It’s the most professional masculine way to keep warm. You can just walk in a blizzard, and you’re good.

Thank you for the video. It can be used as a blanket, a pad to lay on, the uses are limited to your imagination. They weigh a lot is the only drawback I can see.

Since 1970s. I have always had an Aussie or (1960s) USAF great coat, excellent coat. Some drawbacks though, heavy to carry when not wearing it, and very bulky in the rucksack if hiking. Aussie Army stopped issuing them in the mid/late 1970s. Apparently the cost of moth control in the storage warehouses was a contributing factor. They sell in Australia these days on ebay for AU$120. Just bought one at a swap meet for $45 with buttons from my own regiment I served with some time back!

Canadas military has long rain trenchcoats, wearing them over a wool trenchcoat would go a long way to keeping it dry. I have several civy overcoats but one of my favs was a camel colour one that was owned by a Army Chaplin in the 50s.

when your belly gets fat you can just move the buttons more to the middle and it will fit again, or vice versa

Hi.. Suggest making a Trench around your tent.- Divert that water.
I Highly Suggest investing in some Zip-lock Plastic Food bags For your clothing and toiletries - they're reusable and keep Everything Dry. And for extra: You can use a couple of emergency Mylar Sheets. 1 underneath and the other on top. As for the weight, I guess that each person will have to do a Pros and Cons list. Practice with it and figure it out. Great Review!

In fact, we did tried to dig a trench around our campsite. Flooded 15 cm over the whole plateau. Didn't worked. And we couldnt hang our stuff in the tree because they were straight without low branches. Just the wrong place at the wrong time. 😅
