- The Amplifi instant Wifi is the easiest and fastest mesh wireless setup I've tested. The setup was easier than the setup from Eero, Netgear Orbi, Linksys Velop, TP Link Deco, and Google Wifi. The whole process took only 2 minutes.
The Amplifi HD Gamer's Edition is Ubiquiti's latest wireless system that's built for gamers and optimized for Nvidia's GeForce Now Streaming service.

No one is going to say anything about that old school FIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE instrumental in the background? I see you bro. ;)
When are you going to review any of the latest projectors for mid 2019 as you are one of the best non biased reviewers on You Tube.
Another brilliant video, clearly explained and decent content. Keep em coming 👍. Love that you don’t just focus on all the new trending tech and that you spend time on tech that will actually help people in their own home.
Dude great review of both systems! Finally someone actually mentioned the wired backhaul (:
Just bought the instant based on your other review on different Mesh systems for different house holds and am over the moon with it. I bought a duel pack then added a additional single router to extend the mesh. Please note if you have the duel system you cant link another duel system you have to buy a single and you can add a HD to the instant if you like. One point not mentioned is that the instant offers ethernet on the duel system on both units which I needed for a TV in one of the bedrooms that did not have wifi and the HD boosters dont only on the main unit. In all I love it and have now dumped all my extenders and theres no having to jump to a different wifi point for better signal it just does it. Just to add Amazon UK have a great deal on the instant at £99 for the duel kit a d £69 for a single unit.
Thank you finally a damn mesh system that’s decent
Man, we've missed you. You can't take breaks. We need you! LOL.
Thanks Chris,
Right on time. New house more space, needed these options.

What type of modem do you recommend? I want to get one of these but want to make sure modem is to par as well. Tired of paying fee to my internet provider for renting their equipment!
Zachary Uribe SAME HERE
Can you buy extra "nodes" for the amplifi instant? Cause what if I need another one than the ones that just come in the box?
Waiting for some new projectors reviews/news :)
They're coming
Same here this You Tuber is the go to guy for reviews.
Excellent video - just the info that I needed!
Solid review as always
Good video-although; and it’s about the ‘Instant’: How come you didn’t also try and wire the node? So we could see how great(er) the performance is with their ‘backhaul’ function (this function is instead of the preferred third band for the units to communicate internally so it doesn’t affect the bandwidth (in the same amount)) 😀.
hey majestechs, ive been following your youtube channel for unbiased and quality audio reviews for a very long time.
i'm writing this to you in hopes that i'll get some help or rather some insight for the troubles im facing with my home theatre. its not much but for the budget I have now, I'm very happy with my current setup except for this one problem.
im currently using an Onkyo TX NR757 audio receiver with my optoma hd143x projector, and Ive recently purchased the amzon firestick 4K.
im aware that my projector is only FullHD and not 4k but my receiver however is listed as 4K ready receiver.
after ive plugged in my 4K firestick I was wondering if whether or not my amazon stick would consider my receiver as a 4K device and push through 4K content or will it consider my projector's setting of 1080P and only display a max of 1080P content.
to put it in brief, will my 4K ready receiver Onkyo TX NR757 feed my 1080P optoma hd143x (even if it displays downgraded 4k content) 4K content from the 4K firestick or not
Good work ,keep it coming
Great review thanks!
Is it WiFi 6? Does it have thread connectivity? Great video thanks. 👍🏽😊
No
great review Bro
need to review the Unifi Dream Machine. i just switched from the Amplifi HD Gamer's Edition
does the mesh point stick have an ethernet cable on it or is that just the router
Hi Majestechs,
Thanks for the great video, I'd love to help add Traditional Chinese translation for people in Taiwan, can you turn on the option so the community can help add translations? Thanks.
Will the Amplifi Alien help when I'm streaming movies on my Nvidia Shield? For example when I'm watching movies on Kodi they often freeze. I use a wired connection.
Is this wifi mesh system gamer's edition wifi 6 compatible? can it find wifi 6 channels? hope I asked this question correctly.
Chris, bottom line it for me. Would you buy the Ubiquiti Amplifi system for your house ? I’m looking to trash my Linksys EA9500.
The Ubiquti is fantastic for people who aren't looking for blazing fast speeds. The ea9500 is hard to beat on throughput but any of the mesh systems will have better range. You have to decide if range and stability is more important than throughput/speed. The only mesh system that will come close in speed would be the Orbi. How fast is your internet connection?
I have a router Nighthawk RAX80 downstairs and my PS4 upstairs .. Can I buy the gaming edition and hardwire it to my ps4 pro? I am trying to avoid latency when gaming online.
can you add ma velop sytem and amplifi system together to expand your mesh sytem
do they boost the speed to or speed remains same but rang is fluid
Is this better then the or orbi WiFi 6 mesh I’m about to buy a mesh network and this gamers edition is what I want but I just saw vid on orbi so now I’m like eh... I’m new to this
You didn't mention in the summary that the game is edition has an extra mesh thingy, and when you did the speed comparisons you didn't make any reference to what you would normally get with other systems so other than between the two featured in this video we didn't have a comparison of whether that is a good speed that you would expect in your environment.
