I think they are a year or two away from being a serious championship threat, but between how screwed over they were in 2002 and being mismanaged to the point it wasn't even fun to joke about, it's been great to see the Kings being good again.
Yeah, I don't think anyone would consider them a true title contending team now....but in a year or two, especially if they can add some defensive players? Look out.
Seriously, us Kings fans needed this too! I’m so glad the Kings are doing well this season, Fox and Sabonis are playing all-nba basketball for this entire season so far. DeAaron is playing outta his mind mainly because he finally has a great squad around him. The Kings are all he knows as far as nba teams. He might be the best King to ever suit up in a Kings jersey if he keeps playing at such an elite level. He’s proving he can go all gas no brakes. You have to give a lot of credit to Monte McNair and Mike Brown, It’s a relief to see a competent front office and coaching staff again. Geoff Petrie and Rick Adelman had the same kind of success in Sacramento. LET’S GO KINGS!!!
Or a year or 2 away from being trash again.
I think they will win WCF this year
As long as Vivek Ranadive doesn't butt in to Monte McNair's plans, the Sacramento Kings will be quality contenders for a while.
I’m so happy for the Kings and their fans!!
Ref who reffed said game, goes to prison for rigging games, and says said game was rigged. But we'll never know if the game was rigged. It will always be an unsolvable mystery.
Thank you! How can you say we’ll never know? He was charged and admitted to it
@@scfstiles bc it was a different ref that was found guilty and he stated that there have been lots of rigging in the league and lal v sac game being one of them
@@scfstiles the ref is tim donaghy btw
Look, 27 attempted free throws in the 4th quarter. That's proof that the refs rigged it. Plus anyone who watched that game would know it was rigged. And Tim Donaghy made those comments under oath as part of a plea deal which if he was caught lying the deal would have been off and he'd probably still be in prison right now. Has there ever been another game in NBA history where a team shot 27 free throws in a single quarter?
@@cryptoskywalker1714 The NBA is a business and like any business their goal is to make as much money as possible. It is a charade just like WWE but it's entertainment and even though folks know it's fake they still watch.
I’m a Celtics fan but I’ve always felt a connection to the kings. Probably from growing up watching Webber and white chocolate highlights not to mention prime Cousins was my favorite player for a while. I’ll never mind watching them succeed
Mike Brown is goated Fr
He's been great for them
@@And.One.Hoops1they also have played in ny kc cincy and omaha and haven't won since 1951 and been in the middle since around then either
As a bulls fan I find myself rooting for the kings a lot I’m really happy for the team and I’m a fan of them
This channel and Threecone have become my favorite talking basketball channels, keep up the good work 👍🏽
Btw most rigged series in sports history, will never forget the Lakers for this 😂
Thanks my man! Really appreciate it!
Two terrible channels about the NBA 🤣. Might as well as rusty basket. Go watch Think Basketball and learn a superior channel.
Weirdly enough, the Kings have a top 10 defense on the road. They just have the 29th rated defense at home. If they can just play the same way they do at home as they do on the road, they could be a serious title contender
Agreed.
Actually Chriss was traded to Phoenix for the rights of Bogdan Bogdanovic, Skal Labissiere and Giannis’s dad Papagiannis lol
NOTHING made more angry, OR EVEN STILL TO THIS DAY, AS ANGRY AS THE REFS IN THAT FINAL GAME!!!! That shit should have been investigated I don't give a damn what anyone says!!!!
I'm shocked you didnt mention the 2011 drafting of Jimmer Fredette over Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard. Personally, I liked Kawhi coming out of college, as we needed defense BADLY at the time.
(I also liked McLemore for the draft, so I'm less than perfect.) 😂
Solid takes and great video
Great video man. (Also the background music you pick is perfect)
Thanks! Glad you liked it 🙏
The one thing I like about the NBA these last 4-5 seasons is that a lot of smaller unknown teams are starting to really put up numbers and be big in the game.
It's nice to see the underdog teams win once in a while.
Sacramento native.

