I installed the Mando ESC10 on my Elantra N pre face-lift to help minimize the impact on speed bumps. I can verify it works even though I had to do some 'secret magic'. The bumps are so much smoother over harsh bumps in the new comfort setting and the option of making a custom suspension setting is also a welcome bonus. I'm not 100 percent sure, but when I put my Elantra N in Auto. Creep Off mode, I sense an auto hold sensation even though I know my parking brakes are not electronic... hmmm funny? I am considering switching the rear bumper cover on my 2022 to have the 2024 rear cover. I appreciate the fact the red trim is all the way around the bottom on the 24 instead of that small gap that is left on the rear corners on the 22. In my experience, the muffler takes around 10K miles to break in. During that time, the sound will change and will be noticeable. Once the exhaust settles in, at its quiet mode, it will be super stock quiet like an SEL here in the states. Once you hit the sport button or N button the exhaust makes the correct sound you come to expect. In North America, we have already been guaranteed by Albert Biermaan himself during interviews online and certain literature, the Elantra N will survive into atleast one more new ICE model. That is to say, after this CN7N-PE, there will be yet another Elantra N to drive. Hopefully, the future N includes all wheel drive, even if it means having an electric motor in the rear, and a hybrid powertrain upfront. I'll consider trading my 2022 for it for sure. I still see no reason to upgrade to this from my 2023 that I just got 5/20/2023 and only has 1199 miles on it. But in the end, i'll just be happy with my 2023. I love the car and will drive it for many years to come. Thanks for this video. Seems like you had a good time. *edit* - hold up, they just let you take a car on a 3 hour test drive? "allotted to me" that's a crazy concept for us Americans. we pretty much just get to drive around a few blocks!
I did make prior arrangement with Hyundai to make a video. I knew it was going to take longer than the "usual," but never thought I ended up driving it for 3 hours straight 😇 I don't really think it will be much of an "upgrade" from the current EN if you already have one tbh. Great choice for those who didn't get to try an N yet - this may very well be the last ICE N after all - and all Ns out in the market already came out with 99% of their potentials, including yours :)
I have a manual i30N hatch so there are differences to this, but I think just in general with the N cars the best custom setup is having steering and suspension in normal. Normal steering gives you the best true steering feel rather than fake weighting. And normal suspension makes it more compliant on a bumpy back road and actually helps traction for putting down the power
I'm not sure if you're aware CarSceneKorea, but this will not be the last ICE N car. Albert Biermann himself confirmed that there WILL be a next generation N sedan, possibly with their 2.5T. We don't know which markets it will be available in, but we do know there will be a next gen ICE N car in the next few years.
It will definitely be here in North America because our emissions aren’t as strict as Europe. Plus sedan doesn’t exist in Europe right now. So the next gen Elantra N will be here.
Ordered my 2024 i30 sedan N after watching your videos like a million times! Pity Australia gets ugly bezels around the dashboard and some of the nice features (blind spot cam etc) aren't available here, but I'm all about the drive and the sound!!! Can't wait to try our the secret recipe :P Got mine in Ecocentric Grey and factory lowering spring kit, honestly cant wait!!!
Currently shopping between... Hyundai Elantra N Honda Civic Type R Toyota GR Corolla Toyota GR86 Subaru WRX Anyone else in the same boat? Thoughts? My current car is a 2014 Ford Focus ST, which I bought brand new and I still love it and have tracked it 20+ times. But after 10 years, it'd be nice to get something new.
Honorable mentions include the Civic Si and Integra A Spec as well as a GTI. I have an 8th Gen Civic Si but want something new and automatic. That leaves me looking at the Elantra N and GTI. I'll be keeping my Si though.
I’m between WRX and this Elantra N, but I need a car pretty soon, my 2011 6MT 3 series keeps having problems and i’m trying to sell it before the damn check engine light comes on again. Sucks too as it’s a beauty. Black exterior , 10/10 red leather interior, sitting on 20’s
I'd get the GR Corolla, especially if you want a car that'll turn into an investment. Or the GR86. WRX wouldn't even be on my list, not even close, but that's because I don't need AWD. You should also look at the GTI and/or Golf R. But as for your list, I'd do GR Corolla or GR86.
Type R is the best car on your list but most expensive. Corolla will be cheaper but harder to get, maybe just as expensive. WRX is ugly and infotainment is garbage, plus Subarus are known to have issues. If you are ok with a 2 door coup the GR86 may be your best bet unless you want to track it, they have the oil starvation issues. Elantra N is best bang for your buck and what I may upgrade to but the sensor knock issue and horrible service department practices is making me 2nd guess. Your best bet if you can afford it is the Integra Type S. I have found numerous at MSRP and 1 for 2k below MSRP which made it cheaper than any Type R I can find with the markups.
