  • With a plan to wild camp around the Worbarrow Bay area we start at Encombe Estate near Kingston and head off to Swyre Head with panoramic views across Purbeck before hiking down onto the South West Coast path with the Kimmeridge Ledges starting to become visible as the tide goes out.
We head west along the South West Coast Path in strong wind visiting Clavell Tower and the Kimmeridge Oil Well before entering the Lulworth Ranges, still following the Coast Path to Worbarrow Bay. With the weather turning and heavy rain forecast we start setting up the tents as we’re spotted by a ranger but after a friendly encounter we thankfully do not get moved on and we promise to leave early the next morning and LNT.
After a night of heavy rain we pack up and head off early walking along the Hardy Way up to Gad Cliff and along to Tynham Cap and follow the Hardy Way all the way to Smedmore Hill and back to the car park.

That's it. Keep the place tidy at all times. Just incase someone approaches you then they know you're respecting the land.

I've been "caught " twice, told I was not allowed to camp and then had a nice chat about the weather. Then left alone to camp. The rangers are not daft.

Thanks for watching! Yes the ranger was super nice! We did wonder if he was feeling us out and after he checked on the radio he never came back!
Do you know the lights when looking across the bay in west direction? There’s a line of lights do you know if they’re on Bindon Range? Think they’re around Black Rock location? We couldn’t decide what they were!
Thanks again for watching! ATB Alan & Phil 👍

Hello Alan & Phil 😊. That was a wild and windy one chaps! I reckon Alan should have taken that hat left on the gate post you passed on your way?😂 Just as well the wind was up in the evening after your Madras, plus the extra spicy Mexican rice eh Phil! 😂 Bit of a twitchy sphincter moment with the Ranger turning up like that 😮 Fair play they’re all good guys and do the right thing. Respect both ways really when you leave no trace. It is what it is! Anyway peeps, thanks for posting another video, and until the next time, onwards and upwards 😊. Cheers Pete 👍

Hi ya Pete, the wind on the edge of the coast path was blowing well for sure. Alan lost his hat after the Madras and spicy Mexican rise 🤣😁🤣. Was a bit of a twitchy bum moment TBF, waited ages for everyone to go before setting up then Ranger turns up 🙄🥴🙄. It was all good in the end, no fires no rubbish no problem 👍. Your welcome for the video Pete ATB Onwards & Upwards Phil & Alan 👍

Maybe we just had a new guy? He wasn’t sure he could let us stay and checked on his radio! But he was super nice about it! We’d probably pick a more discreet location next time though! ATB 👍

@@apoutdoorsuk na I was camped right in the most conspicuous spot goin lol, check my jurassic coast vid it's the thumbnail. They were lovely, gave me some plasters too 🤣 the beauty of that Bay is once they lock up, you can only access on foot or by sea, no one to see us or complain. The boaters often have fires on the beach 😉

Had a soulo but prefer the Akto as lighter, very simple to setup with 1 pole, bigger porch. In bad weather can make it bombroof by adding just 1 more pole and a few guylines.

I think its just down to common sense. If its lads like us that enjoy our island the right way, leave no trace and not just a bunch of bellends that have bought a tent for £20, got a load of beer and no intention of taking it back with them.

You need to re-read the sign! Made 11th October 1978 and came into operation 10th November 1978! Month later! Shame about the swearing! Spoils an otherwise good video.

Well spotted! It was actually spotted before posting but Alan didn't think anybody would notice! Well we are who we are, warts and all. You're obviously entitled to your opinion but fortunately there are plenty of CZcamsrs to choose from. ATB 👍
