I'm not too familiar with your model of trooper. Mine's a 94 so it's a different body and a few other big differences in there. I'm not sure what the big differences between your's and mine but I imagine with mine being a bit bigger may be more forgiving. But you're selling me on the lexus right now since I'm basically after the same thing you are. Just a more powerful and more reliable version of the same vehicle. I hate my 3.2 in here now but it's still running at 200k. I'd still want to keep my AC and hopefully cruise control if I could. MUST keep my manual. Thanks for the information.

@TheSushiraw your so far off base..you may as well be on the moon. The Toyota 4 runners are ..pure legend. Japan steel good for 350 + when looked after

My dad had a 89 trooper 2 door shorty.. the electronics eventually forced him to sell it.. i would love to find that truck.

Interested in that adapter you made for the transmission. Hopefully I can find a cheap trooper to do this in considering my daily is a 2.8.

mykg73 Expensive and heavy. Isuzu diesels are hard to get parts for as well. UZFE stuff is everywhere

5.3 gm v8 and 4l60e 4wd trans and transfer case
Have you considered low pressure intercooled forced induction? Turbo or supercharger. 5 to 10 lbs of boost .
I just bought my first vehicle and I got a 1986 Isuzu Trooper II 4 door for $500 and it runs good but its running rich currently and idk what to do

What are your thoughts on a northstar swap with a dohc 2000 trooper
northstars blow head gaskets all day.
You can build up a Northstar to put out a lot of power for fairly cheap, but it was never meant to be a truck motor.
The LS is better
You have to go with a late model Northstar because of head gaskets . LS motor is a better option.
The GM 2.8 v-6 is a POS so I am considering this

@@pjiri961 you can buy 4bt crate engines directly from cummins they also have a new small sized crate cummins available but 4bts are easy to find

That engine is garbage. The GM 4.3 or LS is a better choice.