-Sacramento Kings (My home.)
-Denver Nuggets
-Phoenix Suns
-Memphis Grizzlies
-Toronto Rappers
-Milwaukee Bucks
etc.
It makes the game really entertaining to watch.
I watch a lot of teams play.
For me I've been watching the Kings, Warriors, Bucks and Mavericks lately.
I'll watch any game really.
They're like the "We Believe" Warriors under Mark Jackson a few years ago, they beat their opponents by outscoring them. When Steve Kerr came, they focused on the defense more and you know what happened! They'll be a Championship Caliber team in a couple of years if they'll stick to that formula!
This is the most underrated basketball talk channel ever. 11k subs?? Needs a million
Hard to not like this team. Love seeing organizations turn it all around. 🦾
It's actually nice seeing the Knicks and Kings get to the playoffs again after years of being labeled worse franchises.
Great video you speaking facts my guy
Thanks my man!
i still dont understand how anyone can say mike brown has had struggles as a coach. 9 seasons as a head coach... 7 with winning records... and one of those 2 losing seasons he was let go after going 1-4 with the lakers... who mike dantoni only was able to get 27 wins out of the following year. His career winning percentage is .556? Hes been a great coach that ran into and clashed with mega ego's in lebron, kobe/dwight
It feels out of this world, hearing you say the kings have weapons!!!
It feels weird for me to even say that
You didn’t even include Trey Lyles. The Kings’ X-Factor.
Domantas Sabonis imho is their franchise player. Kings fans should be ecstatic for their resurgence.
Over Fox?? I love Sabonis too though
@@And.One.Hoops1 Yes mainly cause he leads his team in rebounds, blocks, points and steals.
I think as well at the moment yes, Domas is the biggest and best piece we have, but I know that Fox will evolve even more in future seasons, and I think it'll be an amazing 1-2 punch combo with them both being equally dangerous on the hardwood instead of a main "guy" and his runner up like most teams have with their main star/superstar with their assisting star player.
@@rapgodreloaded9259 he does not lead the team in points.
@@rapgodreloaded9259 or blocks or steals. Sabonis leads the kings in rebounding and assist.
i think you missed the big part of why the kings are very successful this year - the system coach brown implemented. personnel is fine but it seems backwards the way you explained it. the players arent excelling out of nowhere, fox and sabonis have been decent before but they are thriving because they get to play in an offense that lets them succeed. i felt like you glossed over its importance or didnt mention it at all. brown took a little bit of the warriors offense and nuggets offense because he recognized that his specific players, fox and sabonis, can handle and thrive in that environment. putting together a bunch of random players and making it work is one thing, but the key here is the system - i think u missed the opportunity to explain why these players are doing so well.
Best season in two decades and they meet the warriors in round 1 😢ouch.. it will be a fun series, lots of strategy involved, sabonis and draymond will be chirpin, the battle of California, warriors in 6
Light the beam baby 🟪🟪🟪🟪🟪
It’s not bad officiating when you’re doing what David Stern wants you to do. It’s called fixing games.
As a newer Kings fan who got interested in the team before the season started, this season is so exciting to watch! It's been such a dramatic change from people thinking the Kings would be a bad team to now people respecting the Kings, and even some hoping for us to get a very unexpected and major upset with a championship! 💜👑💪🔥
(I doubt it will happen but if it does that would be one of the greatest stories in NBA history; and I'm confident that we'll make the playoffs with homecourt advantage, and I'm rooting for us to take the Larry O'Brien trophy home.)
I hear ya, but I don't want people to get butthurt when the Kings get eliminated. The only team I can think of that kind of came from nowhere to win a Championship was the 76'-77' Portland Trailblazers. But they won like 38 games the previous 2 seasons. So, they weren't nearly as pathetic as the Kings.
The Kings winning a Championship would be the most shocking thing in sports history. My worry is that expectations of that type could cause disfunction in the Organization. It's probably why the Media is even floating the idea that it's possible. They want to destroy the Kings.
Because the truth is, it's not possible. They don't have Championship depth, and they don't have Championship know how. How could they? They've only been a Championship quality team for 5 weeks. They need more experience and they need a little more punch on the bench. Not much, but a little more size, scoring and Defense. One or two players. At the very least, a better backup Center.
There is a way NBA Champions become Champions. They either make some huge trade that makes them favorites, or they grind it out. First, they make the Playoffs. Hopefully, they make some noise. Then maybe the next year they make some noise in the 2nd Round. Then maybe the next year they make some noise in the Conference Finals or maybe Finals. And then, in year 4 or 5, maybe they win a Championship. If the Kings want to win a Championship, they need to be thinking long term. And so do the fans. It's going to be a long war. But things are definitely headed in the right direction. The foundation is set.