I really hope the adaptive cruise control makes it onto the US spec of the car. I’m very happy to see it’s on the Korean spec, I love it in traffic in our family Tucson Hybrid.
You're misleading people when you say they softened the suspension. They softened the DAMPER VALVING in comfort mode and maybe in the middle damper mode, but they actually upgraded the motor mounts, suspension bushings and improved the steering too, plus nobody is going to run the dampers in comfort mode at the track.
Thanks for the clarification. I do have quite limited info before getting to test drive from time to time and this EN Facelift was one. I could feel it was much softer than the pre-facelift, those details came after I did the test drive.
I think hes speaking more of the overall feel of the suspension my guy. Dont take everything so literal lmao. Also, i didnt find it misleading at all as i went to the dealership after watching this and preordered the dct🔥
Well well well, if it isnt a long informational video on the 2024 EN! They are supposedly being released this upcoming fall beginning in early October. Im so ready to trade in my 2022 Elantra N Line for one of these badboys.👏🏾👏🏾💯 I will miss it but my car still looks brand new as if it just came off the lot so im sure it will be an easy trade in.
@@CarSceneKorea You yourself are a bigger Nthusiast than Iam tho for sure.💯 Im learning a few things and also taking note of all you have to say when you describe the N performance vehicles.
I wish you went more into how it drives and stuff we can't get from the media rather than talk about going over speed bumps, key fobs, and the beach waves... Maybe take it fast on curves? Do a launch? Something that you can only find out through driving it 😑
This video was taken when there were only a handful of Elantra Facelift in the entire nation, I drove 3 hours to get my hands on this car and make the video 🥲 Best I could do atm, that's what I always try to deliver!
Yep. US spec misses out on heated rear seats, rear vents, adaptive cruise control, and sunroof in the manual model. I won't be buying this car for these reasons!
@nezabytes, you dont need any of that? If you want to buy a luxury car. These care are better sporty . All i want is ac vents in the back for passengers that's all
@@CarSceneKorea love your contents! Btw in Japan they recently started selling IONIQ 5, while I am not an SUV fan, I saw one in my neighborhood a few times. I have to say it is beautiful and has a presence. I imagine Elantra and Sonata will definitely leave a more strong impression!
I know Hyundai and Korean cars in general aren't big in Japan. Hope Hyundai will bring in more diversity to overseas market with IONIQ and N brands :) As much as I love Korean cars and N brands, I also love Japanese cars, JDMs, I'm actually a Z owner for over a decade, owned a 350z HR and now 370z manual :)
@CarSceneKorea I know it's a bit of a challenge but in time with the success of IONIQ 5, this should pave the way for intro for other cool Hyundai cars!
@CarSceneKorea Yes Z is awesome as well as the other players. Personally I really like Honda, they have a distinct design. Although I really really miss the old school Prelude and Integra from the 80s!
Hyundai again appears to have nerfed the USA models like always and removed multiple features from the USA version including the blind spot camera system (there is still some sort of warning), surround view, smart cruise control, highway drive assist, and possibly front/rear parking sensors. the USA price list and spec sheet only list those features on the limited, non-performance, trim. im really really disappointed. these are standard only on the limited trim and do not appear to be available as an option even on the N.
They were the techs that made this Elantra Facelift the ultimate N that made me want to get one! Sorry to hear that, I'm sure Hyundai also wants to introduce them to all markets, but there are steps to be done prior to doing so, I guess. Brand awareness, profit, bureaucracy, etc.
@@CarSceneKorea i mean yea, maybe its to offset import costs to keep MSRP the same. i put a deposit down anyways. hopefully in a few years it gets all the bells and whistles
I kinda like the old shape better. This one gives me more of a prius vibe. The weird part about the old face was the two tone that gave it that catfish look in the blue and grey colors, but the black version looks great with it all blended together.
Awesome video: Would you say the amount of pops and volume have decreased on the new 2024 compared to the 2023? I am wanting to upgrade from a Kia Forte GT 2022 to an EN 2024 just for the exhaust pops and bangs, do you think the EN 2024 exhaust is still exciting or shall I look at a used 2023 because of the different exhaust note. I am afraid the new 2024 is more quiet and not exciting as the original EN 2022-23.
