Hi Jay - yeah, the Limestone is a solid color. If it were available when I ordered my truck (and if I had actually seen it in person), it likely would have been my first choice. For me, when Mark and I saw the Limestone and Launch Green next to each other, that’s when the color finally settled in. They just feel so similar, even though they are a different hue. Well done. I like them all aesthetically, but my two priorities are #1 what color heats up the least when parked in the sun and #2 what hides dirt, so I'm going with LA Silver.
What I really want to see is the actual temperature difference betwixt each color when parked in full sun on a hot day.
That's actually a good idea for a video that I hadn't thought of. I'll see if I can get a couple of trucks together for a heat comparison. Thanks!

Ah, my config exactly. Nice choice. Can’t go wrong with White, and the BM interior is actually a really nice dark gray (as opposed to black). I do like the interior and it’s pretty kid friendly. I haven’t seen the Ocean Coast yet (which I hear is great) but I do like the BM interior more than the green, especially with a white exterior. Thanks for watching - Great to meet you last week!

I have the Compass Yellow and the unexpected upside is how the brighter yellow badge accents appears like GLOWING NEON against the yellow paint

I'm exactly the same Mitchell. I have blue with OC ordered, but I'm really thinking of swapping to the beautiful and sparkly Forest (my orig config) with the green interior, my friend picked up a Launch with a green interior - so nice!
You and your son rock! Thanks for helping us see all the colors. I was convinced to choose white since day one but the other colors are sure beautiful if you are into brighter colorful vehicles. Very nice nature tones. I have to agree with your dude that El Cap is my next favorite.
I'm still developing my ranking system but, like Pixar rankings, it changes with my mood. Top tier for me are: White, Yellow, Silver, Forest, and Limestone. Second tier, but close, are Blue, El Cap, Launch Green. Red and Black are my least favorite. But, everyone's rankings would be different.

Thanks Howard, yes the launch screen is a wonderful choice. I considered it very seriously for a little bit. But it’s a really tough color to represent through a camera, so I figured that was a dealbreaker for me with the video channel. :-) If the light hits it right it has a really nice army green color. I like that.
Why did you do this to me!!!!! I was set on Rivian Blue, but now El Cap and Forest Green have now entered the convo! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't even get me started on what wheels I want! Reserved Sept '21, so I have a ways to go before I finalize.

As I said, all of the choices are good choices. For the wheels, that one was easy for me. As I plan to spend a lot of time on dirt, the 20s were the best option. And I do like the way the 20 inch bright wheels look. They are a little more gray than black. But with regards to the exterior color, yeah, I started with blue and almost took delivery of a blue truck, only to then have a restless night of sleep :-) until finally deciding on the white. It’s painful! Thanks for watching :-)
People might be reminded that these colors are not all the same price. I just did my earlier delivery reconfiguration and should have the Compass Yellow in about a week now. It cost $2500 extra over what I had speced ealier.
Thanks for the video, having initially chosen limestone I changed my selection to forest green and your video just confirmed my decision was right, limestone is alike a nothing color. No manufacturer makes a silly color like that for a reason 😄
I do like the Limestone, but you're right that it has a certain neutrality to it. The Forest Green is beautiful.

I wanted the Launch green but the only one available for me was Limestone gray. I do like it now after watching your video. I will be getting the R1T wrapped in military matte green anyway. To protect the paint and make it unique. 😎

@@DavidLeee no its close but not really. Mainly it's done for paint protection. Once I see the truck in launch green I might just do the clear front protection..
That Limestone really is a chameleon. Standing alone, it leans slightly blue in bright light (and next to Launch Green), but next to El Cap and LA Silver it pulled in more green undertones. I like it a lot, but I don't care for the baby/light blue that it may show (could be camera white balance). It's flatness/matte coloring is preferable, to me, vs the LA Silver but the silver seems to hold its color in various conditions better (which is probably part of the point).
Agree! The limestone is a solid color but can change with the light.

