- čas přidán 2. 10. 2021
- The Sacramento Kings' best seasons to date in the city were in the early 2000s, including the 2001-02 season when they had the best record in the NBA at 61-21. However, under a certain number of intended and unintended circumstances, the Kings failed to win an NBA Championship. The Kings of the early 2000s is often regarded as one of the best teams to not win the title.

The process of the sixers
If it wasn’t for the refs in Game 6 the Kings would have been champs in 02.
Indeed man
I admit as a Laker fan: they could have been a much better matchup against Jason Kidd's Nets. That Finals could have been at least SOMETHING.
Pretty much the reason I consider the '02 Finals as the worse of all time because it was so one sided. Shaq steamrolled through whatever New Jersey threw at him.
@@walker68175 07
@@walker68175 Nah. A Lakers-Celtics 2002 NBA Final would've been better.
Game 4 was more a killer for the Sacramento Kings. Grab one rebound and win, could've been up 3-1.

Heartbreak after heartbreak but man was it an exciting era for the Sacramento Kings. '02 Kings will be forever the greatest squad hands down.
True man
The rings that kobe and shaq stoled from the Sacramento Kings
Yeah man
The league stole those titles away from the Kings such a shame
@@edloteyro5563Nah. The Kings choked and had to suffer even more when other teams beat them to the punch for an NBA title and NBA Finals appearance since the 2002 WCF.

😍😍😍
I'm just mad about this! Last time the Kings won the finals was in 1951, when they were known as the Rochester Royals
Yeah man
70 years…
The kings suck no no offence
Hope we can win 40 games this season
Poll: My dad bet $2 with me the Kings will make the playoffs this year. Do you think he'll win? Comment "yes" or "no"
Fixed title: *Timeline of How the Sacramento Kings got robbed from going to the NBA Finals and then started to collapse*
You have a point man
They needed a bunch of veteran and 2 star 1 superstar
What people don't realize is that the year they started without Webber 03-04, Peja and T-Mac were head to head overtaking each other for the scoring title (around 26-27ppg IIRC) throughout the season. Then when Webber came back, he refused to come off the bench and ease his way back in (something Duncan did do for his team), and the team chemistry suffered and Peja's scoring dropped and McGrady took the scoring title. 2004 was their last legit title contending season and IMO they would have had it if Webber was more humble and Rick trusted his bench more.
True. Killed their chemistry. Webber rushed back to starting lineup too quickly. Should have played off the bench more.
2004 would have been WCF rematch with the Lakers. Webber missed last second shot in game 7 at Minnesota , wouldve been game winner 3 ptr. TWolves went on to face the Lakers in the WCF.
Ohh thanks for these additional info man. Very useful
@@joesmith8725 Actually, it was a game-tying three-point attempt by C-Webb to force OT in Game 7 against the Timberwolves in the 2002 WCSF.
It’s official. They are back in the postseason.
🔥🔥🔥
Your channel is awesome! Keep up the good work.
Wow thanks man
Awesome video, it helped undrstand the beginning of that great era of Kings basketball.
Thanks man
The video was awesome dude definitely going to subscribe. I started watching the Kings back in 98 when I was 7 years old. and I had my heart broken in 2002 when the Kings lost to the Lakers. Truly an absolutely awesome video. It was sad having to watch how close we got tho.
Awesome! Thank you!
Now the Sacramento Kings are back in the NBA playoffs are waiting for 17 years!
😍😍😍
Even I will admit as a Laker fan that the Kings were robbed in '02. That Finals was a cakewalk for Shaq and the Lakers. Jason Kidd and New Jersey didn't stand a chance. I think Sacramento could have been a better and more competitive matchup than Los Angeles.
Then after that, the Kings would become the only Pacific Division member to not make the playoffs since 2010.
Yeah. That's very tragic fot the Kings
That championship in 2002 was handed on a silver platter to the Lakers all because they wanted to make more money and have higher ratings
@@jaywarvz i’m pretty sure there were some Lakers fans that noticed what the refs were doing
This channel is so so so slept on
Thanks for the support man
Not many teams had 2 big men like Vlade & Webb who can pass, shoot the jumper, post up, draw double teams, set up their teammates for easy buckets. They had one of the most unique offenses I saw. Ultimately Webb's knee injury was the nail in the coffin & despite them having the best record in the league the following season behind Peja's all-NBA performance, it was Webb ironically who upon returning from injury really screwed up the chemistry & that team faltered down the stretch dropping from the 1 seed to the 4th seed. Wish they would've got one at least, 2002 still hurts.
💪💪💪
It's official. The Kings have clinched a PLAYOFF SPOT for the first time in 17 years. The drought is over.
😍😍😍
Great video! Unfortunate what happened in 2002.

