Low block Moyse can only identify with low block defenders midfield utility players and a target man upfront.If Tim pearl dives,no matter what he comes up with he would be wasted under Moyes.We need a Coach that understands all playing styles not just counter attack.
I think a good director of football should be able to find top talent, no matter the football style.

No one knows what Moyes plans are as we don't know where we're finishing? Our leaky defense tells me we may not go further in Europa but hopefully we finish 7-8th in the prem?
I think just winning it would be incredible regardless of league position. Long way to go though 6th to 11th and winning a trophy is up for grabs.

Hard to say at the moment if Moyes is leaving or not. Surprisingly we're still in a strong position in the league & we're still in Europa League. I don't know how because I haven't enjoyed watching us play in a long time. I think individual moments have ended up saving us most of the time.

David Moyes isn't a quitter. If he goes, it will be because the terms of his position have changed (coach not manager...). Then he will make a fuss in the media and make it clear that his job has changed and he won't accept that. That's his out. (I hope!).
I think it could end up a battle of wills between Moyes (if he stays on next season) & Tim Stieden.
If this happens I can see Tim getting frustrated with him having his hands tied, unable to have the influence over the club that he was supposedly brought to the club for.

Leverkusen only won by a penalty at the weekend, I think they are running out of gas and will soon lose. Whether that is to us remains to be seen, but I’m quietly confident about winning over the two legs. They may also be focused on next weekend’s match where they can clinch the Bundesliga.

Overall, gotta agree with Frankie about the BL tie with DM in charge, but I do think if we can come home with a 1-0 loss or better, it’s still game on for the second leg. Even a 2-0 loss could be overturned (in my dreams 🤪).
As for the contract, Board are probably thinking that enough people will change their minds about Moyes if we re-qualify for Europe & perhaps pick up another trophy, or even if we only go as far as the 1/4 final but put in a good show at home.
They can still offer Moyes a subordinate role to TS & see what he does. Doing nothing rn is a win - win for them.

Only strong argument for Moyes earning the right to stay is another year in Europe. But having said that, having European competition would make us far more attractive to the type of manager we'd actually like to recruit. If Steiden signs managers the way he signs players, how could we possibly be worse off?? You'd have to be horrific to get us relegated with the talent we have (even if Paq leaves in the summer). If all the board wants is to stay in the PL, I don't see a lot of risk in trying something different.

FFP should be renamed "FFP unless you are Man City etc" How early can Man City approach Paqueta, and how does their FFP rule, and FA investigation time scale, differ from Everton and Forest. They just seem to flout the rules, and tell the FA to do one. And now the FA are looking for a future change in the FFP rules. Serious questions need to be asked.

Imo Business wise the board see Moyes as a cash cow as we have been making more yearly money through league position and for being in Europe. Even having the Conference league we attract a better calibre of player during transfer windows. If we get Europe next year, i see it hard for the board to part ways with Moyes but if a structure change happens where Moyea is more of a head coach then maybe Moyes might choose to walk away and if thats the case i hope we have a good replacememt for him and get a balance that satisfies both board and fans.

For Thursday I would be excited if I believed we was going to go for them and go for the win and unleash our best players....but we know moyes will low block and we are going to be under pressure for almost the whole game and don't see how we win letting them attack us.

Sorry I've never seen this other guy before. Their squad value is not more than ours. Paqueta,Bowen and Kudus are all of the same value of any of their players. They are doing a Leicester tbh. Frimpong come on he's no better than Kudus. Xhaka is playing like Drinkwater. Get him wilded up and he'll break like he did at Arsenal.

Sadly leverkusen have come accross a moyes low block ..let's not forget we played them in pre-season whereby they tore us a new one and won 4-0 ( they haven't lost since)
I disagree with Frankie in the opinion that our best defence is thru an active attack so we're not sitting in a low block constantly where our stats show we just can't do it. I'm in the let's go for it camp, for the full 90 and not bottle it if we go ahead
Leverkusen have built their team on a fraction of our transfer budget over the years and look where they are compared to us as they have a decent manager whilst we do not .... Alonso will pull Moyes trousers down over the 2 legs ....Moyes OUT
Just to state the obvious Leverkusen are a German club playing in the German League. Which in my opinion is way inferior to the PL.

I find it difficult to believe that as I don’t believe there is new investors lined up, yet, and Steidten say isn’t that much, as we witnessed in January when Sullivan overruled him.

@@HammersChat Yes, as far as I am aware Tim only had a say on player recruitment at Leverkusen, but I’m not 100% sure. I don’t know whether he had any say on managerial appointments.

We have 3 to 4 exceptional talents within the youth team. we cannot afford to risk losing these just because of one coach's stubbornness. and yes we have had success before in Europe and the FA Cup and have had a better table position. don't understand why these wrong narratives continues