Due to the decibel issue in the United States, it may be changed to meet the decibel laws of the United States or other countries. In Korea, the exhaust sound of the existing Avante N vehicle is within the law. The answer was that the facelift model was released with the same decibel as the existing vehicle for domestic models.
Could the regular seats that are in this model you're testing have anything to do with he "softer suspension"? I'm sure compared to the bucket seats, its more comfortable and can give you that softer feeling.
I can assure you, it’s not the seats. I’ve also had N Light Bucket seats on my VN. I also drove lots of other Ns with numerous seats 🫡 Lastly, it is official by the person who developed this Ns suspension that it indeed is softer.
The big question for me is what they have changed (or not changed) regarding the octane learning. They have nerfed the 2022 Australian models with the ridiculous octane learning process.
@@mharro88 No thanks. I waited this long for the face lift so I can wait a bit longer. I find the current model to be hideous. Could never stomach it. And the exhaust sounds exactly the same, why would it have changed? It's the same engine!
@@CrystalNinja07 they've tuned it differently due to legal action on current model. The same engine is irrelevant.Personally I find the rear in this worse than the WRX.
@@mharro88 No mention of engine tune in updates, only chassis and handling improvements. Where are you getting this information? Listen bro. Enjoy your 22 EN. You don't need to dog on people's choices if they want to pick up a 2024 model. You still own a great car.
Where did you get the information of Jan-March delivery? Especially seeing that they aren't taking orders at the moment and the other models all had a minimum of 6 month wait after each order
Good video. I wish the US got those seats as an option. I'm looking at getting one of these early next year and the seats are concerning me as someone with joint issues :( but I heard the sport ones we get are quite good too so the only way I'll know is when I go test it myself (everyone's body's are different after all)
If the world is going EV and Hyundai seems poised quite well for that , I would like to see them drop a 2.5T of which the car could handle if they put it in the sonata N line . Maybe some flairs and wider tires and maybe tuned a little higher then in N line trim to further push the performance angle . Maybe something that keeps the fun but also will out drag a Toyota just to put a Cherry on top . We dont REALLY know yet if ICE cars are truly going away or when and i reckon bumping up the ice N cars might be worth it considering the 2.5 is already there . Even if its a N X spec or Super N Or whatever you want to call it for a limited car . Yeah if theres a 2.5 sonota n line it seems doable without massive cost to Hyundai to boost their image further . The Ionic N Is cool but cant have too many options or loose covering all bets IMO . If ice is truly going away there might be a big want for the last and fastest ice N .
For the key fob, I'm disappointed that they made it bigger then the previous generation key fob. 21:08 not sure why the owner of that blue Veloster N would replace the H badge with a Genesis badge and yellow out the rear bumper which makes it sooo ugly!
Too bad we don't get these in Sweden... We have the I30 which seems to be an older generation of the Elantra, still not updated. This new facelifted Elantra would be cool as a wagon too. I can only have one car and I need a wagon, so I want a FUN wagon!. Cons of being a small, uninteresting market to sell in I guess.
I don’t think Hyundai is making much money with any N in particular. Just holding our Nthusiasts hands together to live through the era of electrification 🙃
Is this EN more fun than a KN? Im on the fence and could go either way. Love the hatch and short style of the KN, but hate that it’s a bit too high and doesnt come in performance blue here in the US.
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks! true. I know the DCT (wet clutch) is amazing on the Ns, but is it good enough to sway away a manual/6mt enthusiast? In regards to driving enjoyment. I know the manual transmission doesnt even compare to how good the DCT performs (+NGS).
I've been a manual guy since day one of legally owning a car - I still am with 2011 Nissan 370z stickshift - but I chose VN DCT over a manual in a heartbeat. I mean I already had a Z manual, so VN stickshift didn't strike me much, but this DCT, I bought it after two test drives. First, I knew I was getting it, second I just had to check it once more before buying one. Lastly, if the car needs to be a manual and you want a manual, it's VN manual all the way then. It is slower than DCT when you go all out on track, but not that much noticeable on a short corners and turns. They differ about 2-3 seconds with the same spec on a roughly 2-minute-long track here in Korea.
@@karmahunden That indeed is true, they actually have exhausts built from different factory. Manual is louder and that's what I swapped on my VN DCT - there's a video on my channel about it. Being said, it's louder on all spectrum, simply bc the exhaust itself is louder 🤣