I have a comparison video coming later this year with all of the systems with full comparison charts like I did last year.
Dude, when you plug them into the wall. Will they short out your homes electric system from time to time? We tried something similar in 2017 and I had to constantly reset the rooms with the main circuit breaker like every 3 days.
You must have had a problem with the unit you plugged in or an issue with your electrics, this or any other device should not cause a short unless the above is an issue.
I want to cut out all cable providers for good. What will i need for my apartment to provide that for free to watch free TV shows, stream movies, and watch live TV channels, plus have free wifi internet without a cable provider. Any recommendations?
You should of also mentioned the Teleport add on.
Can i use this with the verizon 5g home internet
This channel fn rocks!!!!
Question is the Amplifi Instant Wifi compatible with the Amplifi HD
Yes
@@ChrisMajestic That`s That`s really helpfull, I did get a nice Blackfriday Instant wifi, and will add it to a HD :-)
Hey. Is it worth buying Amplifi HD Gamer's Edition over a standard one? The new one costs about € 100,- more where I live and I am not sure if it's worth it.
With such a big difference in cost I would say no, it's not worth getting the gamers edition
Majestechs thank you :)
Why is my amplifi instant mesh not connecting to the main amplifi
I can't even tie my shoes in 2 minutes.
I have internet bundle with 400mbps but my speed test states on 9mbps is this because of my router??? please help me
Thank u for the vid! we have our wireless modem in the basement and then extenders but it still is not that reliable on the 2nd floor. In your opinion which system would be best if you have 4 TVs/ROKUs, 3 gaming systems, 3 computers, 3 to 5 phones, kindle, and stereo. Thank you for your direction.
The instant wifi would be great for that. Or the TP Link Deco M4
I have all that running at my home and the Amplifihd is amazing. Also allows for QOS so you can tell it this device is for gaming that device is for streaming and this device is for normal internet use. It also allows for port forwarding. You can change the ip address as well as better DNS servers than your ISP providers defaults you to. You can cloud remote to it as well. SHUT OFF the SSID from public displaying. It has a Guest wifi mode where you can share for certain amount of time for certain amount of connections. You can create like other mesh systems multiple profiles - so if you have kids you can add their devices to that then pause the device or schedule a pause when they arent suppose to be on..lol..anyways.. it's a solid product..
@@ChrisMajestic thank you Sir
Please compare with model Deco M5
So is this simply a network extender on steroids ?
I brought one but mine didn't go up to 900mbps why ? Can someone help ?
Good video
I basically had 2 option when getting internet for gaming in my new house. Option A, improve my WiFi. Option B haul a 50 Ft long Ethernet cable across the house all the way to my room. I think you all know what I did.
Andy Lopez hauled Ethernet best option hehehe which one did you go with
Danny Souki hahaha. Cat 6
How is amplified hd vs the gamers edition is there big difference
Performance is nearly identical. I actually got slightly better range from the Instant wifi
So this doesnt replace the rental router, it needs to be plugged into the existing router?
Yes it replaces a router but not your modem. Most modems now double as a router too so in this case it wont replace it since Amplifihd is not a modem
@@rhdtv2002 Thank you
It can replace your modem if you have fiber internet such as verizon fios, Google fiber, or at&t. If you have a docsis modem like you get with comcast service this wont replace that.
@@ChrisMajestic Thanks
You have amazing internet idk what U say by alright because I have 4 down 0.5 up
Are you going to do the new velop ax
Yes
Why not use Unifi access points for wifi?
I actually use Unifi NanoHD APs in my house but these videos are for regular people who aren't savvy enough for that type of setup.
@@ChrisMajestic ah ok, do you have a video of your internet setup?
But your isp modem/router in bridge mode not the Ubiquiti gear. ISP modem/routers are always garbage………always
Oh come on man. No data on the differences in latency? We need to know. Is it worth all the extra cash for gaming? I read it caps you download speeds at 100mbps. Big miss on this video and usually you're on point.
True gamers only use Ethernet
half the speed? this is so dissapointing.
I wish the tech was nicer. I rather just save 200$ and use ethernet and somehow wire that to the other side
It would be a lot better if the if each access point could be hardwire over a ethernet cable, It would been nice if could show all router web control features and you do not want use bridge mode on this you should do that on ISP cable modem router it self that should be put in bridge mode and disable onboard wireless to or buy a own cable gateway modem like a ARRIS SURFboard SBxxxx or Netgear CMxxx
I mentioned in a caption that they support wired backhaul. However, most people dont have multiple rooms wired with ethernet. Most people dont want to or have issues logging into the ISP's modem to put it in bridge mode. Either way works. I have another video explaining the different options.
@@ChrisMajestic I'm refer to each MeshPoint device them self don't have wired backhaul to main router in stead it relay on total wireless where hardware wire the speed thru out the whole house will be petty close to the same, Just wondering dose it have Traffic Analyzer - Statistic ? if not sure that what that is some of us are on data cap it is needed to keep eye on data usages.
