    Dark gray is my all time favorite default primer as well. You get the built in shadow of black primer, with a bit more life to it, so you aren't fighting to get bright colors to work. Other color primers totally have their place and I certainly use them, but dark grey is indeed a great starting spot.
    I just recently started playing with lacquer primer, and was disappointed when the brand that I was recommended only had a light gray and a black. Some experimenting later, turns out Mr Color primers can be mixed(Black and gray 1500 primer with thinner 1:1:2 works fine through an airbrush), so I got there in the end.

    the cities of sigmar guys would be perfect if the tabard - armour - tabard laying was a bit better.. really prefer the historical style of having the tabard on top

    What a superb video. I have 20-30 cities of Sigmar steelhelms to paint and my army scheme is mixed livery like yours. Would always advise doing the metallics first?

    • @PeachyTips
      @PeachyTips  Před 3 měsíci +1

      It depends on the paints/tones being used tbh, if it’s lots of leathers with the metals and then some punchy bright heraldry, starting with the metals first may speed up the process, but each scheme will have its own pitfalls…..so I strongly recommend doing a test model first

      @@PeachyTips thank you. I’m currently trying to get to repair a broken ankle so lots of time for this sort of thing. Painting Cities of Sigmar there are quite a lot of animals to do, horses, griffins etc. I’d be really interested on your ways of painting those!! Thank you again for such excellent content.

    There are any number of games that this would work for a small warband. I play a one-page set I found online called Minceheim - small enough to play on a sheet of paper and simple enough to play in half an hour.

    Not sure if you read comments or take suggestions. But I would love a video showcasing how to paint more fantastical skin colors such as classic green and rare ones such as purple or blue. I would love take some elven miniatures and paint them like Warcraft Night Elves, but I am not sure how to go about it. Thanks for the videos, Peach!
