I didn’t even notice how much cgi was in this film. That’s how you know cgi is good, when it’s so subtle and barely noticeable.
True
well, it isn't about subtlety though. When CG serves the story rather than just the visuals, it becomes invisible and part of the experience.(Watch VFX breakdown for Blade Runner 2049, Inception, Zodiac, War for the Planet of apes, Ex Machina)
Movies this huge in scale and production always are heavy on CG. Complex scenes require planning 1-2 yrs ahead ..for them to research, capture real world reference-data, populate 3D meshes etc.
@Elijah Ken hehe i would like to actually see that happen
@Elijah Ken he gets whatever he can on camera
Ong they said spidey was cgi on the final stand off with electro when he was being electrocuted and trying too tie the spider web. I thought it was just Andrew it looks so real even the hand movements 2:08
Disney should've hired this team for Homecoming, the CGI in it was a huge step down from TASM2.
Suedeash very
The same people that worked on this movie are working on far from home
@@bsfilms3816 for real ? Can you share the info page to me please ?
@@bsfilms3816 no lmao u joking?
@@Gabriel-jg5wh They worked on his old suit the one that peter made one example is when peter fights vulture in a warehouse
even if the movie flopped, you can't deny it had some of the best cgi ever
Youssef Akli In terms of box office it didn't flop, it just made a disappointing amount of profit since they expected the movie to gross over 1 billion dollars
Ahm no? Looks like Toy Story on steroids.
Holtsar they made 600m
0seconds lol define good cgi then
Blake Stylinson Okay, Jurassic Park - the T-rex break out scene is still more convincing. Narnia - Asland looks pretty damn real. Terminator Genesys - the CG Arnold is pretty fucking impressive. Pirates - Davy Jones. Nuff said. Rouge One, Lord of the Rings, and Avengers all has better CGI, and all these movies are made before AND after ASM2 and some with smaller budgets. You want more examples?
Movie:
Pros
-This Version Of Spider-Man
-This Suit & the Spider Logo
-The CGI (The Physics, The Swinging Experience, and etc)
-Comic Accuracy
-A Colorful Experience
-GREAT ACTORS
Cons
-Rushed & Messy Plot
-The Dialogue
-Green Goblin
-That... The Amazing Spider-Man 3 didn't come out D;
Damion Nguyen Agree 100%. I doubt homecoming will mirror these pros
I kinda miss this franchise tbh 😢😔
Damion Nguyen
This version of *Spider-Man* was alright, but this Peter was awful. He was already "cool", fucking skateboarding around school, talking to absolutely hot women, was selfish as fuck and a total asshole.
Zbuckner your right, and it was so much better(homecoming)
Stef Tep they were supposed to be in Berlin. Do you know how hard it is to film in an airport like that? Not to mention they didn't want leaked photos of the teams and especially Spider-Man. These are the same people who made Winter Solider. Calm down.
Why does the cgi looks 5 times more realistic than the new one?
Androu Luc
1. RAISED webbing.
2. Folds and creases in suit
3. Properly done lighting
4. Colour correction and colour grading done correctly.
The Marvel movies have this ugly kind of colour scheme. Hence it doesn't get that cinematic polished look, like the Sony movies had, or, like the 2nd Dark Knight film with Joker in it.
Cus the suit looks so weird in the new one...its too smooth
The new one has great cgi? WHat are you on about? haha
Marvel studios spends more money on marketing and speed., Sony decided to spend more money on the CGI. takes more time.
That being said. A good looking shit is still a piece of shit.
Say whatever you want about this movie, but it sure as hell looks amazing. And Spidey looks much more real than the new one.
Makverus true
Makverus agreed. The new one look too cartoony and felt unfinished. This and the tobey spidey cgi is better
Makverus Lol the exact the company is doing the special effects and CGI smart ass
Moonie. And yet the two suits look completely different.
I prefer this suit over the new one; more realistic.
aboslutely true! the new one looks like a videogame
I know this movie didn't have the best storyline but dann did it have the best cgi out of any Spidey movie I've seen, even Homecoming and I loved that film. If Marvel Studios had any sense they would look into hiring David Schaub to do the web swinging animation for the next MCU Spidey movie and onward.
frrrrrrr lmao I hated home coming loved this movie!!!
Way to much CG here. You can tell, and it looks sloppy when he's swinging, the texture on his suit is too shiny, and it stands out like a sore thumb.
PBMS123 oof
Marwan has terrible taste that is a fact
@@PBMS123 it look way better than homecoming for sure
The CGI in this movie was so much better than that of Civil War and Homecoming, shame they didn't keep it like this.
