What a great review as always. You make me want a lot of bikes you ride. But this one really sounds special. A bike for 95% of riding and is super fun without pushing to the max. Who wouldn't love that? I like to push hard at times, but I'm no racer or pro so I mostly run at about 65% effort. Bet this bike would be perfect for a ton of people.
So jealous of your weather, it's been so rainy and wet here for the past month I haven't even been able to hit my trails. They're all closed! Riding the gravel rig on the road for exercise, but it's nowhere near as fun. Been rocking my longsleeve Hardtail Party jersey a lot. Took a while, but I finally got it a couple weeks ago.

And as I would expect, the move has come with a price increase.

I'm still breaking (braking?) them in. I'll have a dedicated review in the future.

How does this compare to the Kona Honzo ESD or are they not directly comparable? A friend is selling his ESD and I'm coming from a 2013 Honzo mounted 130mm Formula 35 up front. I was nailed on for the ESD switch then I started watching this! Mind you almost every time I was one of your reviews I get excited 🤣

Bike sounded perfect for me until the lack Lustre technical climbing performance. That is a huge deal breaker for me. Local trails are extremely rocky and technical. Lots of ledges as shown :( I kept hoping to hear Steve change his mind after more seat time.

I got most of the climbs, but a slightly steeper seat angle would help.

Stack on this bike is on higher end for a short travel and believe those bars are 35 rise as well? Just getting a low rise bar may help alleviate that as well. Wish this bike had sliders to SS!

Were you able to confirm if geo is at sag or unsagged?

@@hardtailparty ah, do you remember what the change was from the review? I noticed it had an extra bottle mounts now. Does this mean not at sag then? Sour replied to me to only say geo is with a 130mm fork, no other info.

@@Alex_564 their geo chart didnt match my measurements either at sag or static.

@@hardtailparty Oh, I've heard something similar from the discord I'm in & caused some issue trying to understand the geo chart. The talk was the geo lines up if sag was at 7.5%. But, that was for the gen you reviewed. Not sure what the updated model is at then. Thank you for the reply.

Hey Steve, any plan to review the Sour Big Fun? A little more rowdy with external routing. I've got one on the way. Thanks for doing what you're doing!
