Ben is HUGE in Britain AND Norway - He was the leader singer of boyband A1 who had numerous hits in the 00s!
For me, this was a more epic moment than Alessandra winning! Her legacy won't last as long as these guys, no matter how well she does at Eurovision!
Ben is not Norwegian, but from the UK, and moved here here with his Norwegian gf, and now they are married. Gaute is of course Norwegian, and yes they are famous, just not in America lol. They are legends here, like how Backstreet Boys is in the US. That’s why everyone know who they are and they have made music this whole time.
People already knew, at least many did, I speak only of Norway, not foreigners and outsiders. Why they sing: «worst kept secret in Norway». They are already big artists in their own right, and I watched them since I was a kid in the 2000’s. Ben as a member of the boyband A1, with another Norwegian singer, and Gaute participated in Idol. I didn’t know it was them, but I knew their voices sounded familiar. All the foreign fans are crying and being upset, mostly about the reveal, as they don’t think two middle aged men are hot. Both Ben and Gaute are married and Ben is 41, Gaute 39 and he’s also a dad. I’m 35, and my mom knows Gaute’s mom through their careers as teachers lol. But this whole concept was created for Eurovision last year, and was never meant to be a permanent thing. At least not masked up as wolves. But I guess it became way more popular than they thought outside of Norway… they stated that it’s not over just because they revealed their identities, which in reality wasn’t a reveal if in Norway. Also it’s meant as a spin on the classical fairytales involving grandma and the wolf, like red riding hood, but it was meant as a joke. So many Americans at least didn’t get it, and trying to over analyze everything and make it wag deeper than it is. It’s just for show…
People were pretty sure it was those two but it was never confirmed until now, a lot of international viewers guessed Ben Adams, he is a member of the band A1 and have a huge international following. Gaute Ormåsen doesn't have an international following, but is well known in Norway, and Norwegian fans were able to guess him.
I had goosebumps when I watched this live. What an amazing run of the Jim & Keith.

We all knew who they were it was the worst kept secret since we all figured it out but they had to keep denying that it was them.
Those people are known... Ben Adams was in a band called A1 i think.. and Gaute was in norwiegian idol back in 2003
Most people in Norway guessed correctly who they were based on their voices. Ben Adams is British and a member of boyband A1 who's already experienced commercial success. Gaute Ormåsen was the Idol runner-up in 2003 (the first edition of Norwegian Idol) and shortly afterwards scored a national hit with the love ballad "Kjærlighet er mer enn forelskelse". Both Ben (with A1) and Gaute tried representing Norway in Eurovision before, and have contributed as songwriters to multiple Melodi Grand Prix entries.
People already speculated on Ben and Gaute before this reveal, but it was still exciting!
I love the song and I love the fact that 2 middle aged men, who already has successful music careers decides to mask up and sing about wolves and bananas.
Even though I wasn't a huge A1 fan they (and therefore Ben Adams) was a big part of my childhood
Yes we knew, most of us Norwegians at least;) very recognizable voices. I tried to tell people it wasn’t Ylvis but people wouldn’t listen. Haha. Ylvis made no sense vocally, not body wise either.
Yes Ben and Gaute is very known I would say. Gaute only within Norway I suppose, while Ben was in the boyband A1 and had great sucess back in the days. He has done other song projects since. And been on gameshows/so you think you can dance and A1 has done a few tours last years as well only singing their old songs I think.
Gaute came second in the first Norwegian idol, and has had a solo career since. Also collabed with many artists.
This was so much fun. Ben was easy to reconizes his voice Gaute took a few lisnings becuse I am swedish. Perfection just perfection ! Check out A1

And just because they do a reveal doesn’t mean “nobody knew” who they where. Even though Eurovision is big here in Norway, many also see it as a joke and circus. You either love or hate it. And if you’re like me, and don’t really care, you also don’t care about who they are, and they even hinted at it or gave it away after their 1st appearances anyway. Even been in the tabloids etc. So yeah, everyone basically knew, but depends on who you’re asking and if they even watch, or care about Eurovision.
Some people still thought they were Yvlis or another group and that the Ben Gaute thing was a red herring.