Frixcon Sony and Columbia Pictures made The Amazing Spider-Man, Civil War and Homecoming made by Marvel Studios
Nah. Civil war was great. The whole fucking airport was all CGI.
Look at spidey. He looks like a cartoon.
@@asterion2499 The Airport was in Berlin
It's a different universe than the other Spidey films, so I suppose it only makes sense to make a distinctive suit
Just imagine... How beautiful, visually, TASM3 would have been
THIS MAKES ME SO ANNOYED because they had a third one ready to go and were going to announce it at an event that Garfield was meant to come to and then he pulled out of coming last minute cos he felt sick from the plan rise.. and Sony fired him for it and made a horrible reboot that was all about the technology.. not about the actual Spiderman and how his powers come from within.. not from his suit that literally has suri in it
@@issiestrong4269 They didn't make the reeboot Disney did
@@issiestrong4269 mcu turned my fav character to ironboy
@@physicsrox184 well now that no way homes come out, we know that all the previous Tom Holland movies were only just a preparation for a non iron boy Spider-Man. Since (spoilers) at the end of the movie he has no crazy gadgets and is just a young adult living in a crappy 1 room apartment
I wish Tasm 3 existed 😫😞
I actually really liked this movie, especially the part near the end in the clocktower, was very emotional, I think I might have even teared up a bit.
I honestly don't remember much about it other than the clocktower part and that I fairly enjoyed the movie lol.
What happened to Electro made me more emotional. dead or not.. World, Huh!
emotional
teared
Yes, and yes.
The suit looked amazing in this movie, yet the MCU version looked so much like a cartoon.
CGI of raimi and webb had best cgi the mcu one is cartoonish vibe.
@@moniqueperkinsmp true
The mcu just looks like pure cgi, the raimi suit and the andrew garfield suit actually looked real.
@@hawks9939 their suits are actually real
@@moniqueperkinsmp ok you guys need to remove your nostalgia glasses
Raimi CGI especially with web slinging were ass yes they are old
but that doesn't excuse it from it still being ass..
Actually felt like Andrew Garfield was in the suit.
Cause he was.
Better CGI than Homecoming. The story may not have been the best, but the music (especially the music), the suit, and acting was amazing.
Gonna cry?
Story was great. Execution was not
All were great.. At that time fans were not great
Wow the science of it is so complex, i wish the story was better, i like the first person perspective when spidey swinging from one building to another, its a new experience, i saw it in 3d so the visual is really cool
Yeah I feel bad when the story turns out crap after these people have spent so much effort on the visual effects
At least these same people get to work on Homecoming.
+Nazgull123 Obviously, you have never seen the film before. The story was fantastic.
I saw it, and was thoroughly disappointed. I absolutely loved the first one, though. One thing that peeved me with #2 was Gwen's death, it was different to the comics.
Nazgull123 The story was far from "crap" and the movie is anything but "thoroughly disappointing". And also, if that one thing is only the fact they did Gwen's death slightly differently, that is just stupid. That was one of the most powerful and emotionally impactful scenes in the movie and it worked so well because of how they executed their relationship.
2:08 HOW IS HE COMPLETELY ANIMATED!!! That’s bad ass it looked real man
Sabino Cadena ikr
Bruhh i thought that scene was not fully CGI ,damn this movie really got the most realisto CGI
I thought that scene would’ve been Andrew and the webs but everything else will be cg, man I hope the rumours are true and Andrew gets a couple more appearances as spidey
This movie had the best opening
People don't realize how complicated superhero movies are. They contain so much complexity, but they end up being so beautiful in the finish product. The amazing spiderman was a very good movie I wish this universe was still alive.
@@Wilma_Dickfit_huh *aNd i HaTe GArFIeld* lmao stfu
@@Wilma_Dickfit_huh fuck u idiot Andrew is the best spiderman
@TIITAN Toby was a GREAT spiderman, he showed the mature side and is actually the strongest of the 3.
the soundtrack was amazing
the vfx were amazing
the story was pretty good
why people hate this movie is beyond me
the actual plot...