QUESTIONS: My Guide says I will get my GW by end of June, if not sooner. Would you PLEASE share your paperwork experience that took place in Colorado?
I have two questions.
Q1. rivians MOD of having the MCO electronically sent to the CODMV is a major concern for me. On other purchases, the out of state dealer hands me my MCO and I take it to the County DMV myself, which leaves no room for error, such as address, taxes, licensing, etc. My guide says they send the MCO electronically. My concerns about the MCO are these:
1. I live in El Paso County but NOT in the City, so my sales tax rate is less because I do not have to pay city tax. One person in a forum said Rivian overcharged the sales tax which he is trying to unwind.
2. Another licensing concern is that I am entitled to Disabled Veterans(DV) license plates, which are at no cost to me and free from all registration fees.
I am an anal person and I want to be pro-active during this titling process because I am concerned that my paperwork may get messed up because Colorado titling process is different than other states. I don't care about the temp tags process, but I MUST have DV plates and no city sales tax.
Q2: I would NOT like to have this amazing vehicle delivered, instead I would like to pick it up at the Service Center. Reason is that I want to put the first miles on this beauty, aside from the necessary loading/unloading during transport. I asked my guide if I could pick up in Normal, IL but guide says NO.
I appreciate your answers or anyone else who cares to share their Colorado Registration experience. I am super excited.

Hi Minicooper - thanks for your comments. I'm afraid I won't be much help on the registration item. I haven't done the CO registration yet. The truck was delivered with temp registration from Illinois. I'll come back to you when I've been through the CO registration system. I will say that a friend just received his truck and the temp tags were colorado tags, so something has changed in the system.
For Q2 - not sure if this will change but I was not allowed to pick up at the service center. There are some licensing rules that they are restricted by. You will get the first miles though, because they'll bring it to you on a trailer. For me, they drove it to my house because I'm so close to the SC. You may want to double check with your guide that they will trailer it to you.
@@RivianDad, Thank you for your reply and telling me your experience. I have a VIN and started the checkout process. As anticipated, Rivian charged me for the tags, so I stopped the check out process and hope my guide can sort it out. Additionally, I talked with the CO DMV. The CO DMV solution was to pay the registration fees to Rivian and then during the titling process, the CODMV will tell Rivian that I overpaid at which time, I have to ask Rivian for a refund, CO will not do a refund. CODMV will not issue plates until all of the finances are correct. This is brute force solution and I don't like having to rewind because anything can go wrong. My guide is working on trying to fix it my specific issue. Last Friday, I went to the Denver SC and I met someone who told me that they also get IL temp tags. But CO DMV told me they I should get CO temp tags. Regardless, I want to move on as quickly as possible. CO DMV also said I could transfer my plates from my F150 to the Rivian, which will make it easier for me but I will still have to ask for refund from Rivian.
Q2. Thanks for organizing the first Rivian owners group event. How do I become a member of the Rivian Owners Group. I signed in at Reddit but how do I get notices of a meet up?

I still love my Canyon Red; but I'm pleasantly surprised by Limestone, and think it's a color both my son and daughter would like. So, do I choose a color for me or for them? Such choices. One more big thank you for putting together this great comparison.

You are correct. In person, everything is quite different. I was not interested at all in Red Canyon or Limestone but was surprised just how much Limestone was pleasing to my eye and how much the Red Canyon popped in the sunlight. I am perplexed now. I guess one can't really go wrong with any of these colors.
Agree. Over time I've come to appreciate the Red Canyon a lot more than my first impression. Limestone is nice also.

I'm still stuck between El Cap and Midnight. I have El Cap configured right now, but Midnight looks really good. El Cap will probably be more comfortable in the summer though.
I prefer the El Cap over Midnight - the El Cap is a pretty sophisticated color. It would work in lots of different light, and oh so sparkly. But, if you’re a black kind of guy, then I guess it’s Midnight.

Not sure the launch green is still available, but among the three it would be my third favorite anyway. Forest Green and Limestone are a tie in my mind. If you prefer a dark vehicle, then Forest Green is the way, for light, I like the Limestone or the White. Thanks for watching!
Super Helpful. I think Im going with the white, but Im also loving the forest green. My wife just got a green wrangler. Im just afraid of having two green cars. I wish the white came in Metalic.
Both are very good looking colors. I think it comes down to light versus dark. In my world, I would lean toward the light color since I grew up in Arizona where anything dark was too hot during the summer. I think for me, it’s just a habit. However, the green is a rich color. So if you’re not concerned about the heat difference, then green is the way. Although white is a classic. it’s a never ending mind game. :-)

I had a really hard time choosing my exterior/interior color choices. There were no options to see the variations in person. I wound up going for my gut and did Forrest Green/Forrest Edge. I get it at the end of this month!

