package. Knowing what I know now I would not do immediate dentures because they will be unwearable soon. Dentist should be ashamed of their self for how they over charge for adjustments. Being on a fixed income makes it impossible to continue getting the adjustments needed.

    I can't seem to get my dentist to listen to me. The top and bottom dentures are both way too long. They both go back way too far for me to open my mouth without either or both of them falling out. The top "roof" part gets in the way of my tongue and I can't talk at all without it falling out. I can't eat even jello with them in. I don't know what to tell them other than what I have already said, which is that they are too long at the back teeth, the "roof" part of the upper is in the way, and I've even tried to talk with them in, sitting right there in the office, and they'll fall out, and all the dentist will ever say is "you'll get used to it, it will be better". It's been damn near a whole year this process has been going on, and it hasn't gotten better. I haven't gotten used to them. I have to take them out to eat. I can't wear them at work, because I talk for a living. I am so filled with anxiety I can hardly stand this. What do I do? What do I tell these dentists that will make them listen and get this to work? How do people eat and talk with these things in? How do people get their dentists to listen to them to make them work? I am getting nowhere fast, spending money but getting nothing out of it. Help!

    I got immediate dentures. They made a mold of my teeth and sent them in for my immediate. I did not see them before extractions. After extractions and I woke up and looked at my teeth, I was sick to my stomach. I cried so hard for days. I thought my immediate denture would look like my original teeth. I thought they would use that mold as a guide to math my original teeth. My dentist and I got into a huge argument over that. They stuck out way too far and I look like I had a monkeys mouth. As my gums were healing I was able to come up with the money to have implants for an overdenture. The day I got my implants in, my surgeon actually took my immediate denture and drilled holes into the back of them and screwed those in to my implants permanently. I could not remove them to brush I just had to use a water pic. After my implants had healed, I went with the overdenture that I was able to help design them. They are still not like my original teeth and my smile looks nothing like it did before, but I have been OK with them. I have had implants with over denture for over five years now and still to this day, I cannot get use to all this stuff in my mouth. I feel like my mouth is just full of all these foreign objects and I still have a problem with my speech and certain words. I’m still very self-conscious over my mouth, but I finally got to a point that I could not, not smile anymore. I have always been a person who smiled all the time and I made up my mind. I was going to quit hiding my smile and I did, I’m glad I went with the immediate denture. I just could not imagine myself without any teeth whatsoever. I probably would have never left my house if that were the case. Plus, they came in very handy to have after my implants when they screwed them in permanently as my gums were healing. I was able to eat just about whatever I wanted without any pain.

I don't have much of a savings so I'm limited on what I'm able to afford. I would love to have implants but that will never happen. I'd even like to have the all on 4 or 6 but that to is out of reach. So is there different levels/ grades of dentures? I'm from Kentucky would you happen to know where I should go to check on getting full dentures that look as close to real at a affordable price? I had all remaining teeth pulled going on 2 and a half years ago. So I can't handle this depression anymore or embarrassment. Do you have any ideal what a full mouth denture would cost me that look nice? Sorry I'm all over the place.

      Most dentists do offer several tiers of quality to fit the budget of the patient. Best to call around to local offices and ask what their options are. Most have websites now for their practice and smile galleries are really helpful in giving a good visual of what each option looks like. Dentistry has come such a long way in terms of quality and aesthetic. I have the Phonares II teeth from Ivoclar Vivadent and these same teeth are also able to be fit into a fully removable denture. Just have to make sure that the lab creating your denture is very skilled. It's an art, which means the better the quality, the higher the price tag. Hope this helps!

      @maryannec55 Před měsícem +1

      I was worried about that too more than anything at first. BUT, the dentist can shave off the back of denture to make it so it doesn't gag you and then you'll get so used to it, it will feel normal. Just go little by little though because if they shave off too much, after you get used to the denture there can be more problems than gagging. The bigger they leave it, the better for suction and the teeth won't 'flip' up (if that makes sense?!).

