- An example of what I often work on, when I'm not working on-site. Nothing exciting, just get it done and get it back to the customer.

Awesome and short vid
Nice repair!
Thanks. I haven't heard back from the customer, so I guess it's not leaking!
Shop life :) Nice little video
Thanks!
Good repair.
Haha, the dog is taking a break from all the work going on.
Mike
He's good at taking breaks. Most of the time, that dog is so relaxed and calm I have to poke him to see if he's still alive! Unless there's cows involved...
Nice work
Thanks!
How do you weld it that oil is not coming through
Nice!
Thanks!
If it keeps bread on the table, it is important. Thanks for the peek into shop life. Poor Shepherd, but winter is coming. Trees here have started to turn. Soon he hill roll around in the snow.
Fall is definitely here. He's enjoying the cooler weather, but it's been raining a lot this past week, so he's upset about that. I've never seen a dog that hates the rain so much!
Tell him it's almost his time! It was 7C toady, about 43, here.
So no paint? If the cost if the aftermarket parts is $100, how much did you charge for a repair?
Enjoyed.
Thanks!
I'm surprised the end didn't pop off when it was under pressure!
For sure! I'm guessing it was welded on Friday at the end of shift. :)
Wide Vision Metal Fab Ha! I'd hope so! Or maybe the welding consumables were at the tail-end of their life!
It’s a wonder the heat didn’t melt the O rings on the piston inside
Hey could you also have used flux mig weld on it , cause that’s all I have ..
I know nothing about a hydraulic cylinder's insides. So my questions are were you concerned about grinding through the wall getting grinding dust into the cylinder? Second would something be destroyed if too much heat was applied, seal, warping, ...?
I was not worried about grinding too deep as there is a machined shoulder under the weld. So, I'd have to get pretty crazy with the grinder to get through that stepped part. But I was worried about destroying the seals if it got too hot.
Sure, blame the dog... LOL
That's always my wife's response, too! :)
Where's your TIG setup?
First thing I thought
If it ever leaks it's not where where you repaired, hoping the rest of the welds were decent... ;)
That makes 3 of us. You, me and the customer!
Poor Dakota! One little fart and it's into the stew pot. Looks like you already added the vegetables. You're a hard hearted boss--LOL! Do you worry about warpage in the cylinder when welding a continous bead? Take care. Doug
Lol, he can fart! And no need to worry about warpage when welding around the cylinder. That's how it's done at the factory. Welding on the length of it would be a different story.
I would suspect the rest of the weld and the weld at the other end are suspect.
I wouldn't be surprised.
Interesting to see one of the small mundane jobs. As we all know, those jobs which seem simple, are the ones which go wrong if you're trying to rush them before a trip. it's a difficult balance giving good customer service and having a family life!
Yep, everything is a balance! Thanks for the kind words! :)
funny dog
He's a riot!
Be nice if you answered comments. Still doing videos????
If I see a question, I try to answer those, otherwise, It's gotten to the point where I'm spending too much time answering comments. I spent 2 hours just a couple nights ago, and didn't get to all the comments. That's a lot of time taken away from doing the edit. And I'm really behind on editing right now. I have 6 videos on the computer waiting for the edit!
Right on looking forward to some new videos