Milbox R was good
Lol Topkek *Was not... they rushed Gwen’s death, they had 2 super villains like Spider-Man 3, and in the beginning of the movie, he literally let Rhino crash into a bunch of cars and probably killed/and or injured people!*
The plot was awful don’t lie to yourself. The effects were breathtaking though
Omg_Itz_OCT 101 the plot was only bad due to the fact that it tried to fit in soo many stories
1. Peter, Gwen and Captain Stacey’s promise
2. Harry and the green goblin
3. Electro as a villain
4. Rhino (at least he wasn’t as much of a central villain)
5. Peter and his parents
IMO I think they should’ve just stuck with Peter, Gwen and the green goblin, because of Gwen’s death being related to the gg
Spider-Man had never looked better than in this movie, the textures and movements look so organic, it's really impressive. It's a shame the movie itself is dogshit
jorge granados it wasn't
Alberto Herrera wasn't, you mean. that last part doesn't make sense
I agree. In fact Garfield's Spiderman is the most artistic form of Spidey swinging
I was just about to thumbs up your comment until I read that last sentence. Such a shame so many people accidentally gave you a thumbs up without reading the full comment, because if anything is “dogshit” here, it’s you.
No it’s not
I get all the hype towards Homecoming, but we can't deny that TASM 2 had the perfect visuals and style for a Spidey movie. I was hoping the new reboot would surprise us with this kind of post production work, but in the end the cgi was pretty disappointing...
Homecoming was a pretty shit Spider-Mam movie tbh. The only thing they got right about spider is that he is quipy and makes a ton of jokes. The suit was so obvious that it was a CGI, i cringed everytime i looked at it.
Marty Venkman Please, people always say Homecoming is a bad “Spider-Man” movie when it captures the character perfectly if he was in the MCU and if he had a Father-Son kind of relationship with Tony Stark, privileges of a high tech suit. But the character as we know and love is still there if you just watch the fucking movie.
KingKongDestroyer It’s not eh either, it’s a great depiction of the character within the MCU, Homecoming is showing how Spider-Man operates in Queens below all of the Avengers crap.
@@baldhead7759 yeah, but we wanted to see the true Spider Man not that fanboy who seems to consider Iron Man more important than his own uncle who taught him that with great powers comes great responsability ( we know he taught him that because of his speech in Civil War). We wanted the mcu with Spider Man not Spider Man with the mcu
Motisma -This Wrong, Peter doesn’t have to call back to Uncle Ben every god damn second, Peter of course has Uncle Ben in his mind and respects him for everything he’s done. But Tony Stark a man who came into his life like a father-figure, protected him during Homecoming, had faith in him like a father would with a son, and loved peter like a father would with a son. Fanboy? Aint Tony Stark the same guy who saved the universe? Threw a nuke into space? An Avenger? Fought Thanos! Come on man this is literally right in our faces to why Peter likes Tony so much, he brought this 15 year old child into the world of superheroes and made him an Avenger! Fanboy my ass.
Something that I hated about homecoming is that the cgi was too obvious. In Andrew and Tobey's movies I couldn't tell where the cgi was used
Yeah the homecoming one look like video game
cgi in raimi movies have aged poorly actually
Epic Smash Battle oh yes you could. Have you seen the rooftop run scene
@@fratgurkok3987 not really, some scenes it's obvious but most of the time it's not noticable unless you pause and look for it. Homecoming was so noticable, you don't need to double check to see that it is CGI.
Fırat Gürkök watch the crane scene, the train scene, the pizza swing scene. It’s the first movie that aged a bit
The CGI they've done on spiderman alone is fantastic.
1:43 I love that wallrun overhand scramble he does with the web. The swinging in this movie had so much heart and finesse
Why wasn't this nominated for best visual effects.
Miss when movies actually put this much time into the effects
The impressive technical achievements and the believable performances of the actors combine to make this one of my favorite superhero films. Sure, the script is not perfect and the movie is overstuffed with villains. But the action sequences are eye-poppingly incredible, and the grounded, seemingly improvisational acting by the two leads make this a special film in my opinion.
Well said
Agreed
Wow the detail that goes into this, definitely paid off. the best spider man cgi in any of the movies
1:48 this is my favorite Spider-Man move! The "Over-hand scramble".
This movie was bad but not worst...let's all admit the fact that TASM2 had THE best cgi and Web swinging out of all the spiderman movies till date, it also had some really cool action scenes. Only if the plot and direction was better I think this movie would've definitely been one of the best out of all the spiderman monies...
Best music
Best VFX
But weak story ( as everyone)
But I liked this film a lott
I like this spiderman suit the best cause it's not CG and most importantly not made by tony stark lol it's his own make. lots of love to u Mr. stark
Actually in the video game spiderman says that gwen made the suit.
@@SolomonFactor Oh, well that's actually pretty sweet lol
Cat Bacon we mean comic not the video game version.
As much flaws the story and writing and stuff that amazing spider-man 2 had, no one can deny that it is a beautifully shot film with some of the best looking special effects in any big budget production, even more so than the majority of films that have come since
It is absolutely insane to me how this much work is put into post-production, but in pre-production apparently NOBODY has time to even glance at the script??