I remember submitting something I haven’t told my kids because there are no pictures of me with my kids smiling and we were all very excited that finally even though they were grown, mommy would have a picture with them smiling and the phone calls went back-and-forth for about a month getting everything ready and then out of the blue phone call stopped. I tried calling the number I had and it was disconnected, mind you, the woman I spoke with had me going and believing that this was gonna happen for over 10 months to find out it was just a joke when I did not find funny

      Oh my, what a horrible prank to play on someone...the one or ones whom did such must have no idea what it means to be needing teeth, regardless of how many needed...out of many things in life, a full set of teeth are such a blessing to have, to be able to eat freely without aches, one does not know what others go through unless they are in their shoes.
      Am so sorry to hear that happened to you...lose not heart for this life on earth is not all there is to what eternity truly is and where no more aches and pains ever to be again.
      I do not know you and don't know if you believe in God, well more like Jesus whom God sent to be the Saviour of creation. If you already do, am so happy and that entails what was trying to say earlier, eve though this life on earth can be so trialsome, yet to know what awaits for children in God, there is comfort that surpasses words to be said, where even though there are not enough words to describe what awaits for believers in Jesus, yet there is comfort from God to face the day to day aches that are present, knowing the eternal life will be so amazing and having a new body and never aging, well it is the paradise dream that anyone dreams about but being in Christ, the dream is not just dream but will be reality, that is when this one on this earth comes to a close.
      Went on more than intended but wanted to say I am sorry and really hope that you know Jesus and if so, lay it in His hands for His comfort being the needed support to forgive the ones whom did such a prank of you, for they must truly not know what they did, even though they did know what they were doing while pranking.
      Anyhow, I am sorry and be comforted that your not alone in the mess of needing whatever being done for your mouth. Overall it could always be worse, as so many across the world have it much worse in other ways that am sure they would trade with our lives if they could. Bless you and your loved ones. 🤍

    The dentist industry sure can either mess a person up good or be a blessing and have to say God bless all the Dr.'s that are honest and care about the well being of their paitients.
    Now as for all the Dr.'s that are in it just for mula and care nothing about the well being of the ones whom are trusting their mouths to...may God have a word with you....and not saying this to be snarky, simply for the fact that there are so many Dr.'s whom care not and I was one of those that my parents did not speak fluent in English and were taken for a ride, especially us kids being state insured growing up and Dr.'s that worked on state insured folks, well let's say we were mula machines for them...long story short, ended up being worked on teeth that never should have been touched and when mest up, the verbage would be "make an appointment and we will take care of that"...hum...wish I could go back in time and put my foot down, even though I was child.
    Those that have good teeth, oh what a blessing it is and for those that can do something about it like getting dentures, you're blessed too. Life sure can be a make it or break it type of deal if having to deal with a mouth that needs attention and yet can not do what needs to be done.
    Anyhow, enough of my sob story...all in all what makes life a little easier is knowing that this realm on earth is not all there is to life, since being a believer in Jesus Christ and knowing eternal life is what awaits for His sons and daughters, where a glorified body will be set on us His children from our amazing God, it helps so much to face the aches that comes with what life offers now, even though am blessed in so many other ways beside having a full set of teeth.
    It can be a bit sad to know how easy it can be lose sight of what we have while we have it and to be thankful for the daily well being that we have from our Creator day to day. Much of the time it can be after we lose something that we tend to put our attention on God for His help in whatever needs His attention.
    Okay, okay, said enough and yet may have said too much but overall may whomever is reading this take it to heart the reminder to be thankful to God for all that is had, not only for material things or for good health but for His grace through Jesus Christ for without His grace none of us would be here today, even ones whom do not believe in God, yet are blessed by The Creator even though they know it not.
    Jesus bless you sister Kristi for all the sharing you do on here, even though it has been a while since last seen yet we understand, life is a handful, especially being blessed with a family whom needs their mom and wife. God bless you and yours continually with His comfort, strength, peace of mind and foremost His wisdom in all areas of life and being His glory. Soon enough it will be so awesome when we in Christ get to be face to face in Paradise, not only amongst one another as one big family in Christ but actually being face to face with Jesus our Saviour. Joyious forevermore living in Paradise. 🤗👑📯🕊️

    Hi. I got immediate dentures. I'm so glad I did because, I couldn't go one day without teeth. When I take them out it ages me by 15 or 20 years. They never were a problem. They did a reline and I'm going back for another one and I may ask the dentist if it's time for permanent ones. It takes time to be able to talk with them. Ironically, they hurt and didn't fit at first. But after 3 elveoplastys to grind down The ridges where my teeth were, they do fit. You're right, it helps to understand what color you may like and what changes you may make. It is just like you said from the beginning. This is 90% mental. You go through a lot of ups and downs. I think about getting permanent screwed in dentures so I never have to wake up without teeth. Then, I wonder if they feel uncomfortable if I will feel stuck. Something tells me that snap in dentures aren't good. I don't really have a reason why. Maybe they're the best of both worlds. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. It helped to go into it with an understanding that I would not have had. 🩷