@@cryptoskywalker1714 @CryptoSkywalker Very true, I honestly also doubt it, but as a fan you just have to hope that that one in a million chance of it becoming reality shows up in this year's postseason. Like you said though, I agree with the Kings heading in the right direcation, and personally I think they're already set up for a future in the postseason, with this season not just being a one off thing.
@Antonio Bautista I think you're right to have a sense of urgency, though. It's difficult to keep teams together anymore. So the windows are getting tighter. If they can stay healthy, and the GM doesn't do anything stupid, hopefully, they are set up for the next 5 years.
Keeping Fox and Sabonis together shouldn't be too difficult if they can stay healthy. But keeping pieces around them is the hard part. Like, Monk will end up getting a raise. Sabonis will get a raise. Murray will likely end up with a monstrous, well-deserved raise. Huerter will get a raise. And then, eventually, someone will have to replace Barnes in the starting lineup. That's all in the next 5 years.
I still remember when Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash were the future of the Dallas Mavericks. Somehow, they screwed that up. Dirk eventually got his ring. But Nash never did. Or, Kawhi Leonard was supposed to take over for the Spurs. Or, OKC deciding to keep Kendrick Perkins instead of James Harden.
If I'm a GM trying to build a legacy, I try to copy the Spurs with Parker, Ginobli and Duncan. Or, even the Warriors, with Curry, Thompson and Green. Try to keep your Big-3 together for 10 years. If the Kings can keep Fox, Sabonis and Murray together, the Kings could be relevant for a very long time.
I'd like to throw Huerter and Monk in there, too. They're both young. But that's just a fantasy. So, you're right. We better get winning while we can.
@@cryptoskywalker1714 True, I agree with all your points too. Like others think in the fanbase as well, I do think that the big 3 is Fox, Sabonis, and Murray, and they shouldn't split them up and just keep the Beam Team as unchanged as long as it's feasible for winning. I do think the Spurs are definitely having a Spurs-like environment, especially with Mike Brown being a former Spurs assistant coach during their second championship run. I think if they keep the winning culture and mentality of team basketball and team success like the Spurs have, we could possibly be a dynasty if we play our cards right and continue to improve to a team with championship level offense AND defense. It truly is possible but if we want that it will be a long and hard journey to get there. But luckily for us, we have the youth of all our players on our side, and they'll only get better.
@@antoniobautista6718 Just pray for good health. That's usually the difference between paradise and hades.
Hey man, big fan of both channels. I’m not sure how ethical it is to use captures from Secret Base’s Collapse series throughout the video with no attribution. In the future, I think some small text giving credit to the original creators in the corner when using clips from other channels would go a long way. Thanks!
Hey, I appreciate that feedback. I actually don’t know what Secret Base Collapse is. I got the footage from a free clip aggregator, but maybe they took illegally 🤷♂️. I’ll look into it
Everyone hopping on the Kings Hype Bandwagon. Too little, too late! LIGHT THE BEAM on these Bandwagons.
Sacramento*s turnaround is pretty much like Phoenix*s in 2020 bubble.Out of the blue, from zero to hero.
Nah, they started building slowly around Booker and gradually improved. Sacramento’s turnaround was almost instant and NO ONE expected them to hold 2nd seed in the West, not even I, who is a diehard Kings fan lol.
Wolves has been horrid at drafting. Hard to miss when you have a number one pick but only Towns and Edwards that has really planned out.
I loved the lakers. 02 I was in 10th a big Kobe fan. I can clearly remember this series
Game 6 was definitely fixed
You skipped a HUGE draft blunder in 2011 -- they could have taken either Kawhi Leonard or Klay Thompson, but the front office fell in love with "The Jimmer" and his Curry-like range at BYU, while failing to recognize he was essentially a much lesser version of JJ Redick.
That's an insult to J.J. Reddick. Reddick once averaged 18ppg for a season. Jimmer had a dream he averaged 8ppg, then woke up with splooge all over his face.
Jimmer was a sensational player in college. Sorry but that's just hindsight. Jimmer was seen as a high prospect.
@@cryptoskywalker1714 jimmer has averaged more than that...... In China. He was a beast I'm China
im not a kings fan but I think it will be interesting to see what they do in the playoffs this year because there is a lot of polarity in the NBA rn and I dont think there is any clear front runner at least in the west
I’m just exited on who could represent the west it’s gonna be fun just how guys can comeback like adrew Wiggins kyrie paul George

