      Me too, what are the limitations of using parts? Will they make certain changes harder to apply? Why not use it?

    Option 2 can’t be tagged and option 3 needs another separate wall assembly behind to represent the structure, so option 1 stays the right one for construction documentation. Really nice tutorial 👍🏻

    Excellent content as always! Any suggestions for creating a custom 3d panel extrusion to be used in the curtain wall? I'm looking at using a terra cotta rain screen panel that will have open joints and hang on vertical rails mounted to WRB. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video, I ran into some issue with generic wall being modified while not actually shown up, the preview works perfectly fine but neither 3D nor floor plan works, with or without the Thin Line on... not so sure if it is some graphic visibility issue or something else.

    Great Video, I just have a question about the second wall type. After I make it into parts I no longer am able to select the wall and edit it, making it taller shorter? is there a way to restore this function or edit where the wall is separating later if I change my mind on the layout?

    Thanks for the video. The second method cuts the whole wall, and I'm not sure why but it comes out full of bugs (it seems the exterior panel conflicts with the air (which doesnt show as an empty space either)).

    The problem with the curtain panel approach (that some manufacturers create bim files with) is where there are corners along the exterior of a building. Both outside corners and inside corners both are not modelled accurately in those circumstances, and result in extra detail line work that is necessary when creating plan details and section details. However, in most circumstances in my experience anyway, the manufacturers create reveals and as well as offering a detail created in Revit which allows for easy transfer between the files and become the best to use in technical drawings.
    Perhaps your order of worst to best methods of creating a panel facade along a building is the worst to best approaches during the schematic design stage and not the construction drawing stage of a project.

    • @balkanarchitect
      @balkanarchitect  Před 3 lety +1

      I agree, perhaps saying the best and worst isn't the ideal way of describing it. It's really 3 different approaches that have 3 different results. Depending of what the user is trying to achieve they can pick out a method.

    Hello, I used the method with parts to model the existing building with granite panels cladding. Unfortunately, In 3-d views the alternate materials just don't work; they show up thru original finish. Impossible to render, very sad.

    First, your videos are wonderful and I learn a lot from you every day!
    I have a question, when I look at the parts in the section, the air layer appears with a color - how can I change the graphics display in parts?
    Same with the panels, I set some of them with glass and they show up as solid material.

    • @AdiMarciano
      @AdiMarciano Před rokem +1

      also, parts shows in Realistic mode but not in render. why could that be?

    hello. how to make structural mullions?

  • @aliqamar1901
    @aliqamar1901 Před 6 měsíci +1

    The Second option doesn't work unfortunately, because the moment you dismantle the wall so break the wall in bits its not a wall and cant be used as a wall. The first option has to be done manually aswell and even the seperation distance and if you can a curved wall its more difficult. Option 3 i havent tried cuz am been yh trying for the past 4 hours.( am a student )

    Good evening. Thank you for all your videos.
    I have a question and I would like to request your help.
    I work at a company that is currently migrating to revit. We build precast structures and GRC panels for facades. Our GRC panels have a stud frame, and my question is related to this GRC production.
    Does revit have built in module or some add-on that allows me to create all the shop drawings to fabricate this kind of panels? I have to create 2 drawings per panel: 1 for the stud frame and 1 for the geometry and layout for the GRC panel.
    If possible, we can discuss this issue privately.
    Thanks