Nah, that will still be available on the export models. It’s been that seat for Korean market since the first Elantra N. The N logo seat was always an extra.
I've been waiting for the facelift to grow on me, but it just isn't happening. At least to the extent I expected or hoped. I don't hate it by any means, but I think the pre-facelift EN looks much better - it's more aggressive and stylish. The new look sports a very prominent moustache and that small fin in the center of the red front lip is tacky and really hurts the look further.
I feel you brother. I thought and felt the same, but their two designs give me very different vibe especially with a proper mod :) More choice, the better for us!
About Elantra N n performance four piston caliper, is the flange/wheel spacer required for installing four piston caliper even you installed 19 inch n performance on car? It seems four piston caliper is combining with 19 inch forge wheel, but not sure flange is stil required for increasing space for installing caliper. Thanks.
Thank you, I'm looking to buy the current i30N that I've already driven and it's an excellent car, it's at a very good price in Portugal. I'm unsure whether to buy the current one or the new one....I know it will come with more technology. Like the Elantra, what positive developments have you seen? In the video you say that the exhaust sound is not that noisy...@@CarSceneKorea
So did they say ANYTHING about fixing the knock sensor or the front sensor or the fuel pump???? Don’t care about a facelift or new wheels if they haven’t done anything to correct these documented issues!!!!
Bought to take my 3.3t Genesis g70 back to the dealership and tell them to outfit my car with this exhaust and also give me a digital gauge cluster cause over here in the United States, even at $56k we still arnt given a digital gauge cluster, wtf Genesis/Hyundai
I love this car, but I think the lack of a 60/40 split seat might actually be a dealbreaker. With one carseat in the back I almost always need have the other half of the seats folded down to be able to haul my kid and all of our stuff.
A friend of mine actually got the Elantra N-Line's second row seat and had it swapped. He now has 4/2/4 split, not sure if that is the route you want to take though. Just letting you know :)
@@drewstermalloy He tells me that the stitch will now be red for the seats bc that's how all N-Lines are + you need to drill a hole since there is no bracket. The rest will be simple plug and play.
@@CarSceneKorea yes you can change how the engine sounds inside the cabin. You could in the last gen..not sure on the new one. You could make it sound just like the tcr car!(On the inside) I believe you need to be in N mode to do it. If I find the video I can email it to you. Do you have a business email address?
Ahhhhhh pardon me, I always turn off the active sound design or artificial engine sounds on my cars. I always had it off on my Veloster N too. It does have that feature on the facelift, yes.
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks for the reply! gotcha! probably will order mine when they launch it in the US. The hybrid has intriguing fuel efficiency though and it's a few thousand cheaper! Do you know the technical reason behind it? will it impact the overall performance?
This is Elantra N, performance division of Hyundai. Completely a different car when it comes to performance. If you've ended up on this video thinking it's Elantra, search for regular and N-Line, hybrid models. Not the N. I also have vids on those too :)
@@CarSceneKorea hey no, i saw Elantra N line Hybrid version at the LA car show 2023! The MSRP was 3k less than the non hybrid! Looked the same with the N line but only hybrid!
Hi, after watching your video, I have a question.Does the shock absorbers soften in all driving modes? Will such a soft shock absorber affect the performance of the vehicle on the track?
Simple yes/no question, it will be yes. The hardware itself has been changed. Different suspension from the previous one and this will affect track performance no doubt. However, nothing that a skilled driver can't handle. I'd like to say that the suspension change closed a whole lot more gap between the N being a daily/fun weekend car with the suspension.
As for the track performance, I have no idea if it'd make it faster or slower. However, I doubt that N would change the suspension that will make the car slower.
@@CarSceneKorea Thank you for your reply, if it really affects the track performance of the vehicle because of the soft damping adjustment, then I will be very disappointed, and I will rethink whether to buy it.
@@jianggewang7729 The softer suspension often does result in faster track time depending on a driver and track as you know. I don't think it would have much difference on track performance tbh. That would've been one of N's priority as well.
I notice that when you turn on your turn signals there is a camera on the digital cluster. I have seen this feature on Limited trims on other Hyundai vehicles. Will that feature be brought to Elantra N for America.?