The refs were the 6th man that game

The best NBA basketball team in California is..... The Kings 😮
Watching those old highlights makes me want to re-hate the Lakers all over again! Of course they cheated!!!! So we made up this chant with the cow bells banging in the background....Beat LA! Beat LA! It's been 16 years since we've been in the playoffs. Where is the Lakers now?
God bless everyone and have a good day .
Fox > Luka rather have Fox than Luka. The plan was to build around Fox. Bagley didn't pan out not because of skills but because of injuries. Bagley was the best NCAA player coming into the 2018 draft.
Wow how casual are you Chriss was not a Kings pick.
They have a bright future….
The most suspicious is an understatement.

I'm a huge Kings fan but they just don't have that championship dawg in them yet. I think they'll make it to the second round for sure but they're not a title contender just yet
Oh yeah, they’re definitely not there yet for sure. But with the right pieces, they could get there in a couple seasons
they’ll be true contenders in a year or two they’re second round exits
Celtics made them look like the old Kings team. They’re good but not good enough to keep up with the best teams. No big man and bad defense. Their offense is pretty good though, I think they need another star to really be a threat in the west.
Yeah but right now the Kings hottest scorer is arguably huerter and he was out that game. He's been KILLIN it. Not only that but he's been grabbing a lot of boards as well as assists.
Huerter imo is the sleeper on this team no one seems to talk about. Yeah Sabonis and Fox are amazing but Huerter is poppin off. They lost both games he was out and easily won the next two games he's been back.
Man, take Sabonis out and whole offense collapse... They're extremely lucky that they got him and should do all they can to keep him in SAC
They are third seed, maybe the win conference finals
Question:
You don't believe in conspiracy around refs fixing games right after telling us about refs fixing games. That's a very narrow band of morals and logic.
Lol, I said I don’t believe in refs fixing, but that 2002 was the most suspicious and closest thing to it I’ve seen. Not sure how that reflects on one’s morals whatsoever
Papagiannis over Siakam and Dejonte Murray was the worst pick in Kings history. Not Bagley imo.
That’s fair, but a lot of teams passed on Siakam and Murray, that shouldn’t just be isolated to the Kings
It's been worth the wait, but Holy God has this team been badly managed for the last 15 years ... and the drafting, horrible

I would argue that most referees are corrupt. Most referees make 75k/year and they have the power to influance a game in which they can bet on. They have all the reasons to fix games and shave points.
Kobe dosent deserve one of those rings
Still think they should've been sold to Seattle. That early 2010s Seahawks magic would've inspired them to at least get back into the playoffs a decade sooner. Seattle would have a team back and Northern California would unite under the Golden State run. Win-win.
In any case, I still wouldn't put it past the ownership (and Lebron's Lakers) to ensure this season is just an anomaly in the eternal Kings quagmire.
First. Joke
It's one good season out of 1 million bad season calm dowm

one playoff birth in 20 years isnt turning there franchise around. if they win. that will be impressive. simply getting to the playoffs nowadays isnt even hard. medicore teams make it in and thats lame

2:47 21 made free throws and 27 attempts IN A SINGLE QUARTER!!!! Just let that sink in. That would be 108 attempted free throws in a 4 quarter game and 84 points from the free throw line. I don't think that many free throws have ever been attempted in a single quarter, not even on purpose during the hack a Shaq days. The refs didn't even try to hide the fact that game 6 was rigged. That's 14 fouls or over 1 foul called PER MINUTE in the 4th quarter. Just a freaking disgrace. Thank god David Stern isn't in charge anymore.
If Sac can get a lock down defender, ala Doug Christie and add one more legit upper echelon player they could compete for a ring in the next few years. As a Kings fan it's just nice to have hope again, especially since the Bucks won, a very small market like Sac. I never thought the NBA would allow a small market team like Milwaukee to win. 20 years ago that would have never happened.
i think defense is really all that’s missing, davion mitchell needs more play time cuz he’s close to lockdown and we’ve been getting better every year, saying we should add an upper echelon player scares me tho cuz i guarantee we trade the wrong guys away for it
@@kpenis17 Maybe in the past that would happen, but I have faith in McNair. He really seems to know what he's doing. He made the trade to get Sabonis so I think he'll find what Sac needs to be better next year.