Red Canyon is another color that look very good by itself but on my taste don't work with Rivian design. But in a vacuum I think I like that fiery orangish red the best. Maybe second best to Compass Yellow, which, damn, is not "my" color. I like the inspiration behind it (autumn afternoon), I like how it looks specifically on R1T - just too bright for my dark soul:(

I ordered a Forest Green R1T, and wished I could get that Launch Green, but after my first mile drive, I honestly prefer the darker Forest Green if I had a choice. The Launch green is too light/pastel for me, I'm very happy it's not flipped. Personal opinion. Also seeing the Limestone in person, it's horrible, you HAVE to see it in person before ordering it, it photographs badly.

Yeah. I like Glacier White for the truck and Forest Green for the R1S. Can’t really explain why.
@@RivianDad is glacier white a flat color, or with metallic fleck like the Tesla white?
@@Asok451 it’s flat - no noticeable fleck, but it is pretty glossy and reflective.
How can Rivian have 10 colors. Even a established company like Tesla has like 5 colors in the US and can only do 2 colors in Germany and that one is supposed to be the best paint booth in the world. I know they can do more colors in Germany, but what is going on are they having major issues. Not everyone wants a black or white car. Nice job Rivian. Keep up the good work.
not sure how they do it, but I've seen multiples of all of them here in Denver so I tend to believe it. I hear that they can switch the color on the fly without cleaning the paint guns (although they do paint in batches). Thx for watching!

without moving or charging?
It's hard to know. It varies. There were times that it dropped 1 percent over night, and others that it dropped 3 or more. More testing to come!

Thanks very much for this, I keep wavering between Limestone and El Cap. El Cap feels "safe" especially because I worry about photos and videos where some light/baby blue comes out with the Limestone in full sun. It sounds like you're seeing that in real life, too?
El Cap transforms a lot depending on the light - but more of a “dark to light” transformation. Limestone transforms by reflecting nearby colors, not quite the same. If I had to pick between them, I’d go with the Limestone but mainly because it’s a lighter color. Thanks for watching!

Oh man, that's a can of worms. :) Actually, for me it's fairly easy because I was set on having the 20s since I plan to take it off road more than long road trips. So, the choice is only dark or bright. I prefer the bright. One thing to note is that the 20 bright wheels have a little blue-gray in the finish, which is really nice. It's hard to tell from photos (which makes it look black). Thx for watching!
LA Silver works for those who like futuristic looking concept cars. I don't. That's sad cos Mercedes-Benz design from the mid to late 2000s is my favorite era of car design in history, and it has taught me to like silver color for cars. I always consider silver my default favorite color - the one I choose when I can't decide with my actual favorite one. Can't do the same with Rivian.
BTW, I think silver is not even an option for the Ford Bronco, another offroader I kinda like. Am I wrong?

By an unreasonably large margine my favorite color is Launch Green. But no bad news for me, cos I'm only gonna be able to buy R1T in like 10 years when both my income grow and R1T depreciate. In 2032 there will be no difference between buying a 10 year old Launch Edition and a slightly cheaper 10 year old Forest Green Explore package - both will be in equally bad condition😂
Honestly it’s hard to tell what the vehicle will be like at 10 years old. I’d like to think it will still be pretty sweet.

What did you really think about the launch green with the forest edge interior? Thats my config, but I have never seen the forest edge, which makes me a little nervous.
thanks for sharing. so they just let you walk around the lot? at the Bellevue SC, its all behind closed fences and they won't allow us to walk back there. i told them i am a preorder holder and i can't decide on color but they wouldn't budge.
Luckily, the Denver lot is not fenced off, they do have a fenced area and will be moving many of the trucks into that area sometime in the future, but for now much of it is unfenced. So most of the trucks are available to walk up to. They do keep an eye on things, but they’re pretty cool about letting people look around so long as you don’t disturb the property.
Forest Green has enough flip-flop and still looks contemporary.
I do love that color! I tend to go for lighter colors though. Just a habit from living in Arizona for several years.

Ya can’t decide between LA Silver and El Cap. I really would like to see them in person. I’m up in Kitchener Ontario. Just got an email that they are setting up service center in Vancouver. But need to confirm configuration by mid Oct. I have a silver F -150 and it really does hide the dirt.
Bummer you're not able to see them in person. All of the colors are impressive. Tough call between LA Silver and El Cap - both are very similar vibe (as far as the amount of sparkle) with one being darker of course. Advantages to the El Cap - I think it's a bit more unique. Advantages to the Silver - classic, hides dirt better than El Cap. Probably comes down to how dark you want your truck to be. Good luck!! Thx for watching and commenting.