Who’s here after the Kings made the playoffs?
Ah man. This is so heartbreaking. This was the best Sacramento team ever.I desperatly wanted them to win the tite. If they hadn't been robbed by the refs in 2002,and if it hadn't been for Horry(he always saved Laker not Kobe or Shaq) they would have won the title. But they slowly begin to collapse. And that was it.From 2002 to 2006.After that year, to this day they hadn't made the playoffs. Guys, in the future, if sacramento kings qualify for the playoffs, we will get back to this video.
P. S. Sorry for the long comment. It was my opinion for the Kings. And remember. In the future they will make the playoffs. But we have to wait a long time for that to happen.
This year is looking pretty good with the addition of Davion Mitchell. A year from now I want look back at this comment be like "see I told ya!"
Hope the Kings will be back soon
@@gerardoaguilar4839 I hope you are right buddy.I hope so.
Don't wait have to wait that long as the Kings are 2nd seed in the west as of today!
Webber, Stojakovic, J-Will, Vivac, they changed the franchise in the late 90s to early 2000s. it's sad that after 2006, they have yet to improve anythin'. I hope they have better players in the meantime
Hopefully man
Thanks for being honest here and put they were robbed in the WCF 2002 game 6. Although it's still convenient that Divac and Pollard were ejected in the game 7 because of foul trouble.
Yeah man. The Kings deserved to win
@@jaywarvz Yes.
The Kings probably win the Larry O’Brian trophy had the Lakers and their corrupt officials never robbed them.
Man, to this day, we still ask these questions, what if Game 6 wasn't rigged? What if Chris Webber didn't get injured in '03?
What could have been
@@jaywarvz Sacramento Kings haven't been the same since
Don't forget '04. Kings were very good too. Webber rushed to starting lineup after return from knee injury. Killed team chemistry. Shouldve played off the bench.
Wouldve had WCF matchup with Lakers in 2004. Game 7, Webber missed game winning 3 ptr in game 7 at Minnesota. Twolves goes on to face the Lakers in the 2004 WCF.
I believe if game 6 wasn’t rigged, the Kings win their first championship for the city of Sacramento or the New Jersey Nets never relocate to Brooklyn.
The current Kings team is trending upwards since last season, and for years to come. New era for another good Kings team, contenders.
Hopefully man
It will take a Herculan effort for Mike Brown and the Beam Team era Sacramento Kings to capitalize on their few chances especially in a free-for-all Western Conference.

After watching this year's Kings and from this video, last time they made the playoffs, Lebron was making his playoff debut, Kobe and the lakers almost beat the suns & the Miami Heat won their 1st title. Man, the times have changed.
Indeed man. That was a long time ago
2003 was the absolute best chance for Rick Adelman and the Greatest Show on Court era Sacramento Kings to win it all.
Why? The 2003 team was even deeper than in 2002 when they added Jimmy Jackson and Keon Clark and rapid improvements from Hedo Turkloglu and Gerald Wallace. Also, the Lakers' getting a four-peat was difficult where the Spurs ended their quest.
However, Game 2 of their Round 2 series against the Dallas Mavericks was the beginning of the end of Adelman era Kings when Chris Webber tore his lateral meniscus in his knee from a non-contact injury.
Turkoglu couldn’t even get minutes that year because Jim Jackson played so well
🔥🔥🔥
When are you gonna do the cava like what day or week?
Yow man. I'll be doing it in a month i guess. Just stay tuned

As a Kings fan since 1998 this video broke my 💔 it's too bad the Kings were robbed in 2002. They were the best team in the whole NBA that year. I was 11 in 2002 and that Kings team made me love basketball. It still hurts BAD to this day that they did not win it all.

Now, Michael Malone, who the Sacramento Kings fired in 2015, added his name to ex-Sacramento Kings players and coaches who won an NBA title after leaving Sactown.
What a great coaching career for Malone!
Although it hurts Kings fans, I’m glad that Malone was able to win another city their first NBA title, although Kings fans will say it was for the wrong city. I’m also glad that he forced the Lakers to take the L in the Western Conference Finals and stood up to the corrupt officials and wouldn’t even give them a chance to aid the Lakers and LeBron. Take the L Lakers fans and leave!
@@jacksonconley5117 The Lakers took the L very well and saw the Kings lose another Game 7 since moving to Sacramento.
14:21 is my favorite part of this video. Basement dwellers will be basement dwelllers lmaoooooooooooooooooooo

Mike Bibby was probably the most underrated player of that era. He’s the biggest reason Steve Nash ended up with PHX instead of DAL resigning him. He cooked Steve Nash so bad in the 04 Playoffs Marc Cuban didn’t want to pay him😂😂

The fact that you put that Vlade Divac block on Kobe has definitely triggered many Kings and Hornets fans out there cause players were involved in the trade for one another. LOL

This shows how the refs and league favored the Lakers. The most heartbreaking WCF ever! I didn't even bother watching the Finals that year because I knew the Lakers were going to kill the Nets. I couldn't watch it. The real finals were the WCF. The East was so weak that year.

If the 1998-99 season would have been cancelled, this team may never have taken place. Maybe Divac and Webber go somewhere else the next year (C-Webb wanted to go to the Lakers). If that 99-04 run doesn't happen, the Kings may be in Vegas today.
