    3:00 The reason the keyboard layout is ABCDE, not QWERTY, is for the calculator to remain on the SAT approved list.
    SAT rules explicitly prohibit models that have a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad.

    Quick question. Why is it you can use CAS on the SAT but on the ACT it's a prohibited feature. In my mind I figured the SAT is much harder and therefore it would be more understandable to limit the CAS program to ACT and not just the SAT as well?

    • @EasyTech15

      That's a good question. Depends if you need to solve non linear equations with the calculator and if you can use the CAS capabilities next year. I would ask the people you know that did that subject or that are doing algebra in the Jr year. If you can use next year the CAS, and the price difference isn't big, I'd go for the CAS

I love that calculator but it is not working anymore. I bought myself this one as a gift for my last math class: chaotic dynamical systems. But I can't adjust to the new calculator! It's not allowed for act, but you can actually boot load cas on to the cx model. It is a difficult process, but in that way, you can cheat the act system. So, if you do it correctly, you should have the functionality of the cas on the cx model.

    In March 2018 - If you buy the cx cas handheld, do you also get the software (free) to run on your PC or at least a code to download and use it (and it's not some trial version)? Can you get the teacher's edition as well as the student's version? Does your handheld have to be plugged into the PC to run the software on the PC? Or do you have to go some route of say, dumping the rom and finding some emulator which you don't know if you can trust?

      +Lance Caswell hum... I'd say try with another cable, if it doesn't work and you don't have anything important in the memory, click on the reset button so it resets the original software. If that still doesn't work, contact Texas Instruments. I hope that is helpful

    How do you enter a graph problem like y-5 cos x when x = -pi ?

    • @tylerk444
      @tylerk444 Před 4 lety

      If you have the CAS model, it can do it. type Solve(, then type in y-5 cos x. Please make sure you do comma then the x variable so the calculator knows what is it looking for { Solve(y-5 cos x,x)}. Close your parenthesis or else it will mess everything up.then hit the control equal sign on the calculator. It should bring up a menu with the equal sign, greater than sign etc. We are looking for the "Such that symbol". It looks like a line. After you select the "such that symbol" type x=-pi.
