- I think paint clogging centers from the late 90's and early 00's deserve more love on this platform. LL is the king of that breed, being the starting center on 3 straight finals teams. He also broke the Aussie barrier in the NBA, being the first of his countrymen to make the league. Luc Longley is a Trailblazer and deserves your respect.

he did a good job. In the last season of that three peat he really stepped up when Pippen was out.
A big man with a big heart no other than luc longley...
Luc was underrated. Always gets me when people bag on him and Cartwright, but they were good players for those Bulls teams.
I feel like people respected Luc at center in Chicago more than the Cartwright years. Luc was overall more skilled, but I agree people act like Cartwright was a scrub and he was not. Rewatching Luc, his skillet is really impressive so agree with underrated.
Almost an 80 percent free throw shooter in his prime years.
This guy scored over 140 points in less than 15 minutes. Automatic GOAT.
Best bucket was @ 10:37 after the Stockton make. Longley's dunk sealed the win.
We'll never forget Luc and we love him.
There is a new doc released this week about him. It is on youtube
@@seanlynch1185 I watch it. He hasn't changed, which is awesome.
@seanlynch1185 unconditionally yes. He let Mike down a few times
Watching you realize Jordan, Pippen, Kukoc, Harper & even Rodman were fine passers
Rodman was very intelligent and picked up the triangle offense quickly. He didn’t need the ball so he played his role
Longley was a good passer as well. You have to be to play the triangle.
You would expect that for a team that implemented the triangle.
Right place at the right time but also did everything that was asked of him.
He was 7'2" and Phil Jackson wanted him. You say right place at the right time and I say perfect fit. He was the starting center on a team that had one of the greatest 3 year runs ever. He made clutch plays throughout that 3 peat run.
Luc was smart, quick for his size, excellent passer, excellent shooter. That team was poetry
He beasted ostertag lol. Crazy he never scored in gane 6 98 finals. Especially when scottie got hurt. Mj carried the load that game
Luc was the difference in that tight Jazz final series, so reliable and monstered Ostertag, Foster, Carr and Malone trying to Gaurd him. And he's still my favorite ever player.
Just realized he didn't score in game 6 of the 97 Finals, either. And Jordan shot 15/35 in both game 6s. And the Jazz's total scoring output was 86 both times.
Talk about history repeating itself.
Luc longley is the biggest factor in the nba history especially in chicago bulls...your the man at the right attitude.
The Luc Longley express
That's a name I'd thought I never utter - Ernie Johnson
Such a great guy !
He did what a great center would do. All around play. Get the offensive and defensive rebounds, follow up missed shots, block shots, assists, defend the middle lane and contribute on points.
Nice video - thanks for posting.
Pau Gasol as well as Scottie Pippen, Tony Kukoc, Andrew Bynum, Rick Fox, and Steve Kerr too. There is that 3rd guy on the Lakers during Kobe Bryant's heyday who won rookie of the year with the Clippers. He was from New York City... Lamar Odom! These would be great to do particularly to highlight the Triangle Offense in the NBA Finals. Non Isolation players only. Everyone has done Jordan and Kobe Bryant, but they often eschewed the nuances and intricacies of the Triangle Offense for a one on one isolation.maybe Jordan and Kobe Bryant abiding by the principles.and getting their points by using the flow of the triangle offense! Please do those pretty please.
Luc would have been like Luka now if he played today
- they don't realize what he did for the Bulls - without him they would have not be able to win 3 times.
He dominated Kemp all series 😂😂😂😂thats why he was so mad at Luc
Starting centre for the greatest NBA team ever. 3 rings.
Nobody can take that off him 🙂
He was a ringer. Many of the Chicago Nikes were.
gees i saw this when it happened....24yrs ago????
this was a long-ley video. that means he scored a lot of points. dude is 7'2 that is hard to get around. 3 Rings.
The man in the middle!!!
Jordan didn’t mention him in his documentary in championships. We know that that Longley was a beast.
This was a great time luc was great they all played with heart since they broke the them up i haven't watch the game since i think all the bulls that played and help win should be hof and there jersey retired by the bulls the best team ever to from the first to the last championship
Such a versatile big he had the size and skill! If only he got more minutes and was much more aggressive he would have been close to a 20 ppg scorer.
The Australian White Shaq of the 90's. Absolute beast and grossly underrated.
Cmon! Even Kenny Smith wouldn't dare to reach himself that high! LOL!
Longley was indeed a good and reliable center, but nowhere near elite center
Legend!
1996 final, game3 he got 19!
He was quite serviceable. He would have been a great backup center if he backed up Shaq.
At least in 1996, he was good enough that they could just throw him the ball down low and be could score more often than not. I was surprised by him a couple times while making this
@@MrWagler1 yeah. He was not montross, Perdue, or dudley
Backup? He was the starting center every year for the greatest team ever. So yeah, let's make him a backup.
Wow. What a way to take a simple point and distort the original intent! I was a Bulls fan and wouldn't have traded him. But when Phil relocated to LA in 1999, he could have pulled Longley over and backed Shaq up and it would have been a great concoction.
Next time someone says something theoretical, give it a full moment of objectivity before responding.
@@chrisdell5679 Objectivity? I read your comment and responded. And you reply with a lot more information that you left out of your original comment. Way to have a conversation there buddy! You're right, silly me, I don't need information or context...I should just be more objective.
LUUUUUUUUUUC!
Would be the MVP in today’s NBA
There's no answer for the Luc Longley Express
Thats a long reach. Longley was an ok role player, but always had a bad time with elite centers like Shaq or Hakeem, and near elite centers like Ric Smits
@@dragonmaldito all the ‘elite centres’ in today’s game are camped out by the 3 pt line waiting for an open shot
@@stoltobot then he would have trouble defending outside shot, outside the paint. I insist, he was an ok center and in todays game he would be still ok, but if you want to put him like a dominant force, like MVP caliber in todays game, well, he ain't got the skill set, like Jokic by example, to be that dominant.
Scud was too cool for school
I just watched the CHICAGO BULLS 72-10 Mixtape agains ... Beautiful NBA Basketball AT IT'S BEST! Before they decided to take EVERYTHING GREAT about it away in THEIR EXTREMELY PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO REPLICATE HIS AIRNESS & THE CHICAGO BULLS ... Stadium Attendance, Merchandise Sales, Ratings ALL DECREASED! I love THIS GAME! Great NBA Advertisement ... THEN. If I want to watch someone shoot H.O.R.S.E., D.O.G., D.A.W.G. ... I can Neighbor; which is I actually find ENTERTAINING & MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE!! Luc was simply Incredible and FUN to watch!
🐐
Very young fan sitting 3rd row with his parents: mommy, mommy, mommy!!! look! long lay.

What do you think about Luke lonely playing big time
Because he was big time
The Chicago Bulls one of the greatest teams of all time if not the greatest
Just a decent center
I never understood why they always booed him at home
They didn't.. they were saying Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc
They said his name, they didn't boo him at all. They loved him.

still many than james harden
So this was created for the aussies who have zero hopes of ever having actual athletes or anyone of import on the world scale...
Reliable shooter would def be like vooch in terms of open 3s today’s
Nose for rebounds, hard d, fancy footwork, plus athlete, old school enforcer but a team player man centre’s aren’t like this anymore u got jokic mailing it in on D