I mean this costs millions, but without a great script it absolutely worthless!
So maybe, Hollywood, pay a little more attantion to scripts.
I found this movie was good
Hollywood didn't write the script. It's the director who should have a say in it. Why generalize Hollywood for the fault of screenwriters?
Because obviously shitty scripts/storylines/dialog are such a recurring thing in big budget productions.
The Producers/Studio Execs(What I generalized as Hollywood) however don't really seem to care about the script. They should have the courage to go and say: Nope this one is dogshit, let someone else try it.
Maybe u cant tell hollywood too so stop the fucking military propaganda
The script was fantastic - Andrew Garfield has stated this many, many times. The studio messed around with it throughout production, which led to the film we got.
A shame that they didn't give this amount attention to the plot and story.
mitrooper Flip the amount of attention for plot and cgi over and you got MCU Spidey movies.. Story was great, but the cgi is such a downgrade from the Tasm movies..
This movie has the best VFX of all the Spider-Man films to date
The CGI in TASM2 looks more real than my life.
MAN!! This movie had SO MUCH POTENTIAL! Stupid Sony wanted to Setup and lead into their Spider-Man Cinematic Universe and changed ALOT of scenes and story lines in post production. Not to mention that Marc web himself actually changed ALOT of scenes, multiple times, in Mid Production. There has been many notes (backed by set pictures, leaked scenes and e-mails, pre production art and staff commentary) of Multiple reshot and changed scenes. (Examples: They cut Mary Jane, who was cast and actually shot ALL her scenes, completely from the movie and refilmed them, They cut and re-filmed ALOT of Harry Osborn's scenes (as some can be seen in the trailers that never made it into the movie), They filmed multiple Alternative Death scenes with Gwen (one where goblin himself kills here, there are set photos) they Cut alot of Jamie Fox's (max dillon's) normal Character scene (can also be scene in trailers and set photos) And then a WHOLE LOT of other crap that just got cut-cut-cut. Between Marc Web and Producer's Mid-Production changes/cuts and Sony Post-Production Changes and cuts, The movie we actually got is NO WHERE NEAR the original script/screen play/or idea. Well, at least the Visual Affects were really good! XD
appriciate that someone would write why amazing spiderman 2 sucks in a 2000 words essay
I'm still trying to figure out why Sony never released the uncut version even though there was so much effort in the cut stuff and they wouldn't even lose anything by doing so.
I dont think anyone noticed this but, the cgi that marvel used in spiderman no way home, the cgi which they used on andrew garfield's spiderman was so bad. After watching that movie, then revisiting this movie I just cannot believe that this movie was made 7 freaking years before no way home and still has the best cgi in any Spiderman movie. The scene where andrew garfield's spiderman comes running through the portal and the one where he lands on the ground after catching MJ, man these scenes were so bad.
Yeah. He looked like rubber in some of NWH shots
Do u agree with this but the cgi put me off and I remember watching the scene where all three spiderman swinging together and thinking this looks fake.
@@manazmohan Did you notice him and tobey had no reflecting lenses like they did before.

The chest cam was absolutely stunning
Never really cared much what all the movie criticists of the interwebs say, this film was the best Spiderman movie for me, and still remains! (yes I've seen FFH)
5:31 I loved how they re used the TASM 1 model instead of re creating a brand new asset. Great way to save time. They probably did this for loads of things
well it's previz so thats prolly the usual practice to use any model.
the story wasn't even bad, it was thrill seeking by adding a new enemy.. even if it wasn't good to some people it all the writers faults, Garfield was amazing
i don’t think the addition of an extra enemy is the only reason people correctly say the movie is bad but, okay.
1. Electro - Electro could work but he was so goofy. With a little more writing he could be a good villain
2. Green Goblin - I gotta say i love this version of Green Goblin (Even though nothing beats Willem DaFoe) i think he deserves more screen time.
3. Rhino - He's a meh villain.. He should have been saved for the 3rd Film though.
In conclusion.... All this villains will be the best. There's a bit of Improvement.
And pro tip... don't ever blame Andrew and Marc Webb.. They did their best job. Blame Avi Arad. He was literally in control in Spider-Man 3 and the TASM Films.
oh, man... so much better than homecoming
GDgameplay absolutely
GDgameplay I know right!
GDgameplay true.. homecoming sucks
Kdream's Cosmos Of course. Home coming's story is good but didn't really give me the excitement that I had felt when I watched TASM2 and The Originals. Homecoming didn't feel like a Spider Man movie! Didn't even show how he became Spidey

I know this wasn't the best film, but I have to say the characters looked badass
I don't know why people don't like this movie...❤️..😭..
