When I was a small creator I used to have 20 to 30s average watch time.. but now that I have 300k followers I can only dream of those numbers. Is it normal? I feel like my followers are keeping me down from going viral
I think this is normal. Every year, different content trends emerge on social media. However, you don't need to change your content; just remain consistent with what you do. 😃
As a music producer, my retention rates always look like that. But to be fair, I've noticed that when instead of posting beats with a cool visual, I make a video about making a beat or something (ie not beats to search through, but content to watch) I get way better retention rate. Though still quite poor but way better! Thanks for all your tips!
Quick questions because I keep hearing it so often: What is considered as a post (since you mentioned posting at least 3 times a week)? Do stories count as a post as well? Is there a difference between posts and reels? Or can I post a story, a post and a reel to fulfill this 3 times a week shenanigans? Or do you mean reels only? Btw, is there a way to grow on Instagram without posting reels?

I have been posting everyday on Instagram for 2 months. My reels went viral and some of my videos reached millions of views. Annnnnnd one day (last week in fact ), my reach drastically dropped, like... What ! I don't know what happened. From 20K views, I have now 1K views. Is it hashtags ? (I never use banned hashtags, I check everyday), lenght, concurrence or my followers don't like me anymore... What do you think about this ? How can you explain this ? Thank you again from France ! ☺
There is no “the algorithm” in Instagram? How can you claim to be an expert when you consistently state there is one algorithm?? It has 6 algorithms not one

However, we are not located in the us, and whatever the way I post in it targets people in my country. Do have any idea on how to solve this? Is investing in a residential proxy in the us do the work?
I've watched so much on Instagram and nothing seems to help me figure out how it works. I just had a video hit over 500k views and then the videos after that only got no more than 1k and most in the 100s. The retention is fine, they all just get no reach. What is going on?

Been doing IG since day 1, there has never been a algorithm secret lol. You either know how to create good content or you don't. All these un-educated people falling for these bullshit videos and courses. Sad to see.

Good question. Post means Reel. Stories additionally to that. And there is a way without Reels but very niche areas. Coincidentally not photography😅

That sounds frustrating! Instagram's algorithm can be unpredictable sometimes.