I have a manual i30N hatch so there are differences to this, but I think just in general with the N cars the best custom setup is having steering and suspension in normal. Normal steering gives you the best true steering feel rather than fake weighting. And normal suspension makes it more compliant on a bumpy back road and actually helps traction for putting down the power
Agreed! 💯I hardly put things on N Mode even when I am on a track except for the performance related stuff.
I truly wish I am wrong on that, I'm one of the last people hoping that this EN would be the last ICE N.
It will definitely be here in North America because our emissions aren’t as strict as Europe. Plus sedan doesn’t exist in Europe right now. So the next gen Elantra N will be here.
@@SINGH-ingeven more likely in Australia.

Can't wait to try our the secret recipe :P
Got mine in Ecocentric Grey and factory lowering spring kit, honestly cant wait!!!
Great choice, congrats! Sorry to hear Hyundai Australia is bringing the watered down version, but at least the performance won't be affected!💪
How long until arrival ?
@@beymaster562 due for march, but end of april at the latest
I just reserved my 2024 performance blue DCT N at my local dealership 😊
Me too! Exact same spec. I'm in Australia. Where are you based?
Congrats both of you!
Currently shopping between...
Hyundai Elantra N
Honda Civic Type R
Toyota GR Corolla
Toyota GR86
Subaru WRX
Anyone else in the same boat? Thoughts?
My current car is a 2014 Ford Focus ST, which I bought brand new and I still love it and have tracked it 20+ times. But after 10 years, it'd be nice to get something new.
I can eliminate a coupe right away, but wow a real tough decision to be made. Think you need to keep the pricetag in mind though.
What an awesome facelift. Changes my whole outlook on the car.