It's not the effects or this much talented team that made the movie suck, it's not the actors or their peformances either. Once again it's the studio and it's bosses that ruin what could have been an epic movie.

You can tell the animation in Homecoming wasn't this in depth
Cactus Slayer yup and it was most likely due to Sony trying to stay within a reasonable budget range. Which is understandable since they don't wanna invest too much on a reboot and it ends up failing. I think they'll go all out next time.
Cactus Slayer marvel studios is younger less experienced studio
RandomBlackGamer That and Marvel didn’t want them to go too overboard with the character.
I absolutely enjoyed this movie.. It was a great experience in Cinema. Dunno why people hate it 😒😒
Nikhil Kumar i thought the same thing at first but watch the film again and you'll see why
Nikhil Kumar it was overstuffed all the performances and the look of the movie was great but Sony gave mark Webb to much to set ip and stuff into one movie
Nikhil Kumar because people don't have the same opinion as you
Nikhil Kumar the story was bad
the story was horrnedous.
The villains were one dimensional.
There was absolutely no reason to include The Green Goblin other than to kill Gwen.
There was absolutely no reason to include The Rhino and end the movie as their fight begins.
Overstuffed with too many plotlines, like wtf was up with Peters uncle. And why did Harry Osbourne stress to get the cure when his father died when he was an old man.
And dont forget the flashing screens and computer voice-overs constantly telling you what something is or what something is doing. The movie simply didnt respect its audience.
This movies cgi was ground breaking at the time it wase released.Still holds up todate.
I gotta say, even though I highly disliked TASM franchise, this film had some SUPER good CGI, one of the best I've seen. And the costume just looks better than Marvel's. Even the CGI. Marvel's suit is just completely CGI which is crap, until homecoming.
Idm why 2014 has super realistic cgi than 2021
ikr, CGI is worse now that it was in 2012-2014, just compare Iron Man suit graphics in first Avengers with this suit in Infinity War and Endgame
Bc there was more time and care spent in these films and they got entire studios together specifically for these movies. MCU uses the same cookie-cutter teams for every project, so some aren't even specialised for the type of superhero they're doing VFX for. Blame Disney's corporate need to put out films ASAP to make money fast.

I'm a huge movie buff, and I honestly believed TASM 2 was a great spiderman movie. Andrew Garfield is a top notch actor and he's very convincing as Peter Parker. Especially when Gwen dies, and that deleted scene where his dad comes back almost had me in tears! Not that my opinion matters
I too believe this is currently the best Spiderman movie out there even better than Homecoming and Spiderman 2 & 3 and 1

@SuicideCyborgy holy fkin sht....
wait... but... i never...
another reason i hate this movie, it gives me a headache with how annoying some shit in the plot is
The action, special effects, and visuals of this movie are far superior to any other iteration of the character. I would also go as far as to say the soundtrack is in the same boat.
sony please use these exact artists if ur ever doing anything spidey related. this movie is the best looking out of all the movies. the mcu ones are so shitty
Looking back i never realised they put this much work into the movie I change my mind tbh TASM 2 was nostilgic kind of and I liked the days
imagine living on time square, how often your home will be in an awesome action movie xD
this film was not even horrible? i bet the people who hate on this movie are the same ones who are obsessed with tobey maguire
I personally enjoyed it, because of great character chemistry, amazing music from Hans Zimmer, mind-blowing CGI and overall atmosphere. However movie did have objective problems with the script, so I can understand people who disliked this movie because of that. But also you're right about nostalgia and fanboys, they didn't forgive any mistakes and wanted to destroy this movie aggressively
did you guys see how different Andrew Garfield move in No Way Home? it feels like no weight in it.
right, and in every MCU's spiderman scene. They are just not good enough as this
Yeah it looked terrible and bland and cheap and unfinished
God, if that Electro fight sequence. That slow-mo still gives me the chills.
Respect to the maker!!!
3:17 so much prectical stuff. Homecoming will be 95% green screen.
Awesome actors, awesome director, awesome music and awesome cinematography. If Sony didn't want a cinematic universe or hired less writers, the movie could've honestly been the best Spider-Man movie ever, too bad Sony never took their chance.
Blame that nigga Avi Arad ,he was the one who ruined sm3 too
The CGI and visuals in this were amazing
In my opinion this spider man has best and realistic swinging and cgi ever and if we talk about tom Holland spider Man even 9 year old child will recognize that this is cgi spider man
