Apple makes a mistake by reducing the battery capacity. why degrade the battery while improving your processor? On 12 pro it should have been 3500-4000 mAh.

I'm skeptical about these YT tests. I fully charged my 12 on Wednesday around 3 pm ( I know I was watching the Snyders justice league LOL) ..is Friday at about 9 am and still has almost 50% on my 12 (no the pro just regular 12). then again I don't use it for social media or YouTubing ( unless I need to YT something on the fly) ..and gaming on a small screen is not for me ...so you can say for normal everyday non-social media person ..battery issues are almost non-existent. I also killed the background usage on most apps. Just replaced my old iPhone 7 plus only because only lasts about 8 hours ..I think the battery is done on that one, it's a great kid tablet now lol. BTW having a wide camera on the regular makes more sense for selfie family pictures and on the fly. Great content BTW !! subscribed.

Personally battery life is probably the most important feature. The camera upgrades are hardly noticeable unless you have the pictures right next to each other and you zoom in, the processor speed upgrades are not noticeable at all unless you are doing video editing on your phone (I never have done that and never have met someone that does that)
But I will notice 30 more minutes screen on time.
You literally hit apples brand right on the head exactly why I switched away from iphone not worth it I can't tell the difference in speed between each model
Chips are not a limiting factor anymore. Camera and battery are the most important to me and I couldn’t be happier with it on the pro max. Ending the day with 40-50% on heavy usage.
i would disagree i get a new phone every year and defiantly can notice a different in pictures and speed , apps load faster face id unlocks faster you might have to wait a month to fully see benefits threw app updates tho

I do believe it is their method to decrease the *massive* environmental footprint the production of batteries creates. The making of these Lithium-Ion batteries requires sulphuric acid, the production of which is not very... *clean.*
So-the smaller the battery, the less sulphuric acid is needed. I know the margin of change is minimal, but to be able to still retain this great battery performance of six hours, with a more powerful chipset and *less* battery, is a very futuristic approach!

Using the iPhone 14 pro currently. It honestly when I owned the iPhone XR, it gave me the best battery life. (I thought my 6s Plus had good battery life) I could do a 16 hr shift at work and still go home with 6% to 10% before charging. My iPhone 11 didn’t even last that long. My 14 pro is even worse as it’s at 90% health and it’s been one year since launch.
I’m happy with my 11 the battery lasts for 7-9 hours screen on time in the low power mode

That's why Apple didn't talk about battery life in their keynote. It's not better in comparison to last generation so how will they even make it convincing?
Moreso its the fact people don't understand the a14 consumes less power, same with their new displays, and software/systems that utilize and push power WHEN you need it. They also did say they wanted slimmer devices, hard to accomplish without minimizing battery after adding 5g components.

The battery and manufacturing supply issues is exactly why it wasn’t implemented. 120hz made it so far into testing that it was still in the prototype units till right before mass production

I’ve had the XR for about 4 years now and I must say the battery life is impressive I can get 5-6 hours of screen on time without any problems and only have to charge it at night. considering how old it is it still has a battery health of 92% even though I’m not a heavy user and don’t use it all over through out the day the battery is still in good condition but with other products like Samsung or Xiomi you would expect the battery to be warn out or even dead so good optimisation apple.

Same situation, I think this year the pro is the one to go for, but I believe the XR is good enough for another year of use :)

I own a first generation SE, and have for a few years now, but for some reason, I’m always inclined to make that same mistake, even though I’ve never owned an iPhone X or newer.

@Petey Boi I think spending CA$800 on a used iPhone Xr, or even more on a new one, just to save a half-second per week doesn't really fit my student budget. Even if money were no object, the e-waste factor alone isn't worth it.

Wouldn't a fairer test involve moving on to each different testing category (gaming, video recording, social media, etc.) when every device reaches a certain percentage (not moving all from one category to another without regard for the distinct phones' remaining battery percentage)? E.g. move iPhone SE to gaming from social media when it reaches 80% (say after 1 hour) and then move 12 Pro Max from social media to gaming when **it** reaches 80% (after 2-3 hours).
i have the iphone 12 and thinking if i should switch to 11 pro max, my 12 is so laggy, the phone slowed down over the years, signals suck sometimes cant make a phone call, should i switch or no ?

Apple focused more on performance than battery life for the iPhone 12 series. Remember them declaring “how fast” the iPhone 12 is with 5G and everything else? Processor speed was made to accommodate 5GUW

I was stuck between getting the 11 pro or the 12 mini, but battery life is important to me and since the mini has a smaller one than the normal 12 I'll definetly be getting the 11 pro! Super useful video, thanks man!
