  • Ready to run RC cars, they make getting into RC so quick and easy. For those who don’t know how to build, it’s certainly very convenient to get into RC with an RTR. But there are some that want to build, some that want to learn all about what makes up their car. If building an RC car kit has even crossed your mind, then you should really look into it some more. In this video we’re going to go over why you should build an RC car kit. In fact, we broke it down into 10 reasons why and what you’ll learn. Mostly when you build a kit, you will learn about the major components, but we’ll tell you why you want to learn about them. What you need to monitor on each of the parts of the car when you do go out and drive it. We’ll also talk about things you can do to your RC. Also we’ll discuss some of the decisions you can make for your car while you’re building such as electronics suggestions. Sure there are lots of things to learn about RC car kits and we’ll cover some of the basics, but this video will help you make that decision if building is right for you.

    biggest reason I always suggest someone build a kit is so they know how yo repair their car if it breaks. Plus the sense of accomplishment at seeing what you just built running around the track, neighborhood, local bashing area.

    I totally agree. If you build the kit it will be easier to maintain and even easier to upgrade the parts if you choose to do so. I own over 30 kits I built all but one. The kit I did not build was a Traxxas slash. However I did still modify the truck with a brushless motor and metal shocks from Proline. I actually enjoy the whole building process even more than driving my truck, or car. Think about that .

    I just built this kit with my son! It’s his was his fist kit build! I’ve been in the hobby for over 30yrs and I miss building kits. You out lined all the perfect reasons for building a kit, and it’s why I pretty much disassemble and rebuild my RTRs. So you can learn the car, and the most important reasons for me are that it gives me opportunities to enjoy my hobby and spend time with my son! It teaches him how to build, how things work, and patience! He enjoys building nearly as much as driving them. He’s much more “invested” in this truck because he spent time building it, he takes better care of it as a result. There’s no downside to building your own RBC cars. It’s a shame that they don’t make many kits anymore.

    Building Unassembled RC kits also makes you proud, it takes time, but it's worthy

    I herd that the stampede Motor burns out really fast is that true because I want to get a rc car and I don’t know what to get? Please help me??!!

    Question. How long would a Brushed motors last in a stampede for the average kid? I'm seeing on forums people give them lives of only months. Maybe only 50 good runs. Is that true. I want to get my son, and of course myself, into RC but if brushed motors are that short lived then should I avoid them?

      @mikes062 Před 4 lety

      If you maintain them you’ll probably be fine, but it depends, in the end a lot of times the brushless versions are better because they come with upgrades, bearings instead of bushings, steel instead of plastic links and so on. I’ve used brushed motors and had them last a long time and other times they died quickly w no visible reasons, it’s just part of the hobby. Don’t take too seriously everything you read online, lots of haters like to tell why everything but the brand they love is junk.