So an overall upgrade
I mean it still sounds like a pretty good upgrade
So the sharpened the N mode suspension and softened the comfort mode suspension?
Sounds like a double upgrade
Thanks for the clarification. I do have quite limited info before getting to test drive from time to time and this EN Facelift was one. I could feel it was much softer than the pre-facelift, those details came after I did the test drive.
I think hes speaking more of the overall feel of the suspension my guy. Dont take everything so literal lmao. Also, i didnt find it misleading at all as i went to the dealership after watching this and preordered the dct🔥
So good I'm moving to korea in 2 months and I will be staying for 5 years. Really keen to get into the car scene over there
Hit me up when in Korea :)
One true Nthusiast! The SCC alone would all be worth it..!
@@CarSceneKorea You yourself are a bigger Nthusiast than Iam tho for sure.💯 Im learning a few things and also taking note of all you have to say when you describe the N performance vehicles.
Wow, this means a lot to me. Thanks, will keep it going! 🚀
Thanks. I've been waiting for this

Very am sorry to hear that.

I hope this comes to Canada soon! I have the 2022 Elantra N line and would definitely like to upgrade to this beast!
Sure will be worth the upgrade!
Canada gets all the good stuff like adaptive cruise control, rear vents, sunroof, heated rear seats...
Greetings from Tokyo! I really really hope they bring this to Japan!
Hello back to Japan! I don't have many viewers from Japan, glad you found me :)
The interior is unchanged from my N. They do this to say SUVs sell better and then cancel the sedans because the profit margins are higher.
Now I know what those hazard lights is for lol
Yeah. We don't even get the sunroof in the US models. This is why I won't buy one. The N must stand for nerfed!!!
not diggin the keyfob but the cars incredible
Thank you for these videos! Love both the cars I have the 2023 EN.
Great N you got there, I am coming back to N one day, asap!
I kinda like the old shape better. This one gives me more of a prius vibe. The weird part about the old face was the two tone that gave it that catfish look in the blue and grey colors, but the black version looks great with it all blended together.
I genuinely like both :)
A prius? Get your eyes checked 😆
Awesome video:
Would you say the amount of pops and volume have decreased on the new 2024 compared to the 2023?
100% I've been in both. The softer seats feel way better. Soft suspension is crap to be honest. It was already soft.
Thanks for another amazing video.

The big question for me is what they have changed (or not changed) regarding the octane learning. They have nerfed the 2022 Australian models with the ridiculous octane learning process.
No mention about that officially.

@@mharro88 No thanks. I waited this long for the face lift so I can wait a bit longer. I find the current model to be hideous. Could never stomach it. And the exhaust sounds exactly the same, why would it have changed? It's the same engine!

Where did you get the information of Jan-March delivery? Especially seeing that they aren't taking orders at the moment and the other models all had a minimum of 6 month wait after each order
I still think that the Veloster N exterior look is by far the most beautiful and aggressive of all of them. Such a shame they scrapped it
🥲
As a VN owner, I agree.
As a former Veloster owner, I couldn't agree with you more. 😢
If only Hyunday does the next elantra in AWD system.
Good video. I wish the US got those seats as an option. I'm looking at getting one of these early next year and the seats are concerning me as someone with joint issues :( but I heard the sport ones we get are quite good too so the only way I'll know is when I go test it myself (everyone's body's are different after all)
It is for extra $$$ here in Korea to get those N Light Seats in the US. But yes, these seats are way to go for many people in some cases.
I only wish 2 things- came in manual and kept the old sports seats
Does come in with a manual :)
Is the U.S. finally getting those black wheels? They go so well with the body.
The black ones are N Performance Wheels, extra for Korea too. The silver one will be standard🥲
lol just noticed the Hyundai logo on the keyfob between the buttons.
I kinda dig it 🤣
For the key fob, I'm disappointed that they made it bigger then the previous generation key fob. 21:08 not sure why the owner of that blue Veloster N would replace the H badge with a Genesis badge and yellow out the rear bumper which makes it sooo ugly!
Not sure if it even is bigger. Shaped different, but think it’s almost the same.
It looks huge on the video
The not so secret recipe lol
😉
I hate EPB's... hopefully they don't do that over here in Canada. The 23 had a manual pb which was good.
At least we will get a manual ebrake with a manual N 🥲
Would you rather own a Hyundai Elantra N or Veloster N, and why?
Elantra N, a sedan over a hot hatch due to personal preference :)
Hopefully this comes to US with HDA!!
Does this car still do have 286 hp with ngs? And does it do 0-60 4.8-5.1 seconds?
Same engine spec as pre-facelift.
Engine fire feature is free
since 2002 i bought only elantra manual transmission i still have the 2019 with 70,000 miles ΑΩ
I wish we have this in EU!
Kona N is all fun and N, but no sports car comes in a shape of an SUV. If you're looking for fun, EN hands down.
@@CarSceneKorea Very insightful. VN manual is definitely appealing. Heard its louder than the DCT for some reason... at least on idle.
@@karmahunden That indeed is true, they actually have exhausts built from different factory. Manual is louder and that's what I swapped on my VN DCT - there's a video on my channel about it. Being said, it's louder on all spectrum, simply bc the exhaust itself is louder 🤣
Havr a deposit in a 2024 performance blue cant wait

All i want is a real manuel parking brake
We get that with a manual gearbox one at least 🥲
Did they get rid of the seats with the N logo that lights up? they looked so good :(
Nah, that will still be available on the export models.

I really hope they would, not see any reason not to since it's essentially the same BVM; Blindspot View Monitor, we see on all other Hyundais.
Secret sauce? Does it work on the Veloster N?
Yep, that's where I found it :)

I couldn't really tell much difference except for the suspension setup. I doubt it'd be much different.
